It’s in a beautiful part of the city, next to The Meadows (hugr park area). The room was cozy with relatively firm bed, but for my liking very comfortable. The room didn’t have A/C, but by opening both windows, we didn’t feel hot in the room, even under the sheets. The staff was lovely, you get treated like in the hotels in the past. We could leave our luggage on hold for the departure day. Breakfast is also good, it’s a table service and you can order a meal. From city centre it’s a 20.. minute walk, but for us it wasn’t a problem, due to the area around the hotel. There are great places to eat nearby and architecture is also super beautiful.

If you’re not a heavy sleeper, then opening windows for ventilation could be a problem, but at least the road in front of the hotel stayed quite calm and we slept like babys.

It is a fairly old building, but in very good condition. There is a charm in this. The room is very warm, comfortable bed, good water pressure in the shower. I liked the cleanliness of the sheets. There is a coffee machine in the room, I had an incident with the cleanliness of the floor in my room, but the manager Ferris fixed it. Thanks to him, my stay at this hotel was comfortable. The location of the hotel is wonderful, I walked a lot, and in whatever direction you would not go from it, there was a lot to see! There is a convenience store nearby. The cooked hot breakfast was very welcome on a cold morning!

It was a little dirty on the floor in my bathroom, but the manager quickly fixed it.

The staff were really kind and friendly. The hotel was beautiful, traditional, and felt very homely. The room was spacious, including the bathroom. The shower was excellent, great pressure and hot. Excellent facilities. Everything was clean. USB plug sockets beside the bed. The bed was really comfy. The breakfast was really well cooked and tasty. It's a very central location with excellent public transport links nearby. The room numbers are hilarious! We were in room number 213. Rooms 212 and 214 are next to each other and room 213 was at the other end of the corridor! We went at the start of July and, for central Edinburgh, it was pretty cheap and completely exceeded my expectations.

A few bits in the hotel needed touching up, but just very minor bits and pieces. I'd possibly like a slightly larger portion for breakfast, though it pretty much filled me up and was really tasty. The building is an old building and the floorboards make noise. The lighting in the room could use a bit of work, one light didn't work and a main light was quite dim, but it was more than possible to get good lighting in the room.

Our Superior Family Room was a great amount of space for our family! The kids loved having their own room and it was really helpful to have a living room space to spend time. Staff was very friendly and beds were comfortable. Loved the location for a quiet alternative to being right in the city, while being easily accessible by bus to all of the main sights of Edinburgh.

Our room was consistently hot and uncomfortable, since there was no A/C and the windows only opened a few inches. The fans provided did little to help with the stagnant air in the room. Any other time of year probably would have been okay, but it was the hottest part of August! Also, the breakfast was lackluster for the price paid. Had it been included in the price of the room, we would have thought it was decent - but for about $60 USD per day, it was disappointing.

Very good hotel, located in the very heart of Bruntsfield, one of my favorite neighborhood in Edinburgh. The location is perfect for me, 1 minute walk from Bruntsfield Links park, 10 minutes from the Old City, few minutes from a lot of good restaurants. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, I arrived 3 hours before check-in hour, and still was able to let my luggage in a locked room, and do a "pre check-in". The elevator had a problem, so the staff sent someone to take my suitcase to my room afterwards. The place is very quiet, the room was very clean and comfortable, it was quite pleasant to sleep there. I think this hotel is overall very good and is quite worth its price.

Nothing serious, really, to be dissatisfied of. Maybe the only thing I would say here is about the restaurant : the staff is very friendly and welcoming, but I felt maybe they could propose a broader choice in their menu. Also, not much stock regarding whiskies, and the restaurant doesn't serve food every evening.

We really liked some aspects of the hotel. The beds were really comfortable. Cooked breakfasts are made to order and the quality was excellent. The bar is pleasant. The staff could not have been more helpful. It is in a great location out of the city centre, but with very frequent buses into the centre and green space across the road.

But there were some downsides. The decor in the bedrooms was a bit dated and the storage was not well thought out. Some of the corridors are well overdue for re-decorating. My partner has some mobility problems and found the toilet in our room too low to use easily. When we requested a room change, the staff went out of their way to arrange this. The "accessible" room we were relocated to had a much more usable toilet, but had a bath rather than a shower. It would have been very hard for anyone with serious mobility problems (eg wheel chair users) to utilise.

Wonderful large, spacious double room on second floor of a nice hotel. Comfy large double bed with a small night stand on each side of the bed with a lamp and plugsockets. En-suite bathroom, lots of toilet paper, heating, bath towels. Toilet, sink, hand soap, shower. Free tea/coffee/hot chocolate provided, plus sugar, milk and soe small round chocolates. Large breakfast with many options: cooked Scotish breakfast, toast, serials, juice, tea/coffee, mini muffins, fruit, etc. £15 per person. Free on-suite car parking. 20 minute walk to central Edinburgh, a 5 minute walk to a cinema. Good free WiFi in room. Friendly, helpful staff. Lift/elevators with tactile buttons to all floors, including basement, where breakfast is served. Sall restaurant with a few good options, inculding Gammon. Would stay again.

3 steps to the room from the second floor. No tactile room number on outside of door. Lift doesn't announce what floor it's arrived at. Restaurant is a little expensive and not many food choices.

Highly recommend, lovely hotel, professional friendly staff, perfect location - with excellent restaurants and independent shops in Bruntsfield whilst city centre only 20 mins walk or via bus. Hotel room spacious, clean with very comfortable beds, super breakfast. Hotel also has car parking facilities (first come first serve basis) with an EV charger - special mention to extremely helpful staff, Tommy and CJ, who helped resolve issue with EV charger, car fully charged (within 4-5hrs) for return home following day - thank you for perfect stay, will book again when back in Edinburgh in a few months.

Booked online and found this very easy. Reception staff extremely helpful and nice. Beds very comfortable and nice choice of teas and coffees. Bathroom spotless.

As I explained to receptionist when we left, the only downside of our stay was the extremely rude barman. We did arrive close to closing time (although why 10:30??) but he grudgingly said we could have a drink. I asked what wines he had and he practically threw the wine list at us. We sat down to drink our drinks but he came up twice to tell us he was closed and then finally said we could take our drinks and go to our room. Never once did he phrase this in a polite and friendly way but made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Unacceptable and spoiled our otherwise lovely stay.

The room was spacious and clean. Friendly and concerned staff, ready to help whenever needed. We traveled with breakfast included, and it was worth it. The breakfast was diverse and quality, with a buffet and the option to order from the kitchen as well (for example, scrambled eggs or pancakes). Quality juices and coffee were also available. One night we also used the hotel restaurant. Prices are similar to those charged by street restaurants. Tasty food and friendly staff. Great for when it's too cold to go out :)

Although the room has a spacious and renovated bathroom, we noticed the lack of a heater for taking a shower. With the weather being freezing and the size of the bathroom, it wasn´t easy to keep it warm. It would be nice for the shower to have a little more water pressure.
