What can be said about a cabin on the beach. Our host (Martin) was the best. He went above and beyond what I expected. The location and the view of the lake were awesome. Planning to return next year.

First let me say Martin was beyond fabulous! He called us several hours before our arrival to offer us a beach cottage (for a small fee, totally worth it!) that opened up…this man truly keeps the resort beautiful with amazing flower beds and simply goes the extra mile for guests and he is so thorough at checkin to relay any information about our specific cottage, really he was the BEST! The cottages we stayed in were older but clean, tons of towels, new queen mattresses and pullout sofa bed. Can’t beat the views of bridge and Mackinaw! The beach is so great and was very quiet and family friendly with fireworks on Friday night over the water in front of our cabin. There are new cabins on the property that have cooking facilities but they were full up. We didn’t use the pool because who needs that when you have God’s big pool. Martin called a Shepler’s bus to pick us up and return us to the property after our ferry trip to Mackinaw. We’d stay again.

There really was no way to fix food (other than microwave and small fridge with freezer)if you stayed longer than a couple of days (in the Older cottages). I say this because it is very expensive to eat locally. $80 for Starbucks for 5 ppl and same price for Chinese takeout. Wasn’t thrilled about carpet in such a sandy beach spot but the carpet was free of sand and well maintained. The bathroom sink was very small but worked fine and there is also a small sink in the kitchen.

The cabin was clean and cozy. It was a single room with two beds and a small table. The fridge was bigger than expected, and the property manager went out of his way to make sure we had anything we needed for our stay. He even went so far as to get us appliances we needed, such as a toaster, a spatula, and steak knives. Though the weather was a little chilly, we were able to enjoy walks on the beach, searching for petosky stones and the beautiful sunsets behind the Mackinac Bridge. Great location!

The only thing that was a little troublesome was that the "kitchenette" wasn't quite what we were expecting. We planned to make some meals at our cabin, and it worked for the most part, but it was hard to wash anything in the shallow sink.

The cottage we stayed in was super cozy, cute, and functional. We stayed in cottage #29 and it had two neatly made and clean beds, a clean and bright bathroom, a mini fridge, coffee maker, kitchen sink, a table to sit at, and an arm chair, a couch, plus a tv and wifi. It sat right on the beach where there’s several sitting areas, fire pits, and a volleyball net. Super peaceful and relaxing. The manager was super friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome and gave us good advice on ferry’s and getting to Mackinac island. We didn’t bring swimsuits but there’s also a heated indoor pool at the cottages you could swim in if the lake was too cold for you.

One thing that was frustrating is that there was only one outlet to charge our phones and it was in the kitchen which was inconvenient for using our alarms to wake up.

Loved that it was a small cabin vibe with private bathroom right on the water. I was 35.5 weeks pregnant when we stayed so it was like getting the camping vibe without me having to crawl in/out of a tent or walk a mile to the bathroom every 30 min. We last minute wanted to stay an extra night and the manager was so sweet and upgraded us to a bigger cabin for our entire stay (so I would be more comfortable) for no upcharge. Saved us close to $180. Will definitely stay again, but with our little one external! :)

The only minor issue we had was that the mini fridge has a freezer part that isn't really separated so the whole thing is a freezer (couldn't drink my frozen OJ).I think there was a way to turn that temp down but by the time we figured it out we were getting ready to leave.

The cottage was good. Upgrade to the beach front and after staying would not have it any other way! Beautiful sunrise on the beach and fire pit and sun set with bridge view at night. The bed was comfortable the cottage was not upscale but just okay and worked for us. Thank you for having us.

Honestly there was minor issues but nothing that was a deal breaker. Like the TV could not be seen from the bed that had shelves next to bed. The other bed had no shelves so had to put glasses phones etc on dresser.

The location was superb, right on the beach. The cottage itself was delightful, clean comfortable and cozy with a good sized bathroom and little kitchenette. Downtown Mackinaw City is a 10-15 mins walk away and if you have booked the ferry across to Mackinaw Island with Sheplers, they run a free shuttle that will pick you up/drop you off. Our host (also called Martin) was very friendly and made sure to check in with us a couple of times during our stay. We also had the bonus of seeing fireworks over the lake on Sat night which our girls loved!

Nothing to mention.

The location is perfect in our opinion. The fire pit right by the beach, with the views of bridge are amazing at night. The bed was comfortable. Shower was very clean & had great pressure. If you like to walk, you can easily walk to get an ice cream or to the shops & restaurants. The fireworks were a real bonus, while we enjoyed the fire pit.

My only criticism would be the pool. It looks like the bottom needs a coat of fresh paint.
