Lovely rooms and lovely food we enjoyed our breakfast and got tea from the busy pub all staff very friendly and our food and drink was very reasonable priced for the quality that it was The pub down stairs was very busy and the night club next door but no noise disturbed us Really good value for money

The only issue we had was our room was extremely hot (we did stay on the hottest weekend yet) but we really struggled to stay on our room for longer then 5 minutes so I would recommend taking a fan with you if the forecast is looking good but we just went to the Tesco 2 minutes away and bought one

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the hotel along with my family and I must say, the experience was delightful. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, thanks to the friendly staff especially Duncan, who greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. The room itself was comfortable and well-maintained, with all the amenities we could ask for. The staff was always available to assist with any requests, making our stay hassle-free. One of the highlights of our stay was breakfast served by Samantha in the morning. Her cheerful demeanor and attentive service truly set the tone for the day. She ensured that we had everything we needed, from coffee refills to recommendations on what to try from the breakfast menu. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our experience, which made our meal even more enjoyable.

Not suitable on weekends for families travelling with kids due to pub and club.

A 10 minutes walk from the station, walked into a lovely warm pub atmosphere and live music on. The Staff were really friendly and welcoming., especially the guy who checked me in and carried my case up the stairs ( sorry I can't remember your name). My room even had a balcony so I put my milk outside to keep fresh. So grateful there was a kettle to make tea! I felt safe and comfortable in the bar , especially thanks to Samantha and Lucy. And thank you Mari for my lovely clean room!

Perhaps the menu could have had more variety. Breakfast was great though and good value!

Separate entrance to rooms at side of building. Had key so could come and go easily. Car park at rear of hotel so not far at all to carry bags. Enjoyed 2 for 1 main meal deal so dinner was excellent value and good, too. Ice cream from the shop across the road was the best! Tesco was just up the road for petrol. Loved our room.

Only problem was getting out of bed! There wasn’t much space between the bed and the walls of the alcove. Stiff joints made this a challenge. Cooked breakfast not served until 10:00. But continental served from 6:00 so not a big issue.

Comfy beds.

The shower tray had a pattern on it that looked like tiny insects. At first I thought it was not clean, only when I tried to clean it did I discover that it was the pattern of the shower tray. I'm sure other guests would have got the wrong impression that it was not clean when it was. Breakfast cost was a flat rate of £10, which would have been very expensive if you only wanted a cup of coffee and a slice of toast instead of a full fry up.

The room was beautiful. It was very clean, and had a lovely little balcony. The pub/restaurant were fantastic and the food was lovely with a good selection

The only negative for me and my friend, was that there was no rubber mat in the shower, and no safety hand rail. My friend and I are both 66, and would have benefitted from a couple of safety features in the shower cubicle. That is the only thing we were worried about. Other than that, it was perfect. The Internet access was not very good, but we managed.

The room was exactly as described, small and compact, but ideal for my needs. The food in the restaurant was spot with a nice pint and friendly welcome in the bar.

As room 1 was the first room at the top of the stairs, it meant all guests had to pass my room to get to theirs, this was rather loud as they were passing and talking late at night (not particularly the hotel fault) although signage to respect other guests could help.

The unpreposing exterior didn't prepare me for our modern, good-sized room with a door opening to a small deck. the bathroom was ultra-modern, clean and comfortable. There was a good assortment of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies on the desk along with a kettle to boil water. The beds were comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Lovely parking lot at the rear. Breakfast was good in the morning.

The restaurant in the bar/dining room closed at 8:00 pm so we weren't able to get food after that time but we should have checked that out earlier. There was some noise from passersby in the hall outside our door.

Facilities were modern, well decorated and clean. Very impressed.

I stayed in a single room, so I dont know what a double room looks like. However the room was a bit small. Single bed average size. But it was cosy. Has a bit of road noise, and when others enter the hotel, you hear the doors, which often seems like someone is outside your room door trying to get in. If party in pub below you can hear a bit. Entrance a bit dark, but neighbourhood is safe. Good Chippy just outside the hotel.

My room & ensuite were clean & tidy. Staff were exceptional - the housekeeping ladies I liaised with were Mari and Charlene when I asked for a few more milk pods and extra toilet paper roll. I did not have the opportunity to try out the hotel's catering facilities as family kept me plied with food haha, but I would recommend the Commercial Hotel to anyone needing accommodation in the area. Everyone was so friendly, from the check in desk, to the young man who helped carry a large suitcase up to my room, to the cleaners to the patrons.

Perhaps include an online map of how to get to your parking area before checking in would be great.
