Good location, clean room and bathroom. Staff were friendly

I had several emails about on line check in and upgrading etc before my stay. The on line check in links did not work, I also was offered an e upgrade to add breakfast - that did not work either. Staff at reception were perfectly nice but not friendly really and also no apology for the fact my online check in didn't work and/or the breakfast wasn't added. Breakfast was ok - lot of choice. They didnt have scrambled eggs as advertised so had to ask for these separately which took ages

Staff were very friendly and helpful with minding out bags while we explored before our room was ready. Breakfast spread had a great variety and offered veggie options in the hot breakfast!

The bathroom wall paper was a bit of a jump scare when you first walked it but once you got used to it I suppose it had some Scottish charm.

The breakfast was a good assortment of options and a nice area to eat in, staff were amazing and it’s very clean. Beds were super comfy and the pillows soft, room was a good size. The bathroom was a little tricky with no exhaust fan so the steam had no outlet therefore condensation within the bathroom. If you’re happy to wander and walk you can get to old town in about 20-25mins but lots to see on the way otherwise there’s taxi’s or Ubers.

Our only issue was we had a 630am international flight so a 345am taxi ordered night before which never turned up. Very lucky we got an uber.

The hotel was in a great location to access the Old Town and the New Town. Very easy to access almost everything, restaurants, bus, tescos, bars etc. Room was spacious and included iron and board.

On booking in we had discovered the price we paid was for 1 double room, but in the smaller print was only for 1 person. The hotel said it was a booking.com issue, and we had to pay another 30 GBP for the extra person The price was out the gate, but it was all we could find in Jan 25 when booked. The price by the the time we arrived had dropped by over 200 GBP but still had to pay the additional 30 GBP. Staff weren't very friendly over the 5 days we stayed. Pleasant but not friendly

The hotel was clean and room was spacious and the staff was nice and helpful! We were able to check in a little earlier which was a huge positive! The location was excellent and it was easy to travel by public transport everywhere we wanted to but not too far so we were able to walk to the attractions.

Only a bit on negative side was that there was three of us but the room was prepared only for two (the couch bed had no sheets) but that happens often when traveling with a group of three. Just a simple request for extra pair of towels and the sheets for the couchbed at the front desk fixed it so not a major issue :)!

We had a comfortable stay, the room has a fridge which is always helpful, we had plenty coffee, tea and milk. It was a clean room and staff were really helpful and accommodating. Parking was onsite and we had no issues. The property is close walking distance to the centre. The hotel is good for a short stay as it meets basic needs.

I’m not sure if this is the case in all rooms, and it’s a strange thing to notice perhaps but the sink was actually too high for a person of 5’3 height. The extending swivel mirror in the bathroom was also too high so it couldn’t be used. We also had a late checkout that we paid for but we had two phone calls and knocks on the door where staff were not communicated this information.

Location to train station, bus and tram routes/tourist attractions. Town centre is walkable - 20 minutes or so. Places to eat/pubs etc close by but we did not use. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Our twin room was as per pictures. Room was clean and housekeeping were very good. Beds comfy. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. The hotel was quiet even though it was busy.

We booked a twin room, so it had a double and a single bed made up from the sofa. I comfy chair in the room would have been most welcome. Just a desk chair or beds to sit on in room. The lobby area was busy and it would have been nice to have had an area away from this to sit and chill. After long days walking and doing touristy things, we found the hotel a little out the way. so we often hopped on a bus to rest our legs! There are no views from this hotel. Either main road at the front or car park at rear. The bag drop off was a little chaotic - all dumped in a room behind the lobby. Took us a while to find our luggage. For the price we paid - after the fringe/festival had finished - nothing special.

Most of the staff are friendly, especially the housekeeping and breakfast teams. The room is clean, and it’s about a 30-minute walk to the old town.

1. I was quite surprised that no slippers should be provided in the standard room, I was told this on the phone when I asked for them. 2. During breakfast, I noticed that one of the waitresses did not clean the table carefully — she simply wiped the spots where guests had eaten. What surprised me even more was that she placed the cutlery on the table by holding the upper part (the part that goes into the mouth) with her fingers. This is something even young children at home understand: when preparing cutlery, one should hold it by the lower end to ensure hygiene. Other staff members were even wearing gloves, so her behavior was quite surprising to me. I sincerely hope this can be improved.

The location was great. Walking distance to the castle and the Mile and Haymarket station.

Water pressure in the shower was low. Initially, one of our bed smelled of urine. When we informed the reception, it was promptly handled.

The location is good, easy access to bus,train and rail links. Booked a standard twin room and the one given was on the 4th floor. Room was a good size and was bright, clean and well decorated and bathroom had a bath with shower over. There is a restaurant and we had dinner there on one night of our stay, and we both enjoyed the food.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic. Good choices available in traditional continental breakfast items but hot, cooked breakfast was lacking in supply on both mornings we were there....not filled back up quickly enough when empty. There was a lack of staff available to ask for anything.. it says on menu if you want scrambled or poached eggs ask...but no staff around. So it's expensive at £13 to have to wander about with a plate wondering when more food going to be put out.
