The property was very clean had friendly and helpful staff. We ate in the Restaurant and the food was delicious and great value with generous portions.

We were out of our rooms at 1100 and were getting picked up at half twelve, the hotel is completely locked up until 1500 with no bar service or anywhere to sit and wait, we had to sit in the beer garden which has no shelter but we were lucky that it was dry. Maybe this is in the small print when we booked but I think it should be highlighted in better detail.

Location very good for local sights and an easy drive to St Andrews centre. Plenty car park spaces. Comfortable room with adequate facilities (I didn't book one of the more expensive rooms). Hot water and good pressure in shower. Restaurant is in keeping with CoachHouse style and evening menu was excellent. I had award winning haggis and black pudding tower and locally sourced fish with triple cooked chips. Worth the drive for meal alone. I didn't have breakfast. Staff really friendly and attentive. As a solo traveller I felt well looked after for my 2 days. Good selection of beer and whiskey. Inn is full of character and lovely outside spaces for seating. Really well maintained grassy areas. Recommend and would stay again.

Because of the layout of cottage rooms, there was little natural light in Room 1 and for privacy I kept blinds closed. However, I was directly opposite main inn entrance so very handy. The shared external door for rooms 1 and 2 slams loudly so a sign requesting to close slowly would help. Bus stop into St Andrews wasn't as accessible as I'd thought. Involved walking on uneven grass verge of main road for approx. 7 mins. I drove in the end, having trialled the walk. These points wouldn't stop me staying again or recommending to others, its a lovely traditional inn steeped in history and character.

Enjoyable stay. staff were friendly and thoughtful. We had a group of 21 for an evening meal which all enjoyed and everyone ate at the same time which was nice. There was a great choice for breakfast which was also very good. The coffee machine was broken in one room however once reported was replaced by the time we returned at night but in the interim we were supplied with a flask of coffee.

Not being able to contact the hotel directly caused some stress, all contact was through the central reservation centre. Trying to book the meal took about 3 days to confirm between missed calls( I was unable to answer at work and when I phoned back it was the central reservation centre who answered and were unable to put me through to the hotel even though it had only been 5 mins from them phoning). Tea and coffee not stocked up in 2 rooms had to go and ask which was happily supplied

My husband and I had a 3 night stay, with our small young dog. The plus side was that there was easy access to the grassed area outside so when our dog needed to go outside we could make a swift exit from the room. The room was a good size especially as we had a dog crate. Plenty of storage Bed was large and comfortable, we could control the room temperature which was a bonus. Bathroom whilst a little tired provided hot water and was clean so everything we needed. Breakfast was sooo tasty, plentiful and service was excellent. Would definitely stay again. Thank you 😊

Nothing to complain about!

We stayed for one night at The Inn at Lathones In September 2025. The room was a double bedroom and was very clean with good facilities. The menu at dinner had a wide range of choices for each course and our meal was exceptional, probably one of the best meals we have had. Breakfast was also excellent with a wide range of choices. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We would highly recommend The Inn at Lathones for a meal or stay and we will definitely be back.

There is nothing we didn't like about our stay.

The Inn location was ideal for what we wanted to do. However our room was right on the main road, so very noisy. The room itself was a bit tired and would have benefited from a large rug on the floor and a couple of comy chairs. However the bed was super comfy and the room was nice and warm. Again the bathroom, although roomy and serviceable, could have done with some tlc. The dining room and food were excellent and staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Lovely hotel in a nice countryside setting. Handy for exploring St. Andrews and the Fife coastal villages. The room was very comfortable and there were good choices for breakfast and evening meals. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

The room provided everything we needed but a second comfortable chair would have been nice. Both room and evening meal cost almost twice the price of other hotels were were staying at during our holiday for similar rooms / meals - but Fife is possibly just a more expensive place to visit.

Fabulous room - spacious, well furnished and very clean. Extra towels and toiletries would have added to the luxury feel. Quality ingredients and care taken in cooking and presentation of food. Liked that breakfast was served and no buffet. Lovely, friendly staff, working very hard in the restaurant to have everyone served as efficiently as possible. GM very professional, friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately first impressions were not good. As we drove in we felt the exterior of the property was in need of some upgrading, also reflected at reception. However once greeted by the GM we felt very welcomed and, once shown to our room which had obviously been upgraded, well decorated and furnished, warmed to the place very quickly.

Great central location within Fife. The evening meal we had was exceptional and the array of cottages with their own individual door a bonus.

No hot water from the shower or warm radiator in the Shower Room on arrival. However quickly remedied the next day. Good supportive mattress, however the two pillows provided were unfortunately far too soft resulting in a sore neck each morning. Property could do with some external maintenance. I understand however the inn had fairly recently changed hands so probably on the management’s,’to do’ list.

The staff are super friendly, efficient and helpful. We stayed before my son’s wedding and it was lovely, special thanks to Mick for helping organise a light lunch for my 84 year old dad, couldn’t have done enough for us!! Dinner ( for 21 of us ) and breakfasts were AMAZING!! Meals served very quickly and staff always on hand for anything we needed. Lovely lovely stay. Thanks everyone!!!! Hopefully we’ll be back!!
