The hotel is great. Breakfast is excellent, with many options and a decent space despite the number of people. The room is comfortable, bed and pillows are fine, and the shower has strong and hot water. The room temperature was also great at all times. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

First, they just do not refill soap. We were without soap for 3 days and had to buy some at the pharmacy. Bad. The second thing is that the restaurant could have more options. Since 100% of the cafés close by 5:30 pm, the restaurant could offer sandwiches, e.g. club sandwiches.

Lovely breakfast, something for everyone.. don’t understand the reviews that complain about breakfast when you are spoilt for choice, even vegan options! Lovely staff really helpful and friendly- especially on reception. There was also a pool and a gym which yes they were small but it has everything you need to have a good workout, maybe not a full gym but don’t forget this is a hotel, many hotels don’t have a gym or a pool at all! Overall would stay here again!

Only slight problem we found was that the room was very cold with no heating system and more of an air cooler that we couldn’t switch off, but the lovely staff helped us with this problem and provided us with another duvet, so it’s not much of an issue.

Staff are adequate and courteous. Bed is comfortable.

It leaked when we were there. It was pouring water from the ceiling of the toilet.

checkin was straightforward the pool you need to call reception when you want to use it, but generally speaking we were either immediately allowed to go or went in ~20 mins (at busy evening time). The pool is small but the kids loved it anyway. Jacuzzi and sauna were nice bonus. We had queen room with sofa bed for 2 adults and 2 small kids, and it was fine, not lots of space, but worked ok. Breakfast seemed expensive, but we booked in advance and I think it seems cheaper that way. It was a really nice buffet - bacon/eggs/bread as well as yoghurt/fruit also croissants and also a waffle maker which was nice. TV was huge although we didn't use it that much. staff were helpful and friendly.

toilet is at the entrance to the room and the bath/shower+sink is further into the room. I find it strange not to have a simple tiny sink in the same room as the toilet.

I have just 2 complains We had booked a handicap parking spot, but it was just as narrow as a normal one (and they were very narrow), so it is not possible for a handicapped person to get in or out as the door isn't able to open fully. How you can call it a handicap spot is a mystery... The day we left, the 2 elevator were so occupied, that it took us 20 minutes just to get down to the reception... Oh... almost forgot... a fridge usually means cold... ours was warmer than the room, so absolutely useless... Otherwise a super nice hotel. Beds are very comfortable, standard room size is okay and breakfast is great.

The reception staff (Sofia) at check in was really helpful and welcoming. The lay out of the room was a little unusual. Entering the room with multiple suitcases was cramped due to the wardrobe/seat and wall. The toilet not being in the bathroom was a bit unusual and the sofa bed took up a lot of space in the room. However the room would have been spacious without that, and to be fair we needed it for our little one (who said it was very comfy) The room was quite warm the first night despite the window being open. The bed was comfy and we liked having a separate bath and shower. The hotel was central without being noisy and had all the amenities needed. Parking on site was also a bonus! We would definitely recommend this hotel to others

Lovely room standards - Coffee machine and mini fridge were an added bonus Sofa, TV inputs and standing lamp offered a great movie night in experience Pool area was great size, clean and very relaxing with no overcrowding. Late opening times were greatly appreciated

We like the mirrors in the room but the almost see through toilet door was a bit much, probably could have done without The next day the shower smelt a little of damp or stagnant water Pool area could have done with a little more observation from staff as a family allowed their less than 10 year old in to jacuzzi, splashing us, and causing us to end our session earlier than planned

Great location and walkable to almost everything (although be prepared for the hills and stairs of Edinburgh)! It’s well equipped and the bar is open late and they let you take the drinks up to the room which is perfect. Friendly staff and all round good hotel.

You have to book for the pool which is a little awkward when you’re just trying to squeeze in a dip between plans. The cocktail menu in the hotel is seriously lacking given the quality of the hotel. I’ve stayed at lower star hotels with a better menu and more sophisticated cocktails. It just felt a little lazy. The light in our room wouldn’t stop making this clicking noise for hours at night, it was most frustrating. Honestly, it’s very pricey for what it is but all of Edinburgh is pretty pricey!

Room was lovely- shame you had to hire slippers and gowns for the pool.

Too much chlorine in the swimming pool , our eyes were burning and the fumes got to my kids chests and they couldn’t stop coughing whilst In the pool We were confused about the pool… staff told us we had to book a slot so they could monitor how many people were in the pool… next day another staff member said we didn’t have to book a time slot I also ran before and requested an early check in for my daughter who has a disabled badge and a brain tumour , we wanted her to have a rest after flying before seeing family. The lady on the phone said she made a note on our booking, the lady at check in said it’s not always possible and would call us … we never got a phone call

Hotel is spotless, staff are so friendly and very obliging. Great location. Just a 5 min walk from Edinburgh Castle and all other tourist attractions and endless shops and restaurants! Felt very comfortable and safe in this hotel. We will deffinately be back again!

Breakfast was a little over priced cheaper to go out to cafes nearby. First night, dreadful carry on from room next door with noise and banging of doors. Made a call to reception and it was dealt with straight away. Very efficent sorting it out. After that not a sound at night!
