Very convenient to visit around Fife and it's localities by car. Not sure about local transport or walking. Excellent choice of breakfast, whether a full Scottish, a lighter choice of cooked breakfast or a Continental breakfast. A* for the hotel's ability to provide a decent choice of gluten free options and I didn't need to remind the staff to give me the right menus - gluten free cereal, bread and toast and a separate menu in the restaurant. Well done! Helpful reception staff and despite the lack of available information, they took the trouble to look up the history of the house and print off for me. Comfortable room and bathroom with sufficient space to move around. Fan provided, although our room was lovely and cool.

Lack of information in our room if you don't have a phone with a QR code reader which was needed to access the Hotel Guide. Although it said that we could obtain a copy from Reception, there were none available. I would have liked to have had more information about local sightseeing spots, restaurants, maybe transport links, without having to continually ask at Reception. Areas of our room (around the desk and chair) were quite dusty and needed a wipe before we could sit down.

The hotel is beautiful. Old building which looks well cared for. Comfortable lounge and dining area. The staff are very attentive and nothing is any trouble. The terrace area was well used as the weather was great, lovely outlook from all rooms. We dined in the restaurant which was very good, generous portions, food was nice and hot too. We were on a bed and breakfast plan, loads of choice for breakfast including fresh fruit, yogurt and pastries. Table service for cooked breakfast which was tasty and hot. Plenty to choose from at the bar including cocktails. Plenty of car parking available and a lift for those not as mobile. All communal areas spotlessly clean, Plenty of seating available.

The pool although lovely and warm like a bath, some unfriendly pool users present. Two lanes are closed off and unbeknown to us these lanes are on a booking service. When we were aware we moved straight away into the main pool but were the topic of conversation thereafter which was off puting. The hotel should make sure guests are aware to book the lanes. The bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in unfortunately but this did not detract from my stay.

I was staying following hip replacement surgery and had an accessible room. This was the best decision I could have made. The staff were all really helpful and accommodating. It felt like home from home. The bathroom was ideal and the surroundings perfect for short walks.

Ideally I would have liked a firmer mattress. The furniture in the room was a little tired. Being dairy intolerant clear allergen information at the breakfast buffet would have been reassuring. Again though, the staff were helpful when asked.

The room was very comfortable; the swimming pool and gym were exceptional. The seating area outside the bar and the gardens was lovely.

There was a used wet towel on the back of the door in the bathroom (easy to miss!) The evening meal was a bit disappointing - we had to wait a long time for the meal, and when it arrived: the steak pie was 'deconstructed' so there was basically just a flat plank covered in gravy, with a metal tin of chips sitting in the gravy? Plus, there were only two vegetarian options - both curry.

The swimming pool and sauna were well looked after , very clean tidy changing rooms and showers had lovely soap products for use . The meal was delicious and the restaurant staff very welcoming . Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. Spa staff were informative and polite. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and there is a nice terrace to sit out, if the weather is good. The hotel is very central in glenrothes and you can drive to the falkland estate within 15 mins for some lovely walks . Easy to get to kirkcaldy for the seaside it was only 20 mins away by car.

The plumbing, toilet not flushing each time used the hot tap not working unless you shake it a bit.The high pitched noise coming from above in another room sounded a bit like a fan switching on .

Great service all around, ordered the full cooked breakfast a little late but they still fulfilled the order and it was very tasty. Great hotel and staff, would definitely go there again if I was in the area

Great breakfast with large portions, hot plates, good coffee, and plenty of choices. Super friendly service.

The room was large and could accommodate an extra small bed for extra family member. The bathroom had a tub shower and walk in shower. We had dinner and breakfast at their restaurant, both were great. We used this location for touring the St Andrews area for our last day in Scotland and being close to the Edinburgh airport for the next morning. The manager of the hotel was very friendly and made sure to talk to us several times, which I've never had at any other hotel I've stayed at, either in Scotland or Canada.

The extra bed they put up was close to the door to the hallway and we stayed there during a euro match with Scotland. Many guests after the match was finished kept banging our door and my daughter thought they were coming into our room.

All facilities were immaculate and available - even over the Christmas time. Staff could not have been more helpful. When housekeeping noticed that I had a cold, they left lemon/ginger etc herbal teas to help, which really cheered me up.

The room service menu could have been a little more varied. But that might have been due to the festive season. The restaurant meals were great, especially the beef olives!

From arrival to departure the staff encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, spotless and well equipped. The huge grounds were well tended and planted up with attractive flowering shrubs and trees. IThe area was very peaceful and I slept well. The breakfast, held in the formal dining area was plentiful and the ' full Scottish' including tattie scone was delicious. I chose not to use the pool, or spa area due to my time constraints but they looked very good. All in all, my stay exceeded my expectations and was great value
