Lovely location, easy to park, staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great.

The hotel wasn’t quite as ‘luxurious’ as I had expected, especially considering the price. The spa facilities were ok. The pool was small and so chlorinated it irritated the children’s skin. The decor in general was very dated and worn, including the bathrobes in our room, which had holes in them. If are you are sensitive to loud, sharp, aggressive noises, or have sleeping babies, autistic children etc, you won’t want to press the button for the lift! The beds weren’t comfortable. None of the above would particularly bother me if I paid a mid-going rate, but for a two night stay plus dinner at the hotel on both nights, it cost a total of £791 for 1 adult and 3 children.

Evening meals were tasty and wholesome.

The full breakfast was a let down. Bacon was under cooked, sausage was square sausage which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. I included beans and these were poured over the bacon and sausage. The staff member who greeted us in the morning always said “is it a table for two?” It would have been so much nicer if you had been welcomed with a cheerful good morning. They were very efficient but you can also be pleasant!

The hotel itself was clean, staff were friendly including Danny the night Porter who was brilliant, food was unbelievably lovely, the beds were very comfortable and it was a perfect area, the only thing that this hotel down was the run down spa

The spa needs updated, the loungers were not in use, the steam room smelt of urine, the sauna had chewing gum and dirt underneath the seats and there was something that was not nice floating in the pool, it was as clean as it could be and the staff were lovely, it just needs a lot of TLC.

We had dinner the first night we stayed and it was excellent, the room was spacious and had a lovely view over the water.

The room i thought would have been a bit more up scale that what it actually was but it was still lovely. The card that opened the bedroom door kept failing and we had to ask for another card or cleaners to let us into our room. Breakfast was the disappointment for me, the first morning i had the avocado on toasted sourdough, and the second i had the eggs benedict. Both said on toasted, bread or muffin, to me toasted is not just warmed up - there was no crunch to the bread or the muffin. But this is a minor detail and overall we had a great time here. One thing that i thought we might had got was entry to the rooftop garden when we stayed but we had to buy tickets to see that. But these are minor details and overall we had a great time here.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and warm. Every member of the team greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello — it really made a difference. Shout out to Olivia and her manager, (lady with red hair) She, like the other staff mentioned how much she enjoys working there, and it truly showed. There was more than just professionalism — there was a genuine warmth that shone through everything they did. The food was excellent, both in quality and presentation, and very fairly priced. The facilities were spotless — everything was clean and well looked after. The scenery surrounding the hotel is absolutely stunning and added so much to the experience. Overall, it was an amazing stay and fantastic value for money. We would definitely return and highly recommend the New Lanark Mill Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and welcoming getaway.

The only small downside was that the signage leading down the hill through the gates towards the hotel could be a little clearer, but that’s a very minor point.

Lovely high ceiling rooms overlooking a beautiful stretch of the Clyde. Whole hotel is set in a heritage village, stunning location, very informative “living” style museum and woodland walks. Nice swimming pool, unfortunately there were no therapists in on the Monday we were there so I couldn’t try any of the treatments on offer. I don’t know if this was normal or a one off, perhaps best to check if important to you. Breakfasts were good, lots of choices. The 2 evening meals we had were also delicious and good value in our opinion. Very friendly staff and quick service. We would stay again if in the area.

Only thing is lack of info and signage on entry and where to park. As you turn into the heritage village, the hotel is on the right, however it isn’t clear that hotel guests, other than disabled, can park for free at the hotel. We carried in down to the main tourist car park which is camera patrolled by a third party. When we realised this we came out and went to the hotel. The visitor centre gave us the email and we contacted the management of the car park to ensure we didn’t receive a penalty notice. I did mention to hotel reception that I think parking info should be on the hotel website or at very least on our booking confirmation. Other than that no issues at all.

Tasty breakfast, including Eggs Benedict as well as full fry up and continental options. Very substantial evening meal servings! Pleasant bar for drinks/lunch with overspill facility into airy pleasant reception area. Lift went right to top floor, very welcome! Cheery and pleasant local staff.

Nothing really! The heritage site overall was very interesting but could have done with some more banisters on steps and benches to sit down, was very well set up for actual wheelchair users but could have done with some rest points for the less able, particularly as there were some slopes and cobbled areas to negotiate. This is not the fault of the actual hotel though, which was excellent!

Our second stay at Lanark mill, this time heading up to the Highlands for our anniversary road trip, the mill conversion is stunning. Fabulous views of the river from the windows in our room. Room large and comfy with a good selection on the tea tray. Plentiful toiletries. Lovely staff and excellent evening meal. Good selection for breakfast. We enjoyed the pool and saunas, gym looked well equipped. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

Only small niggles really, the towel ring was really loose in the bathroom, and the changing rooms needed a little tlc. Breakfast was lovely, but we waited quite a while due to some mix up with orders. Nothing that would stop us returning.

The location. The hike down the hotel. The restaurant. The health and fitness area (pool, sauna and Hammam, fitness). The room with a good bathroom and enough space. The good hot chocolate available in the rooms. Bathrobes. The staff at the top.

The radiator was not working in the chamber despite the attempt to adjust.The operating mode was not clear and the adjustment system did not appear to work. An outdoor light at the window was on all night (not very environmentally friendly) and a little annoying despite the closed curtains. There is a lot of moisture in the windows that can be seen in the paints. But it's not a no-go way to go to this great hotel.

We needed somewhere to overnight on our way South after a holiday on the NC500 and Mull and this popped up. What a find, history, conservation and a great hotel and restaurant all rolled into one. It’s a bit away from the motorway but worth the effort. Looking at how the building has been renovated into a hotel I think most rooms have a good view over the river, ours was lovely. Dinner and breakfast were both good.

The only negative was that they have kept the original windows (not something I’m against at all) but ours didn’t close properly which meant we had noise from the waterfalls all night, luckily we were both so tired that we eventually did fall asleep and slept well.
