We were on our way back from doing the NC500 route and needed a place to stop to continue our journey to the south of England. We found this room that accommodated the four of us and the dog in the same room. The beds were big and comfortable, with a sofa to watch TV and a bathroom with a shower. It had a few extras that made the difference, such as a small fridge for drinks with cold water bottles, coffee, and biscuits. Everything was clean.. You have the restaurant and the pub in the same place. But the 5/5 stars are for the personnel. We were received by Lindsay, who showed us the room and with whom we shared some conversations. The warmth of the people is what makes things more special. I 100% recommend this place, and if you are served by Lindsey, you will receive extraordinary service.
Nothing. Everything was amazing

Cosy little pub on arrival with the locals all extremely friendly. Beautiful outside seating area which is an absolute sun trap with loads of space and a lovely wee aviary with nice wee birds in it. Sanjjay checked us in and we had booked the small double room witch again was lovely and had plenty facilities for tea and coffee. Ensuite bathroom with shower and the bed itself was very comfortable. Satellite tv channels and Netflix. Also a fan to keep us cool. The restaurant was amazing, my partner couldn't decide on fish and chips or the home made steak pie so he got fish and I got steak pie which was melt in the mouth delicious but it was massive and I couldn't finish it so he ended up eating his and the rest of mine. Afterwards we were allowed to take our drinks up to our room which was good as we ate so much we just wanted to chill in bed. We loved it so much we have booked again for the following weekend.

room was spotless as was everywhere else, breakfast was a 24 hour self service with a large array of goodies, more than enough to keep you going all day. the elbow room also has a large restaurant which is very popular with locals and visitors alike, we ate there both nights ( great food ) also there is bar with pool table, satellite tv, darts with a friendly atmosphere. i have stayed in many places over the years and the elbow room was one i was sorry to leave, wonderful staff and great food and that personal touch which is missing in so many places. will i be back you bet
nothing, why change something when it works

Friendly welcoming staff. A good sized room for two (3 person room). The balcony was very good (when the weather played along - it is Scotland). The continental breakfast options are very good.
Breakfast is laid out in the corridor and you help yourself at your convenience. It is very convenient but the room isn't really geared up for eating your breakfast. Our room (Rm 5) had a small folding table to eath breakfast on; the table was a struggle for two people, being quite small and filling the only space, so it would be more challenging had we fully occupied the room (3 persons). It would be fine if the weather permits al-frecso breakfast.

The rooms were really spacious and super clean. There is a small fridge filled with complimentary bottled water in every room and tea and coffee station in every room, there was even sachets of oat milk which was great as I cant have dairy. The help yourself continental breakfast was so nice with loads of things to choose from. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were literally brand new and so clean. I honestly was so surprised at what we got for what we paid. The bar below is very cheap for food and drinks also. Have rebooked to come back in December.
Everything was great, could not fault anything.

Couldn't fault any of it... Staff were both friendly and attentive The pub downstairs is reasonably priced and very well stocked, perfect place for a wee dram The room is well tasted with a neutral colour scheme breakfast is available via the main corridor to your room... Sadly the room are up a spiral staircase at the back of the building (first right before you go past the pub) so aren't disabled accessible but the pub is warm and friendly

Loved absolutely everything Lovely room, super comfortable beds, balcony was lovely to sit out on Staff exceptional and so friendly, went above and beyond Checked in early as room was ready Restaurant incredible We really didn’t want to leave. Gutted we only stayed one night. Attended the kareoke on the Saturday night, and when going to bed couldn’t hear a peep from downstairs. The 24h breakfast in the hallway was amazing, bread, cheese, spreads, cereal, fruit, breakfast bars, juices and milk etc. really can’t fault the place.
The fact we didn’t stay more than one night, we will be back next time we are there for the ice hockey.

Room was lovely clean as always
Didn’t like how they have took away the continental breakfast located in the hall, and now you need to pay extra for breakfast , continental was always included in the price for years, quite a lot of mould in the shower room and it must have been leaking as the bath mat was soaking in the morning before wee had a shower
