This property is a Georgian townhouse with a lovely foyer and a beautiful balustraded staircase leading up to the second and third stories. It has all modern updates that don't take away from the charm of the historic home. It is also impeccably clean and has a warm home feel. It is very private with no traffic noise. Mine was a cozy single room with en-suite and a great shower with a wall-mounted flat-screen television. I had a view of the lovely small back garden planted with hydrangea bushes. Cathy and Lynn were very welcoming and incredibly helpful with main attraction locations, including a city map and the buses and routes available. Cathy ordered a taxi for me to arrive at 6:15 AM on the morning of my departure, ensuring I would make my early morning flight. Uber is not reliable. Although it does not offer breakfast, it provides a kettle so you can serve yourself with a nice hot cup of cofee or tea anytime along with some fresh fruit and biscuits. I look forward to staying with them again and highly recommend Amaryllis Guest House to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

A really central location. The owners were incredibly helpful and attentive, showed us a number of places close by for breakfast, and provided a map of the city to demonstrate how to access local attractions - its a 20 minute stroll to Edinburgh Castle. The room was clean, spacious and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the property was very quiet.

The only feedback to offer was in relation to the windows. Its a very light and airy room, however the blinds in the room were not blackout which means when the sun came up we were woken by it.

The guest house was in a great location. Quiet & a 10/15 minute walk to the top of the royal mile (Edinburgh Castle) & close to cafe's & restaurants. There are two bus routes that go to the city centre very close to the accommodation if walking doesn't suit. The house itself was styled lovely (to my taste) was bright & comfortable and the room was spacious with an adequately sized en-suite (great shower) The owners themselves were very friendly & accommodating. Will definitaly look to book again when in Edinburgh if available.

The owners were really nice and helpful. They gave us a map and explained how to get around the city. They also contacted me because they may be traffic jams on our way to the house due to the Oasis concert taking place that day. It's a very nice and quiet place.

The only downside was the fact that there was no lift but I didn't check when I booked so that's on me. Also, it wasn't a problem for us.

The place was spotless clean!! I stayed in the single room, and it had everything I needed. They also had some fruits awaiting in the room on arrival, which was so nice. The location is a very quiet residential area, which was so good to sleep at night, but it's close enough to all the tourist locations and you can reach in walking distance. Cathy also had some tips on what to visit and gave me a map on arrival. Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again!

Room was very clean, beds were very comfortable which was brilliant after so much walking during the day. We didn't miss not having a breakfast. We got a lovely welcome and thankfully we were able to leave our bags in the Amryllilis guest house on our last day, while we went out for the day, as our flight home wasn't until after 10pm, so we were grateful for that.

The only thing I could find "fault" with it, was that we were unable to close the window. But it turned out that the weather was so warm that we were glad to have fresh air coming into the room!

Cathy was a huge help with helping us find places, like a laundromat, calling ahead to enquire about services. She helped us find buses to take us where we were going. She recommended cafes in the area, offered to call a taxi for us. She’s an excellent host! Oh, she also found a store where we could find new trekking poles. Thank you, Cathy! A big room with a nice and clean bathroom. Even though it is in the city, there is no noise in the room, so we were able to listen to the birds while waking up. Easy to reach by bus from the city centre and a great vegan Italian place close by.

Not sure how parking would be as we used public transport. The people are really nice, so they should be able to help you out!

It was quiet. The fresh fruit and bottled water on the first night, was a nice touch. The property is in easy walking distance of a good choice of restaurants.

The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. If you want to watch tv in bed, you have to look sideways. The bathroom is tiny, with very scratchy towels. We turned off the radiator and opened the windows as there was a big duvet on the bed, but then the blinds banged on the frame all night long. Definitely not worth £150 per night.
