Unbelievable value for money. People who have made negative comments should bear this in mind. I enjoyed the fact that I could divide my time between the short walk into town for exploring with relaxing by the pool. There are a few different areas that you can place a lounger, in sun or shade. Or you can relax on the cafe/ bar terrace. Something for everyone. The staff were professional, friendly & helpful. Despite not officially offering lunch, they made me a toastie when I arrived probably too late for lunch elsewhere. The prices in the bar are very reasonable for a hotel: a toastie, 2 shandies & a port for €11. Stunning view of the castle lit up at night makes it the only place I’d come back to stay again in this town.

Yes, it can be noisy with poor sound-proofing. I asked for a room on the top floor, which meant I got no balcony but worth considering if you are very noise averse. I also used earplugs so I slept fine.

It was very well located, calm area. Walking distance from the city. The pool was a really good edition to the place.

The really annoying part was the noice in the morning. We were staying on the ground floor, the dining room was right above us, therefore from 7:30 it was impossible to sleep as everytime someone moved the chair, I felt like they were scraping the floor in my room. And it was basically nonstop in the morning.

I have stayed here many times going back many years. The place hasn't really changed at all in that time which is good and bad. However, the good outweighs the bad:- Ample parking Great views from back of hotel (which includes bar and breakfast areas) to the town and Castle Very well kept gardens. Good pool and lounging area. Located out of town but it's only a short walk over the bridge. Prices in low season can be incredibly cheap and the price includes breakfast which is quite a good one.

Cold rooms and dark too at back of hotel (although some do have a substantial terrace) The place could really do with some updating but as in my other comments, the good points outweigh bad by some margin. The guests' lift doesn't go all the way to the bottom floor (but the service lift does) A little inconvenient if lugging suitcases as stairs are involved.

We were lucky to have a room on the valley side overlooking the old town and castle so had a fantastic view! We could also see the storks nesting opposite, which was a bonus. Great location, only 10 minutes walk to Silves old town. Spacious room and open plan breakfast area with a terrace, a good continental breakfast, very good value. Good to have a heater in the room for the winter months, ample parking area.

It could get quite noisy if people were chatting in the reception area and on the terrace. Room doors banged quite loudly when shutting them. We appreciated the scrambled eggs at breakfast but they were often cold as they were left uncovered by other guests, so would be good to have a warming plate.

Hard beds 😭 THE STAFF PUT A BEDDING TOPPER ON FOR ME AND IT HELPED. This hotel exceeded my expectations but I do hope they get new beds as I would find it hard to sleep on what they provide at the moment without a topper. Maybe some bespoke toppers would help. Them to keep the same beds but increase comfort for the customer.

Its location was perfect for us with just a short walk into the main area. Had some UK TV available too. On arrival we were located our room, unfortunately as a walk in shower was needed because of disability, it wasn't suitable. However, after a visit to reception, a lovely gentleman who had checked us in said he could allocate us a suitable room the following day. (Husband didn't request it on our booking so completely out fault). However , the he following morning, we was promptly offered the room with a shower. This same lovely gentleman personally went to check if it was ready. I was hoping to see this man again on departure to repeat my gratitude. Unfortunately he wasn't there. I didn't get his name, but thank you sir. The staff in the bar was lovely, as we're the staff at breakfast time. All in all a very enjoyable stay. We will go again, that's for sure. Excellent customer service by all.

The first day after arriving the toaster wasn't working well but was soon rectified. There's no microwave in the area which would have suited us as food temperature was medium. Quality was good and varied for a continental breakfast.

Fabulous view of the castle from our room, including at sunrise and sunset. Excellent pool area to relax in the afternoon, and a short walk into Silves to explore the town and have dinner. Good secure bicycle storage. The colleague on reception allowed us to check in a couple of hours early which was very helpful.

Parts of the hotel felt a little old fashioned. The bread at breakfast was excellent but some other foods could have been better, and one of the coffee machines was out of order.

Loved the breakfast they catered for my gluten intolerance. We could see the castle from our balcony..the swimming pool was amazing, it was nice and clean. Hotel within walking distance of restaurants, supermarkets and tourist attractions.

The doors bang when you close them..so between 7 am and 9am it was hard to stay asleep.

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the last 14 years. Good to see some of the staff who were there when we first went are still there now. It's a basic hotel, but I think it is quite charming. Very reasonably priced. Perfectly adequate breakfast. The view across to the castle is amazing.

Still not too keen on the breakfast coffee.

Just a few minutes' walk from the centre/old town/bus stops. Excellent showers, and plentiful breakfast. (Why am I reading winges about the breakfast? What are people expecting for this price? There was fruit, yogurt (albeit long life,) scrambled egg , ham/salami type meats, cheese, jam (packaged, but adequate), bread, coffee, fruit juice etc - all included in the price of the room. Altogether excellent value. Faces the castle, just over the other side of the river

Maybe a little soul-less in the winter, when I went. Receptionist did everything efficiently, but would have been nice if he could have smiled! I'd go there again though.
