Hunter Lodge is a great little find in the Catskills. You can tell the property is older—more like a retro motel or lodge—but it’s been tastefully redone with a modern, cozy vibe. The decor throughout, including the lounge and common areas, feels thoughtful and welcoming. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view from the patio facing nature. The terrace was also nicely updated and perfect for relaxing, especially with the fire pit just steps away. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch—simple grab-and-go options like bagels, muffins, and coffee, but it had everything we needed to start the day. The location is convenient, the price is fair, and the staff were very friendly. Overall, it’s a great mix of rustic charm and refreshed style—we’d definitely come back!

The bathroom was on the small side and a bit awkward to use—the door swings right into the toilet area. Also, the curtains weren’t full blackout, which made sleeping in a bit difficult if you’re sensitive to light.

the lodge overall looks better in the pictures than in person. fya, it’s a basic lodge and not a charming hotel (which is not a problem, but it’s better to have the right expectations). the breakfast was a little sad, with too few options (the disposable utensils are too wasteful, it would be nice to have proper plates and cups). there’s little to no service, and common areas could be a bit tidier.

Amazing location surrounded by mountains and close to several restaurants. Great home-base for daily hiking and many other outdoor excursions and experiences. Very clean. rustic yet very modern. Super comfortable beds. Very kind and helpful staff. Very nice property grounds with fire pit , amazing views, some other game like activities such as corn hole and horseshoes-seating outdoors and even an on site tavern style restaurant open on weekends. Extremely spacious and super relaxing living room area beautifully and creatively decorated with nostalgic and modern mountain chic furniture and decor.

Best price/value in the area for a classy lodge experience that provides all expected amenities. All the details are perfect….Tavern fireplace, reading/social area with fireplace and fresh coffee, scented shampoo and conditioner to match the outdoor freshness, outdoor s'mores fireplace with view of mountain and centralized location to Hunter mountain, the antique shops and some great restaurants (like Jessie’s Harvest House) of Tannersville and all hiking trails. 2 min to Hunter and min to Tannersville.

Wonderful stay that was cozy and fun! The room size was big and accommodating for my husband, me and our two young girls, and the location was awesome! A couple minutes down the road from Hunter Mountain for an easy ski day, and right across the street from Scribner's lodge where we grabbed drinks/dinner one night.

The bar and fireplace were great and we LOVED the live music on Saturday and Sunday nights-- but the food itself was just OK.

We arrived early and let us check in, there was home made cookies and coffee / tea always in the lobby, everyone was very friendly. The room was amazing, very large, fridge, microwave and four large double bed bunkbeds. Very cool for my teenaged children. bathroom was huge with very nice toiletries to use and everything was very clean.

The continental breakfast buffet could have had a few more choices such as juice, fruits and breads. the bagels were stale and there were only chocolate chip muffins to eat and yogurt.

Loved the decor of the rooms, staff was friendly, everything was really clean and cookies were delicious!

The breakfast was very limited. There was no cream or decaf coffee, only apple juice. Our second day we went down at 9, and there was very little left and they were not replenishing. Since no hot food is offered, you should be able to keep enough yogurt, fruit and hard boiled eggs in stock.

I booked the Mountainview King/Queen Loft Suite and stayed for about a week. I loved the loft suite room! It was nice and spacious. There was a skylight in the loft. There is a small microwave and mini fridge. The room had a cozy balcony where I could sit and enjoy the mountain view. There is also a fire pit on the premises for guests to enjoy. The lodge staff was attentive and checked whenever they saw me to see if I needed anything, such as clean towels. The staff in the tavern restaurant were very friendly. They had a solid list of beers, wines, and ciders.

The lodge's tavern menu is compact, which I don't mind, but the food (the review is based on the burger I had ordered a couple of times) was okay. The tavern is closed Monday - Wednesday, which was a bit inconvenient for me as a guest. The breakfast options were also limited, and I would have preferred a more substantial hot breakfast. But it was enough to tie me over because it's quite a ride to the closest breakfast place.

Great location and friendly staff. the rooms are comfortable. breakfast included, nice library with fireplace. across from Scribner’s which has a great bar, restaurant and free EV charging.

it didn’t have a pool or hot tub? firepit was out back. no billiards or other fun table games (fooseball ). someone before us left dirty diaper bag on the balcony, could be better to clean the whole place.

Very chic Ski Lodge. It was super quiet and relaxing. My room was insanely comfortable my pillow fortress bed was just the ticket. And it came with a great view :) They even had a fire going the night I arrived! The staff were amazing.

Obviously this was off-season but the bar/restaurant was closed and a lot of the surrounding restaurants were too. I thought it was a little expensive for what it was but I had a nice relaxing night away :)
