Staff were exceptionally attentive and caring, going out of their way to make our stay wonderful. In fact, upon arrival we were upgraded to a larger room. Breakfast was a highlight of our day, with an enormous variety of choices. This was our second visit to Peppers in Palm Cove and from the very beginning, we were made to feel like family. The staff obliged my spouse's request for buckets of ice 3 times a day so he could continue his knee replacement rehab. Shortly before we were to leave, Cyclone Alfred impacted our departure by causing airports to close and our flights to be cancelled. Peppers staff worked their magic to accommodate our unexpected but necessary extended stay in their fully-booked facility, even keeping us in our same room for the additional week.

The arrival of Cyclone Alfred, which stalled offshore for 2 weeks before moving south to our connecting airport in Brisbane!

The pools were fantastic and very enjoyable. However, the bar service could use more staff, especially during the busy season, to keep up with demand. The room was nice and modern, but for a five-star resort, the kitchen cupboards were damaged. The second bedroom is more suitable for kids than adults sharing as it is only separated by sliding doors and once locked that room has no air conditioning.

The check-in staff member was great, but I was disappointed with the booking process. I booked through Booking.com for 6 adults and 3 children, but after making a non-refundable payment, the confirmation showed 6 adults and 1 child with a free cot. This led to a long and embarrassing check-in process, no cot provided, and my 2-year-old had to sleep with mum and dad. I also had to pay extra for 2 trundle beds.

The atmosphere was great. The male staff were excellent friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic and loved the paperbark trees.

There were two down lights on the wall of the balcony next to us. They lit I our room like a Christmas tree We closed the shutters and covered every gap with towels and pillows to no avail. Made sleeping very difficult. We didn't seek a room change because the resort seemed full and we didn't want to waste time. Asked for a couple of plates and cutlery from the restaurant and were treated like thieves by the female kitchen staff Disgraceful behaviour. Similarly each morning when we went for breakfast we found the female staff rude. Two or three serving one customer Ignoring any others waiting for s table but quick to greet a colleague and sometimes even walked away with the colleague for a chat before acknowledging the people they were supposed to be there for. Immature behaviour

Location and facilities were excellent. The resort is located opposite the stinger enclosure and close to cafes and restaurants. The pools are absolutely gorgeous.

We had an ocean view room however it was located on the 1st floor and overlooked the huge tented area. There were two exterior lights located just outside our room which was a bit annoying as they were on all night. If you're booking an ocean view room ask for the 2nd floor. Also there aren't any lifts so you will need someone to help carry luggage.

I loved the pool and swim up bar. The facility is beautiful. I had a spa room and it was lovely. Staff at the restaurant were lovely, even though I only enquired and didn't eat there.

Parking. When arriving you need to find a park before you check-in and are given the pass to enter the carpark. There is not much street parking around. It was raining and I had to walk 3 blocks to reception to check in and then 3 blocks back before I could enter the carpark. On leaving, I decided to park out the front of the hotel where it says 'no parking.' I mentioned this to the reception manager when checking out. He said that yes, we could park there when checking in and out, and that maybe there should be a sign there that says it's for guest check in/out only. I said that would be lovely. So - note that if staying there. I found reception not particularly friendly. Cordial perhaps.

The facilities are amazing - lovely garden setting on the main street of Palm Cove. My studio room was lovely - overlooked the pool, spacious, clean, great bathroom. Breakfast is very nice with generous serving hours and a good selection of options (fruit, cereal, breads, pastries, hot choices, coffee/tea/juice etc) The main pools are fantastic - beautiful temperature, clean, lots of lounges and areas to sit. Swim up bar is ok (see reference later).

I had only two small issues (and I've stayed here before and these are 'new'): 1. Leaf blowers. The noise generated by these things is horrible. They started around 7:45am and continued intermittently for a few hours. Around the pool where people are trying to relax. It needs to stop. 2. The pool bar. Opened late three times during my stay. There were no blenders (I understand a Cyclone Jasper issue). The staff do not pay attention to both sides of the bar so people regularly wait 10+ minutes for service. Some staff were great (the Canadian guy), others were terrible. When it's really hot, this facility is important and service should be far better.

Loved the pool and location. Buffet breakfast was good.

Didn't like the location of my room. Happy with ground floor as requested, but looked out onto the serenity pool, and it was always dark, not much natural light in the room. The bathroom was small but good. Suggest they remove the ladder holding the towels. It takes up too much room, in an already small bathroom, and I nearly tripped on it! Just put towel hooks on the wall. Problem solved!

Large room and bathroom/shower with spa bath on balcony (overlooking serenity pool). Good facilities, including 3 pools, gym and tennis court. Located close to several good dining options. Decent breakfast buffet.

Not enough space/sun lounges around the pools and small spa (for the number of guests). It was the end of school holidays, but there were heaps of little screaming kids in the pools/spa (makes you wonder how clean it is). Decent buffet breakfast, but only provided instant coffee (had to pay $6 for an expresso coffee).

The large lagoon pool and swim up pool bar is a key attraction for us when we visit Peppers at Palm Cove. The breakfast provides a good level of variety with plenty of healthy choices. The staff are always friendly and make every effort to ensure our stay is as enjoyable as possible. We appreciated the staff remembering us from previous stays and thought the bottle of sparkling wine was a nice touch.

This is very specific to the circumstances of our stay due to the tropical cyclone. Peppers did a reasonably good job of keeping us informed of the cyclone situation and what it would mean for us as guests of the resort. We did however find some inconsistencies in communication between staff members and written documentation. The main impact was around food provisions during the cyclone. We were originally told the kitchen would remain open for in room meals only to find on the day that the kitchen would be closed. Not the end of the world, it was more that we did not stock up on food in our room as a result.

The room was very spacious and included a small washer and dryer. The pool area was nice and adequate. There was private parking. The location was good. There were great restaurants nearby. A small grocery store and pharmacy was also located near the resort.

I was too afraid to swim at the beach because the water was murky and crocodiles could be present. It was off season, so many businesses closed early or was opened only on specific days.
