When we arrived at The Sun Hill Renato welcomed us and gave us a tour. He explained this was his passion and it really showed. Renato and his wife Rosanna could not do enough. The room was spacious and the bed sheets/towels were changed 3 times in our 10 day stay. The pool was heated but it was a cool refreshing temperature. A lot of reviews mention the breakfast and it really is great. As well as the fruit plate, yoghurt, freshly made cake and toast Renato cooks something different every day. We had pancakes, omelette, avocado on toast and a range of other things. We also had freshly made orange juice and I had a cappucino every morning. Renato even brought us homemade ice lollies and ice cream by the pool There is a fridge available in the wine cellar for guests use as well as a fridge with cold water for each room. We hired a car which was handy to get around however an uber to get into Lagos Old Town took 10 minutes and cost between €6-9. Ubers were very easy to order to the hotel. We could not have had a better time at The Sun Hill!! Thank you Renato and Rosanna

We absolutely loved our stay at The Sun Hill. Renato and Rosanna are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome from our arrival until our departure. We had a spacious room on the first floor and enjoyed using the pool area to relax during our stay. There is a guest fridge to store items if you wish and you can buy beer and wine from Renato's cellar if you wish. Renato prepares breakfast every morning and this is included in the room rate. Come with an appetite - each morning there is fruit and yoghurt and home baked cake followed by whatever Renato is cooking on the day. I don't usually eat breakfast but I had to make an exception here :-) This is the best place we have stayed on our whole trip through Spain and Portugal. You feel like you are family or good friends by the end of the stay. Renato even took my husband to his barber while we were staying so he could get a hair cut.

Renato & Rosanna are such a welcoming couple. We stayed at their five room B&B for 7 nights and were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. Their Breakfast was freshly cooked/prepared daily with a variety of fruit, Greek yogurt, Omelettes, and much more made From their homegrown ingredients. Nothing is to much trouble. We don’t drive abroad which is not a problem as Uber & Bolt are super reliable and took us to Lagos and Alvor. This location is remote and a good place to unwind from day to day stresses. This is the place to stay when you are in the Algarve. I had a wonderful time at The Sun Hill. The hospitality of Renato and Rosanna was wonderful. The house is beautiful. Renato put a lot of care and detail in building this home. My room was very comfortable, very clean and very relaxing. The highlight was the saltwater pool and having breakfast poolside. Each morning Renato personally made me breakfast. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. I enjoyed my conversations with Renato each morning while having breakfast. The hospitality and the personal care of Renato was amazing. The Sun Hill is only about 10 to 15 minutes from the city center of Lagos. It was a great home base to visit both the Algarve and Costa Vicentina. When I go back to the Algarve, I will definitely stay at The Sun Hill.

Everything was very clean, comfortable. You can feel you are at home, Renato and Rosanna take care of everything, even any little detail. The location is great and super calm you can connect with the nature but also you are very close to Lagos . The mattress and pillows were super comfortable. The pool is amazing, it is salty water.

If i could add 1 star more I would!! Hospitality is Taylor made and superb; Renato&Rossana helped me to organize a surprise birthday breakfast and it was so fantastic! Location is quite and the space you can enjoy is vast. Sport area, warmed pool and a more than furnished canteen with wines and beers; Breakfast was every day different and we loved the passion that they gave to present the morning news; Umbrella for Beach was kindly given by them and even solar protection; Really a fantastic choice!

Our stay was spectacular - it is clear that Renato & Rosanna have a passion for running their accommodation! Our stay included great breakfasts each morning, great opportunity to use the pool, storage of personal food & drink in a communal area, water in chilled thermoses to take to the beach, and other small touches that make staying here very relaxing. The room was also very spacious, clean, and modern. Definitely recommend and when we come back to the Algarve, we will be staying here!

The hosts were the friendliest people. So kind, helpful and funny. They made the experience of staying there so enjoyable and memorable. The breakfast was so delicious. The place is so tranquil given it's a little bit out of town but it's not too far out of town so it's still very convenient. I would strongly recommend staying here.

A nice little residence on a hilltop near Lagos. Very silent (there is no TV in the room - which was an advantage in our case). Personnel is totally friendly, there is free parking inside the fence. Breakfast is served and it is OK, of course not comparable with a big hotel's offer, in exchange it is personally and freshly made. Pool is clean and warm. It was a very pleasant stay.

Everything!! Small 5 room hotel. The hosts are amazing and cook fresh breakfasts every morning using local fresh ingredients. Great location only 7 minutes drive from the center. Very private and quiet. And no children to spoil your afternoon pool time. Free parking. Very communicative hosts. We were provided a welcome snack and glass of sparkling wine upon our arrival. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Lagos area. Thank you Renato and Rosana for a wonderful visit.
