Very clean comfortable room. Front desk staff was exceptionally nice

The restaurant was disappointing

The staff were all friendly and happy. The decor is good, lots of retro vibes. Everything is new so clean and working. Comfy bed. Huge shower. Fluffy towels. Plenty of hooks and hangers. Safe in the room though we didn’t need to use it. Fresh milk in the fridge. Bargain breakfast in the bag on the door - croissant, pain au chocolat, OJ and an apple for £5. Location is great for Haymarket station, bit of a trek from Waverley though the tram stop is at the end of the road.

Window blind is too short - stops 12” short of the window sill. Light flashed on and off on the thermostat all night (quite noticeable when the room is dark). Only one chair in a room for two. Only one lift though not a problem to take the stairs. Would have liked some green tea.

The Hoxton was an exciting place to stay while in Edinburgh. Minutes away from most places, easy walking paths and a helpful front desk staff. The housekeeping, restaurant & hotel staff seemed to enjoy their jobs. A bonus for us, perhaps; the hotel seemed to have been in its pre-premiere days. The beds, pillows and decor were enjoyable. A unique hotel that gives the feeling of a boutique hotel, but without the pretentiousness.

The Hotel is wonderful. I attribute this mainly to the attention to detail and its newness. The breakfast menu is unique yet there are many tasty dishes. The only issue with the hotel is that breakfast is not included. When making the booking it was possible to add breakfast, but when we arrived we needed to pay it day by day. For several business bookings, this caused a bit of a dilemma, since there was not a set 'breakfast included' menu/price.

The Hoxton is a newly opened boutique hotel in Haymarket. I booked a cozy bunk bed room and they upgraded me to a king which was spacious and super comfortable. I got a very good rate since it was jus opening, I imagine it'll be out of my range when I go back next year. The room had all the amenities you'd expect, a safe, mini fridge with milk/water, a tea kettle, hair dryer. The shower was good and they had bottles of shampoo, conditioner and gel in the shower. The towels were huge and soft. The staff was super pleasant and helpful, at check in they even walked me to my room as some of the directional signage wasn't up yet. Haymarket is well connected by bus, train, and tram to the airport or to Princes Street. It was 15-20 minutes to walk to the tourist area

Some very minor glitches (my overhead lights didn't work, the staff was supposed to bring me more milk but never showed, the hallway lights are not timed correctly) but they will work that stuff out. Haymarket is a little gritty, I saw a guy getting beat up and another guy with blood gushing out of him talking to police. That said, I still felt safe walking around for the most part.

The room was spacious and had a seating area with a table, for work or relaxing, which gave it the feel of a small suite. Everything was luxurious and comfortable. Also, it was quiet at night, apart from the occasional coming and going of other guests, so I slept well without interruption.

The only small deficiency was that there was no mirror suitable for doing makeup. I couldn't get close enough to the shower room mirror because of the sink, and the hallway with the full-length mirror was OK for drying my hair, but too dark for doing makeup.

One of the best hotels I’ve been to. The service is immaculate, I’ve been to hotels with higher ratings that didn’t offer fast service like this one, the room service responds and brings anything I ask for within minutes. The hotel is a bit far away from the center, but there’s a train station called (Haymarket) next to it exactly making it easy for us to arrive at the center within a few minutes. The room was clean, photo worthy, aesthetically pleasing, and offered all the facilities needed

Nothing, everything was perfect

We very much enjoyed our one night stay at the Hoxton in Edinburgh. Its proximity to Haymarket Station was very handy for us and also reasonably easy to walk to and from the Usher Hall. The hotel itself was very trendy with a very spacious reception/seating/bar and coffee area and up to the minute facilities whilst the room provided all the usual comforts with stylish decor. The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. Altogether a very pleasant stay.

A stand for a suitcase in the room would have been helpful.

The room was clean, the shower was amazing, the radio was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable and the window worked. For many hotels in old buildings it is hard to get a draft in the room from the window, this was not an issue.

£300 for one night in a smaller sized room (bunk beds) was on the expensive side in my opinion. The drinks selection at the hotel bar could have been slightly more varied.
