A quirky little property with lots of rural charm . Good location and perfect for anyone bringing a dog as plenty of walks nearby with village green just opposite . Sadly didn't have time for dinner but breakfast was delicious .... lady serving was most accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for her .... as was the lady on reception . Local village shop within walking distance .

This is a rural dated property so some of the furnishings were a bit dated but one could say it added to the charm .

The room was very nice, quiet and with a very comfortable bed. All rooms have baths.

We stayed for two days. The non cooked breakfast was odd and different on both days i.e. on the second day there was fruit, a better selection of cereal, yoghurts (all of which were out of date) I asked for toast, but was presented with a bacon sandwich. We ate dinner on both nights and the food was delicious, but all puddings were lactose based and as I am intolerant I found that disappointing.

Good location, reasonably priced really good breakfast.

There is no onsite presence after bar closed. Had to go downstairs at 1.40 in morning and ask some men to kindly go to bed, which to be fair they did, however this should not happen and they may not have been obliging may also have been a different story if it was my husband who had approached them. So be aware only guests onside from 12 when bar closes.

Location was perfect for our travels. Room was clean and tidy. Evening meal was good. Breakfast was perfect especially the omelette filled with smoked haddock which had just been smoked the day before. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Only one slight problem but did not stop us enjoying ourselves. Toast was not offered with breakfast and we love our Toast. Breakfast was still lovely.

Perhaps the decor, including the ceilings in the main reception area and foyer, could do with a spruce up as it appeared slightly jaded. Apart from that the inn is lovely and absolutely no complaints otherwise.

All the staff gave off a good vibe that you get when people are happy at their work. The rooms were spotless, and the food was exceptional, both dinner and breakfast.

Nothing - I've recommended it to a couple of motorcycling groups I'm part of and wouldn't do that if I had any reservations.

The evening meal and breakfast were both good. The room was OK.

The reception on arrival. I appreciate it was a Sunday, but having to find someone to book us in was a little tiresome. Also - it would have been a true bonus if our bags had been taken up to the room.

Welcoming atmosphere, staff very cheerful and friendly. So welcoming of dogs, no restrictions as regards restaurant etc.

Maybe next time a room with a view, I know it's difficult as we have a dog with us and they will probably keep so many pet bedrooms.

Plenty of parking. Generous breakfasts. Friendly staff.

The fact that ended up paying a lot more for our 3 night stay by using Booking.com than I would have done if I had just gone straight to the hotel's own site. Very disappointing!! The room was showing its age in many ways eg extractor did not work in internal bathroom, television very old with the wrong remote, blind in the velux window (the only window) was very worn and difficult to get to function, corridor floors and fire doors very noisy.

Room was wonderful, large, quiet and extremely comfortable. St Boswells is a very pretty village with good facilities.

There was a large golfing party staying at the same time as us which wasn't a problem but it did seem to leave the staff a bit stretched at breakfast time.
