The owners were brilliant. We arrived a little late but were there to greet us. Our request at breakfast was deal with and we had a brilliant stay. We even got to use the little kitchen to cook a couple of meals. It's a little walk from the town but in the lovely weather of the Algarve it's no problem at all. We have stayed in various places in Silves but can honestly say this is one of the most enjoyable. I'm sorry but I've forgotten the names of the two owners, but they were brilliant and so friendly.

A bit of a tidy up around the pool and the broken stuff should really be removed, but don't let that put you off.

The place is lovely, with stairs and terraces, orange tree and a swimming pool. The owner built it with his own hands. There was no water kettle but the lady of the house brought me an beautiful old kettle with hot water. And breakfast is a lot, alll delicious. Everything in the hotel shows dedication. My room was fine, good bed, good bathroom, lovely private terrace with a great view

The vibrant centre of the town was quite a walk away

Everything was great. My three friends and I had a lovely one night stay and got to swim in the swimming pool which was very refreshing. Madelaine and her son Andre were very accomodating, friendly and flexible hosts. The breakfast which is included in the price and which we were able to have on the beautiful terrace overlooking the orange orchard was incredible (just like in the movies). Thank you Madelaine. I can highly recommend this place.

Everything was wonderful in the very little details! I regret not staying there longer. The owners are authenticaly sweet and ready to show you a real Portuguese experience (which you can also feel in the neighbouring café after work hours). The garden is AMAZING with ripe, fresh oranges you can pick and eat. The breakfast with the attention of the owner is by itself a sufficient reason to come.

Nothing. I regret not staying longer. Just avoid late night calls from friends on another time zone as it may wake up the neighbours. I gave my apologies to the man who nicely came to tell me he heard me.

We loved our room which was a good size and overlooking the fabulous garden and pool. The breakfast was substantial and wholesome and the service was delightful. The location is perfect to explore the Algarve.

The mattress was a little bit too firm for me as I have arthritis but the bed size was great.

Sarah made the stay memorable. She is very warm and welcoming. Breakfast was a variety of fresh fruit and other tasty food served on the deck overlooking the orange tree garden, with birds singing and going about their business. It was lovely. On our second stay, Sarah provided milk and cereal to meet my diet needs. The nature surrounding the property is spectacular--lots of birds, orange trees, and peace. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The building is a beautiful, old, well-built structure. The two-part key to the hallway door was something I hadn't seen before.

On my second stay, the bed was softer than I like.

Andre was a fascinating and helpful host-we could have talked to him all day! He prepared a fantastic breakfast, served on a sunny veranda outside the exquisite wine cellar and original kitchen. He sent us off with freshly picked avocados and oranges from his beautiful orchard . Our room had a balcony with beautiful views over the countryside. I definitely recommend Vila Sodre and would like to return!

The owner was kind. The room was very clean and the breakfast was good. If you have a medium-big pet though make sure to tell her in advance.

Breakfast is served in a lovely garden with orange trees and it is copious! But beautifully presented with different preserves and fruit every day. If the weather isn't hot enough to eat in the garden it is served in the 'adega'. A wonderful room lined with vintage port bottles and traditional Portuguese furniture. It was interesting to chat with our host about the local history and culture. The swimming pool is private next to the garden and we enjoyed relaxing there after visiting the town.

We liked everything ....

This is the kind of place that seems quiet in the winter and would come alive in the summer. Still pleasant in the winter though! Really it’s like most of the other reviews here, it’s all about the hostess and her pleasant and helpful nature.

Can’t really think of much honestly. As we were hiking off season we’ve always managed our expectations at any place we stayed. Here those expectations were all exceeded!
