The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was warm and comfortable whilst it was around freezing outside. The facilities in our room were good and whilst some were a little dated they were more than satisfactory. We don't think that the extractor in our room was doing its job properly but this could be rectified.

The wait for dinner was longer than it should have been? I had to complete some paperwork and I found the lighting in the room was a bit darker than I'd prefer. The room we were in was accessed via a cobbled yard and one of the 3 outside lights was not working so we used the torch on my phone to return to the room.

Very noisy room, there seemed to be some fan extractor outside our room which switched on and off all night, was difficult to sleep.. also the public men's and female toilets were next to the room, so heard all the noise from the hand drying fans and squealing taps in our room.. decor in need of update.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, keeping us supplied with tea and arranging packed lunches for our hike. The location is excellent for exploring Melrose and environs, and the food was higher quality than expected.

The room was slightly cramped and mostly taken up by the bed at the expense of other amenities (wardrobe, chair, etc), but appreciate that you've got to work with the (lovely) building you've got.

Not enough signage ie locating room. Ours was through what looked like a fire door. Scrappy bit of paper with late night door key code on could have been a bit more professional considering price. A little tired in places ie carpets Long wait on breakfast.

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff and cozy bedroom perfect for a one night stay. The bed was so comfy it felt like sleeping on a cloud! There was a small music event happening in the beer garden which was fun to attend after we came back from dinner. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the veggie sausages!

Only thing was it was really difficult to get the loo roll out so we ended up having to force open the top of the container so we could use it.

Staff team great, helpful, friendly a credit to the Kings Arms. Food good, and the cask ales were also good, this hasn't always been the case in the past, so I was delighted. At the improvements. As always the room was comfortable and d clean.

Nothing to dislike be really, bar closes at 10.00pm on a Sunday, 😞 and the price of the rooms is creeping up, but it's still great value. I actually prefer staying here to Burt's etc. Much friendlier and more informal.

Excellent location in the heart of Melrose. Amazing friendly local staff, always smiling, helpful and flexible. The hotel is dog friendly, so it was great vacation for our dog. Good breakfast and restaurant facility for the day. The room is cleaned with complementary coffee and tea sachets at check-in.

The hotel does not offer room service, so you have to manage your own room’s cleanliness until check-out.

The fact that Booking.com DID NOT pass on the correct information to the hotel with regards to the request for TWIN BEDS meant that the staff had to aplogise for an error that was not of their making. They resolved the issue VERY efficently

Really central location. Friendly staff. Great service. Walk in showers are a bonus. Room 6 - great space. Wonky floors add character. Comfortable beds. Generous towels. Great breakfasts.

Decor is a bit dated. Love the location, but can be a bit noisy if at the ‘pub ‘ side - but happy to swap that for location.

Friendly hotel in the centre of Melrose within easy walking distance of the Abbey. Staff looked after us very well. We ate in the hotel & the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again.

WiFi was a bit patchy & mobile signal isn't great..
