The room was comfortable and a good size - cosy on a cold winter night - the hotel is in a good location (although a fair way from the station if you happen to arrive by train and want to walk)

very late booking in time - and staff were very slow to make sure iur room was ready and get us into our room we took our breakfast back to our room (so it was getting cold by the time we got back as there is only one lift) because there is not enough space in the dining area for all guests at breakfast

Pleasant and helpful staff. Wonderful location in old town. Walk to the castle, the Royal Mile, the train station, and nearby hop-on-hop-off bus stop for all lines. Pubs everywhere. Grocery store nearby. Great breakfast included. Free laundry facilities. Room was cleaned daily and was generally comfortable. Quiet neighborhood.

No AC (they have been working on it since March 2023). Many items on their drink menu were not available.

The room was nice and large and had a small kitchen included. Thereby one could always make a tea of coffee. The room was in good condition and with a nice shower. The hotel is in walking distance of the main tourist attractions and there is a good public transport service to support locals and visitors. The staff were very pleasant and cooperative despite difficult conditions (the hotel was being modified during out stay).

The building modifications were an issue in that there was no breakfast place to sit down and the offerings somewhat basic. Still the hotel performed the best it could under such circumstances. Luckily many of the rooms had a small kitchen attached so that one could retreat to ones room to have consume the breakfast.

The Staff. Right from the Check In. I was checked in by Rohan and Vishal who were very helpful. The other staff throughout our stay were very courteous and helpful at all times.

Breakfast was good but it was the same menu and same food on all the three days. There has to be some change in the food served. We understand the scrambled eggs are from pasteurized liquid eggs but one cannot have scrambled eggs every day. Possibly a weekly menu which gets rotated every day would have added much more variety to the breakfast buffet.

This hotel is superbly located. The room was spacious, with a functional kitchen area and bathroom space. The bed was large and comfortable, and staff were helpful and cheerful.

The breakfast area gets a bit crowded at times, but that isn't much of a problem, and you can take the food to your room.

We were there for 7 nights. The room was very comfortable and clean. The kitchenette exceeded our expectations and met our needs and more. The breakfast was well timed and plentiful with a variety of items. We appreciated very much having a good breakfast at the start of the day at the hotel itself. The staff were all very professional, polite, welcoming and helpful, going out of their way to attend to our needs. A special thankyou goes to Samiya, Amira and Emmanuel who were there on most days during our stay.

We used the stairwell on most days and it could have been cleaned from some leaves which remained there for some days. During breakfast, it seems the plates were being washed and returned to the shelves for use. Occasionally we found some plates which were not completely clean and had some remnants of scrambled egg.

Spacious family room with 2 comfortable double beds a desk, a couch, a coffee table and still lots of space to move around despite the 5 pieces of luggage we had with us. Lots of plugs for your charge hungry devices. It also had a huge air conditioning unit which cooled the room in seconds after you turned it on. Very convenient location, about 10 mins uphill walk from Edinburgh castle and the Royal Mile but still close enough to everything. This was good as we visited Edinburgh during August when the center was absolutely flooded with people so our location was a little quieter. The staff were very polite and helpful. Overall a great stay.

We visited during August which is the peak period so the increased price we paid was probably driven by this. But it was still a competitive for our dates based on multiple searches I did on Booking and other platforms.

Very nice and spacious room for family of 3 persons with possibility to cook. Excellent location close to the old down and in proximity of nice park. Very easy to reach many historical places by walking.

Renovation of breakfast room just started when we arrived. Had to pick-up the breakfast from smaller room and eat in your room - it was quite OK when you got used to it. Only one lift in the premises caused little bit occasional waiting time.

It was quite central to the centre of the Old Town. Comfortable bed. Good facilities. Very friendly staff. Our room was lovely and warm which was very welcome as the weather was quite cold.

The only problem we had was that the lock on our door wasn’t working and we didn’t realise till quite late at night. There was a security chain on the inside of the door but the door still kept opening slightly. So we had to go to sleep with a fork jammed behind the handle to stop the door from opening. Because of that, I didn’t have the best sleep as I couldn’t settle. It was fixed the following day after I informed the reception staff, but the lock jammed again that night. We had to slam the door hard to get it to lock properly.

I love the facilities, location, and the comfort of the large rooms.

Booking said there were room available, I walked in to book a room rather than through the site because it was 12:30am. The front deal staff had me wait around for 40 mins to eventually tell me the two rooms on the site were “out of service”. I booked a toom for the following night and sent a message asking that if my room become available before 4pm, please let me know.. I was emailed back with “if you booked in advance we would be able to accommodate you.” This was my 4th stay- and I my go to hotel after a ling trip to the highlands.
