An exceptional find. The room, service, food, location, view and hosts were outstanding. And what a treat to have breakfast served in our room. John and Sheila went out of their way to welcome us to their B&B and to provide information on the local area. It is a fabulous location to explore both the East and West coastline... and to see the puffins and other birds. We stayed in The Bay Suite and had an amazing view of Dunnet Bay... from both the bath and bed! Although we didn't use it, there is a hot tub available for guests... what a treat! We will be back...
Nothing!

Staying at Dunnet B&B Scapes was one of the highlights of my trip to Scotland. The room had stunning views and was beautifully decorated with thoughtful details throughout. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, making it easy to relax and unwind. Breakfast was delicious and generous, with plenty of fresh, local ingredients to start the day right. All this came at a very good price, making the stay even better value. I highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, charm, and great hospitality in the Scottish Highlands.

We stayed in the Bay Suite. It was exactly what we needed after a long day of sightseeing. It really is a 5 star accommodation, it's beautifully decorated and so comfortable. It was my favourite accomodation on the NC500 tour by far. We had an incredible view of the field and sea while the bed, bathroom, kitchette and breakfast helped us recharge our batteries. John and Sheila were terrific hosts. I was sad that we only booked one night and had to leave to be honest! I thoroughly recommend staying here on your NC500 tour.

Our stay here was one of the highlights of our 6 weeks in Scotland. The room was beautiful and luxurious with stunning views across the bay. Sheila was an excellent host, welcoming and thoughtful. The breakfasts were delicious. The room was cozy and peaceful and we slept like logs on the comfortable bed. The little table by the window was our favourite place to sit and watch the weather pass by. The bath in the room was also a lovely spot to relax and watch the sunset (although there wasn’t much sun). Having a fridge and some plates and cutlery made it easy for us to prepare some light meals and packed lunches for ourselves. It was a great base for exploring that part of the NC500. We had everything we needed and felt so relaxed and comfortable that it was hard to leave.
We found nothing to complain about - this is simply an amazing place to stay.

The property is beautiful we have stayed before in one of the cabins which was also exceptional and we were initially disappointed we couldn’t get one when we booked. However the Bay View room in the main house exceeded all expectations. Beautiful room with all the facilities you could need incredible view over the bay with Juliet balcony. One of the best things is that you can have breakfast in your room. This really enhances the experience over and above an ordinary B&B. The breakfast it’s self is fabulous the French toast is the best I have very had and I would highly recommend it. Our host could not do enough for us we will definitely be back
Nothing not to like

Luxury lodge positioned in scenic location with stunning views to sandy Dunnet Bay, grassland, and fabulous wildlife. Quality accommodation with well designed features, comfy bed and luxury bathroom. Nice touches include Nespresso coffee machine (and pods), fridge with small freezer, bathrobes, toiletries, plus private decked area to front with hanging chairs. The most excellent breakfast options all served at the dining table in the lodge, perfectly cooked and presented. John & Sheila were wonderful hosts giving tips on local eateries and things to do. There are 2 lodges but you can also stay in the main house.
Nothing - it was all great!

We booked this place because we were doing the NC500 route on a trike and the hot tub sounded like a wonderful idea after three days of riding. We were completely blown away by the outstanding quality and palatial size of the chalet, it far exceeded our expectations, as did the lovely people! The site is just 15-minutes along the north coast from John O'Groats, overlooking Dunnet Bay toward Castletown. There are just two chalets and the main house on the site, which meant it was ever so peaceful. Despite it beginning to rain as we arrived, we were soon in the outdoor hot tub, after a quick introductory tour by our friendly host John. An hour in the hot tub looking out across the bay soon eased the aches and pains of the day's travel and we followed it up with a lovely relaxing evening in our fabulous 5-star chalet. The bed was also 5-star and we slept like babies. In the morning our breakfast was delivered to the chalet by our lovely hostess Sheila, and that too exceeded our expectations. The porridge served with fresh cream and honey has now become a regular favourite at home and the cooked breakfast (mine was vegetarian) was both generous and excellent. We really could not recommend this place highly enough, and we hope to stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.
Honestly, our only complaint is that we had only booked one night.

The cottage we stayed in provided utmost comfort, with top-quality linen and towels that added a touch of luxury to our experience. The bathroom products were also of high standard, enhancing our overall satisfaction. The breathtaking view from the cottage added to the charm of our stay, giving us a sense of privacy and tranquility. To top it all off, Shiela, our host, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, ensuring that our hot breakfast was delivered to our cottage at a time of our choosing. Her hospitality made our stay truly unforgettable.

Lovely place made exceptional by the hospitality and welcome from Shelia the owner. Breakfast is outstanding. The comfort of the room is good particularly the bed. Loved the decor which is ideal for the place and short stay.
There was nothing to dislike. There are limited opportunities for dinner locally but Shelia was happy to help out in heating anything up and the kitchen was fully equipped with all facilities apart from a cooker which we appreciated ensured there were no smells lingering in the room.

Extraordinary stay, in a wonderful B&B overlooking the bay - what else to ask for!! The house is absolutely beautiful, the room was massive and beautifully furnished. We had a big balcony with a dreamy view on the bay, and the service! Sheila made sure we were well looked after, and even waited for us even though we arrived later than expected. Make sure you save time for the breakfast, you cannot miss out on the food! Everything about this stay was so perfect and peaceful, I cannot recommend it enough!! Highlight of the stay as mentioned was the view, and the bed!! Probably one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. If you are in the area and are looking for a place to stay, no need to further look because this is it! Absolutely loved it, and Sheila will make sure you have the best stay possible!
It was an amazing stay
