The location is great to be on the beach and walking distance to the ferry to go to the island. Staff was excellent. No complaints with them. Yes, the place is older and is showing its age. But our room was in working order. I was extremely surprised to receive an upgrade to a suite as I had booked third party and not directly with the hotel. We'd stay there again.

The pool was cold and had a lot of sand. But again, its right on the beach. I watched parents take kids from playing on the beach to playing in the pool. So I know why there was so much sand and almost impossible to keep up.

Room: The beds were comfortable. The tub had jets in it, which was a pleasant surprise. There was a sliding door that separated the wash area from the rest of the room, which was cool. The AC for the room was amazing! The breakfast area had plenty of space, so it didn't feel like you were sitting in someone elses lap. Breakfast was good and had a decent variety. The staff were all very friendly.

There were stains on the blanket and sheets on one of the beds in our room. Breakfast had hard boiled eggs, which were peeled, but the one i ate still had little shell pieces on it and the room itself was a little uncomfortable, temp wise.

The family enjoyed the stay. I dont like the fact that the pool and hot tub is in between the two buildings. Then the hot tub has so much chemicals in it that it ruined my clothing and also burnt our eyes when we was in the room. Then the second night we went back and the pool was actually hotter then the hot tub and the hot tub had less chemical smell to it. The breakfast wish it was in the main lobby and not across the other building. The need regualr size pillows in the room and not small ones. Other then that everything was great

The location is great for taking the ferry to Mackinac Island. Also appreciated the hard work and calm displayed by the woman in charge of the breakfast area. She was slammed on Sunday morning and tried her best to accommodate the steady stream of people for breakfast. She did it all alone -- and there was hardly any let up in the number of guests

More help with the breakfast area on Sunday morning. When there is a rush of people that doesn't let up, there should have been more help for the sole person who had to deal with a huge number of guests

Location, the AC worked well, tvs were new, we had a nice little fridge and microwave and the rooms were good size

The breakfast was missing a nice warm egg. The tub bottom was broken, and the drain in the tub needed to be snaked or at drain which I told the receptionist. And nothing was done about it so we had to shower with potentially other people's DNA in the tub. I also asked them to make the beds and that didn't happen either.

The breakfast was Ok. Wish they had biscuits and gravy

My wife got up there for breakfast even though me and my grandchild was still eating they locked the door at 9am and wouldn't let her in. So she missed breakfast. I think they could have made a exception since there was plenty of food left that was most likely thrown away.

Booked a Lakeview room, definitely delivered. Actually had an in-room jacuzzi as well, which was an unexpected plus. Room also came with a refrigerator and microwave, which is rare these days. Within walking distance of a ferry to mackinaw island. It was a good room, for a good rate, in a good location with friendly, professional staff. Would recommend and book again

Could've been cleaner, but not nasty by any means. And if you're looking for modern, keep looking. Did not check out the pool or breakfast, so cannot speak on that.

I liked the location. I also liked soaking in the hot tub. The beach was very nice. The air conditioning worked very well also. The relative nearness of many restaurants was also very handy. :)

There was a ring of grime on the hot tub at the full water level. Almost like a ring of greasy grime from other hot tube users. That was a real turn off. We cleaned it up best we could with what we had. There were also a few food particles on the floor that hadn't been vacuumed up...

Loved the location! Being right on the beach and being able to see the boats and the birds, and hear the waves was exceptionally nice. The room was decorated nicely.

The room was very dirty, cobwebs everywhere. The carpet was dirty and around the firmness looked like it hadn't been cleaned on yrs. The wallpaper on the bathroom had a huge cut in it and was peeling back and some outlets didn't work so the room was quite dark. The "breakdast room" was not very accessible. It was located on the 2nd floor worth no elevator and I am disabled. The redeeming grace was definitely the location and kind staff.

The staff was friendly and amiable. Our room was exceptional. I explained how someone was travelling with us who couldn't walk long distances and they nicely found a room for us that was close to the elevator, parking, and the beach. The hotel was older but rooms were beautiful and well taken care of. We enjoyed our stay here and definitely plan to come back!! 💜

We tried the free breakfast one day and never went back because it was very crowded and they ran out of food (which was mainly 'heat and serve' pancakes and ham slices). The pool wasn't working for half the week we stayed. When it was working, it was a great amenity though! (They offered us to be able to use multiple other hotel pools along the same street but we didn't). Also, if you are staying multiple days, you have to go to the lobby and ask for housekeeping before 9am daily.
