Stayed here for our wedding anniversary. Loved this hotel. The room was truly amazing! Ours was very large. Our room had an outdoor hot tub that was delightful with a great view. Spent mornings in it drinking coffee looking out towards the hills. We also used the hotels private bath and it was well worth the money! Incredible views! The view from the roof deck was spectacular at sunset as well! Walking through the neighborhood to get to the center of town I absolutely loved. Stumbled across fun little neighborhood shops along the way.

The western breakfast could be done a little differently to make it more appealing. The Japanese breakfast was amazing.

The hotel is located next to Nara Park, and 7-10 minutes walk from shopping / eating street. Starbucks is in 2 minutes walk. The room (Deluxe Room with Private Garden) was spacious, with amazing view, private hot bath, sauna and amenities, and next to a small playground. Private garden was very nice, well decorated and with nice ambience. Futon beds were comfortable and cozy.

Food options are very limited, and very specific. The quality was very high, but you have to eat what is served, without many choice or additional options. Check-in is at 3 pm sharp. Check-out 10 am is too early. You can extend it with additional small charge but for maximum 2 hours.

I was not expecting such an amazing experience for such a low price point. My trip to Nara was a random whim nearing the end of my 10 day first trip to Japan which included Tokyo and Kyoto. After being in the bigger cities I wanted to get out into nature a bit so I last minutes picked this place since it was highlighted as being in the mountains and half way to a hike I had planned on the Kumano Kodo trail 4 hours away. This hotel EXCEEDED my expectations and was not only beautifully designed but cozy. I will recommend this place to anyone in the area. I was late to check after getting lost on the trains and was so worried that I wouldn't be able to check in. Since I sent them an email as requested before 20:00 and stating my dilemma the staff was ready for me when I finally arrived. This was maybe the best hotel experience I've had in Japan yet. Between the price point for the in room rouyken and the absolutely gorgeous finishes on the room design and light this was 10/10. I will definitely be back.

It is a very nice experience if you want to emerge into Japanese lifestyle. The food is excellent and the location just next to the deer park but also close to a bus and train station is great. The view from the room or top roof is stunning

There was nothing I did not like. A slight practical improvement would be that the light at the entrance of the room and next to the bed has a central switch to shut them all out together. Several times I forgot some and had to get up again or put off my shoes off again to go shut them out. It is not a big deal just a practical suggestion.

Enjoyed our stay, private bath on balcony and traditional dinner and breakfast.Tried in house-bathhouse which was lovely. They can organise a private guide for free if you notify them beforehand, he met us at the hotel and close walk to major Shrine and park. Was very friendly and informative. So glad we took advantage of this opportunity.

this was a fabulous hotel, the service was definitely 5 star standard. The reception staff were so lovely and little extras like free cake in the lobby in the evening made it extra special. The room was great and felt like a real experience, the futons on the floor surprisingly comfy. The onsen on the ground floor was really peaceful and if you dont have a private onsen in your room you can book the one on the roof for only 20 pounds for an hour and it was well worth it, especially at sunset.

Our favourite spot for our entire holiday - wish we could have stayed longer. Staff were amazing and friendly. Iced yuzu tea on arrival was supurb, wish I could have taken some with me! Very close to the parks and temples. Absolutely stunning hotel, the private bath was lovely overlooking Nara at sunset. Bathroom was very large. Enjoyed the complimentary amenities.

The noise between rooms was not ideal, but everything quietened down after 10pm so wasn’t too much of a bother.

The Japanese style of room was unique and lovely. I also enjoyed the private onsen with the sunset views. The staff were brilliant and the whole system of communication between say the restaurant and the front desk works very well. I also was upgraded when I arrived as I had initially had to book for 2 people as there is no single traveller policy so because the larger room was free they moved me into there which was a lovely surprise.

Very well located 10 min from Nara station, this hotel is so charming between modern with a touch of traditional :) Offering two different breakfast western or traditional which were delicious. I appreciated the private onsen upstair with the view - the Yucatan that they provide and that you can were in the hotel for your comfort - the free guide that they offer for a visit of Nara, I spend the day with Michiko she was adorable it was amazing to know about the temples and the tradition and be able to share with local person make you feel in total immersion with the place !
