Newly refurbished hotel under the IHG brand. Excellent location opposite Haymarket train station and on the tram and bus route to the airport. Easy 15-minute walk to Princes Street, the local"West End" is surprisingly elegant, and if you fancy a walk, then the Water of Leigh runs behind the hotel down to Leigh. A very comfortable nights sleep with blackout blinds that actually do cover the whole window and, as you would expect,very clean. The hotel is linked to an adjacent sports bar, Platform 5, where you can get discounted dinner or breakfast. As I had to rush out in the morning, I bought a grab and go breakfast from the garner shop.

When we stayed at your hotel, we were genuinely impressed by the exceptional service we received—particularly from Leah, who I believe was the manager on duty that day. She was absolutely amazing: warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Leah was full of useful information and ensured we signed up for the IHG membership, which we truly appreciated. Even after we checked out, she kindly let us stay in the lounge while we waited for our airport taxi. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, and her professionalism and friendliness really stood out. We were also deeply appreciative of how far both Leah and her team that day gone—literally and figuratively—to provide such a high standard of care. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, and we left feeling genuinely looked after. Thank you so much for a memorable stay! We will be back !

Ah, no window freaked us out a little bit, but we got over it 🤣

The location is super, just opposite Haymarket Station. The hotel is modern with nice compact communal areas. The bedrooms are small and best suited to a short stay [which ours was] with very little storage. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size with a good shower unit [plus grab rails and a shower seat]. Great blackout blinds which covered the entire window. We missed having a kettle/tea making facilities in the room. As the hotel is new/newly decorated towels/decor etc. are in very good condition. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. In our experience, this a clean and well maintained hotel.

Our package included breakfast which is not provided by the hotel but at the bar/restaurant next door via a voucher. The food - Scottish breakfast? was self-service and quite greasy. Staff here were disinterested - no cups, no milk, no coffee, nothing cleaned up after guests or tidied away. Probably best if the hotel discontinues this breakfast offering as it is currently set up. Would recommend guests breakfast in other places locally - there are many other, better options.

Very small rooms

Hotel is apparently brand new so I was the first person to stay in the room - didnt expect A/C in Edinburgh so was pleasantly surprised as it was exceptionally hot outside for Scotland. Staff were lovely but obviously new - hotel does look very modern and trendy. Excellent location for station as its just across the road but luckily its not noisy at all

Edinburgh seems very expensive now compared to 5 years ago but the Garner hotel was relatively reasonably priced compared to hotels around the West End.

Lovely comfortable room, great view, fantastic location, huge telly! Staff were incredibly lovely and love that you can buy drinks etc. at reception.

Having extra facilities like fridge, tea, coffee in room would help with making it more value for money. Very expensive for a very basic room. Need to check bottles in bathroom as shower gel and another were empty. Called to change name on booking weeks in advance but this hadn't been done properly on the system which caused confusion

Location location location, right next to the train and tram station. In the heart of the West End. The bed was super comfortable and the shower decent enough. Did not pay for breakfast, much cheaper to eat out at the many local amenities.

The room was somewhat small. Perfect for solo travellers. The WiFi was not that fast, youtube, netflix, forget it.

Was close to the centre of Edinburgh Enjoyed the bar

I always enjoy a coffee first thing id to. Pay 3.50 for a coffee no coffee facilities in the room bed was very small had to pay to park my car most hotels I've stayed in free parking

We did not have breakfast,the location was fantastic,lovley and clean room..just what we needed for one night .

Bathroom door didnt lock..and it was a cosy room we had but i feel they should come with a tea/coffee area or even leave a bottle of water, other than that it was great.

The room was exceptionally small - and there were nt may facilities in the hotel itself but the staff were excellent, as was the location.

Teeny tiny room and quite expensive. A few stairs in the lobby for a heavy bag, some help would have been appreciated.
