The location is very convenient, close to the centre and main sightseeing points, a few minute walk from the lovely Dean Village . The staff were nice and helpful. The room is spaceous and beds comfy. Everything was very clean. They had hair dryers, which I really appreciate. Nice stay for a good price!

The wifi wasn't working. The room does match the photos in description. It looks a bit like a psychiatric ward (not a lucky choice with the design and white everywhere 😅). Gives you a very unusual experience. If you don't mind, it actually makes it a bit interesting. Apart from that, the stay was very lovely and comfortable.

The area was rather quiet despite Haymarket being nearby, and it was a charming place to walk around. The staff were very welcoming and helpful when I needed assistance, and the rooms were spatious enough considering how many beds there were. There were small lockers as well for your valuables, which came in very handy!

Climbing into the bunk was awkward and sometimes a bit painful. The ladders are painful to step on and there is so little space between the bed and the bunk above it that it's difficult to get in and out, I kept bumping my head every time. Toilet paper tended to run out several times a day, so going was like playing Russian Roulette. Only one of the two cubicles on my floor had a sanitary bin for lady products and it was overflowing and left unemptied for 3 days.

Was clean and amiaizing stuff

I enjoyed staying in this hostel. I loved the easy going nature of the personnel, especially Luke. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen accesible for all the guest which was very practical. Generally speaking it was cleanly. The location is very close to the centre of Edinbourgh.

I had to buy earplugs because of some guests snoring extremely loudly.

From the time I checked in until the time I checked out 3 weeks later, I knew that the five-member staff operating the Hotel were sincerely concerned about all guest. There was the 'morning' info about the weather for the day, for example. Then upon returning at night, you met another member of staff, and they would in essence 'welcome you back', sincerely interested in how the day went. You could of course fix a dinner in the kitchen down stairs and have a glass of wine, not going out all the time. Then a little fun and chats before heading to the room and preparing to get a most comfortable and safe night's rest, prepared for the next day. I really liked the staff and I got along with them well. I spent a few of my evenings just chatting with them and also got to play with a cute dog.

I wished there were events that the hostel coordinated to help guests meet each other. They do have plans for this in the future but not during my stay.

Only one man stay up whole night talking in phone, but the hotel have nothing to do with that. So there is nothing bad from the hotel.

The staff was very friendly. The location was perfect and the rooms were clean. There was a renovation going on, but they kept the inconvenience to a minimum, that was really good of them. The hostel must look even better at the end of it

Maybe just an extra vacuüm clean in the room. Also due to the renovation there was no curtain in the room. Maybe they could have hung something else there instead if they couldn't keep the old ones. But that was just a minor inconvenience for me. The room was quite small though for 6 people and the bathroom light works on movement, but it goes dark again after 3 sec already. That was quite annoying.

Was there for 2 nights my best nights in edinburgh , hostel was in very quiet. Everybody was peaceful and behind the house there is a water walkway which is which was an amazing part of this hostel which most people forget to explore, but if you are booking this hotel, there is water walk behind this host, which may be of interest, otherwise, it’s an amazing stay. People are amazing. Star was amazing. Everyone was amazing

The only thing that I feel was that I was not liking about the property is triple bunkbed situation because it was slightly discomfort for the people who are above 6 feet of height

I strutted from the bus station across downtown Edinburgh to the West End Hotel and felt it was a privilege to come to a hostel which is more like a hotel...The manager Lucas was very courteous, helpful and personally showed me in and provided brochures to introduce me to the Edinburgh museums and sites... There is a well appointed kitchen and overnight laundry service for only £6...The room was large and airy and there is a comfortable bistro in the foyer...The staff is friendly and there are plenty of other interesting travellers to meet...Overall I had a good stay at the West End Hotel in beautiful Edinburgh...😀
