The location is quiet and there is always parking available for free. In Germany especially, on booking you see so many hotels show that they have parking to only find they want another 20-30 Euro a day for parking so sad. All the staff in the hotel and restaurant are exceptional and most helpful with anything you need. I have never had a rude or bad experience here. When it comes to the restaurant, the food prices are a bit higher, but the food that is served is well in line with this. Anybody who has taste will enjoy the restaurant.

Like I said in a previous review, the rooms required some renovation. On this stay, we were able to see renovations to the hotel were underway. So this hotel will be a nice place to stay again when it is done.

The food in the restaurant was tasty, but unfortunately a very limited menu. This is a minus for multiple overnight stays. Perhaps also provide extra towels for a visit to the wellness area.

Unique hotel and property, away from the downtown city center. Opportunities to relax, enjoy nature, and paddle on the river. Don’t miss having dinner at the hotel restaurant, serving excellent meals with local specialties and regional wines.

No issues, but be aware that there is a bit of a drive out from the city center. We thought the peace and quiet was worth it.

The location is great for vacation. You can have nice view, big enough park for 1 hour walking, and canal for Canoe there. They also have swimming pool and Sauna (but I did not use it). The service is nice, and the room is quiet. People are not complicated there and thus you can get a good rest. In the town center (Poppenbüttel) you will get shopping and whatever you want.

The public transportation is a problem that if you get there late (over 22:00), and then you won't have Bus 276. I took 30+ minutes walking back from the Poppenbüttel station but I can consider it as a nice walk.

The hotel is comprised of a nice complex of buildings (including its restaurants and bars) which makes it feel like a cozy small neighborhood. The nature around the hotel is great to walk into. All facilities were clean and really pleasant to use, including the swimming pool, sauna and the gym. Bathrooms were clean, with hot water and very good water pressure.

We loved the pool. The breakfast was wonderful and the croissants the best ever. I enjoyed the staffs good humour, especially a young woman(in training? She talked about „Berufsschule“) She was enjoyable in her openness …

That the pool only opened at 8am. I love my 1/2 swim before breakfast. A 7am opening would have been more convenient.

Very good and varied choice for breakfast. Dog owner sat indoors with her pet for breakfast eventhough there is a lovely outdoor area in perfect weather condition s. Hotel owner does not object?

Nothing really a very nice hotel and will return.

We wanted to stay somewhere that felt genuinely German and we weren't disappointed. The staff were super friendly and nice, we felt very welcomed upon arrival. The rooms were tidy and clean, very nice bathroom. Super cosy spa area and the gym was huge. Great surroundings with possibilities to hike and go kayaking. I can warmly recommend this hotel.

Only thing that was negative is that we didn't have time to stay longer.

I slept in the bed in the room and locked the door from the inside.🤔 The hotel employee opened the door without an appointment and entered with her key. After seeing me, she closed the door and returned.😳 It was really uncomfortable and strange for me. 😠 Although I have not given a negative rating, every day I went to bed stressed because I was worried that someone would open the door again😔

This is such an exceptionally great place: historical charm on the outside, perfectly modern rooms on the inside. It is in the middle of the beautiful Alstertal nature reserve, you can hear owls at night, yet within 5 min by car you are in the middle of elegant Poppenbüttel with its shops and restaurants.

I loved everything but I suppose the stairs inside might make it a bit tricky for some people.
