Stayed 2 nights at Hotelday Sun Moon Lake. The hotel is strategically located next to Sun Moon Lake and it is opposite the Wenwu Temple. The round the island public bus stop is also in front of the hotel makes it a very convenient place to stay. The hotel design is a mixture of modern contemporary and Chinese influences. Very cozy and comfortable. They provide breakfast and "supper" for most of the rate plan, however the "supper" has a very limited variety and it is only open from 8.30pm onwards.  The room was cleverly designed, with the shower and WC separated and the vanity was located outside.  My room was located at level 2, though there was a balcony but there was no view, blocked by all the trees. If you prefer to have room with view over the lake, you have to book higher floor otherwise it is as good as not having a balcony. There is a roof top bar on level 7. The view was amazing, minimum spend per person is required. Generally, it was a pleasant stay.

This hotel is a great experience when traveling to sun moon lake. We enjoyed every aspect. The room was fantastic, the terrace, the dining, the staff, and the amenities were all good. The wifi was superb. The nature and temple mixture is unforgettable. Walk down the path to see the lake and enjoy the beauty.

There is not a lot of wiggle room for changing rooms so make sure you book the type of roon you need. Booking confirmed a twin room but I thought I booked a double for our honeymoon. Upon arriving the hotel staff said there was no availability to change rooms. They did their best to accommodate us, but it's important because small details really matter here. There is also no flexibility for late check out.

The breakfast buffet is excellent with the outstanding sun moon lake view, and we also have a good time with reception when we just arrive.

The level of our room is under ground so there is no view to find the sun moon lake.

room restroom has smoking smell. there is no air cleaner ,only can use air fresh spray to solve the problem.

The location is nice.

The curtain doesn’t close properly so it very bright given sunrise at 5am. When I arrived the shower drain were blocked so water was overflowing the floor and I had to cut my shower short. Also the TV didn’t work so had to call someone in and it took him 20 min to fix it, broke again the next day but I didn’t bother to ask again.
