We had a wonderful time at Valleyview House. We received a very warm welcome and immediately felt at home. The room was perfectly clean, beautifully furnished and had a very comfortable bed. A kettle, tea, coffee and cookies were provided as well as an iron and ironing board. The view of the sea and cliffs from the room was spectacular. The optional breakfast included everything you could wish for. The lovely hosts gave us lots of tips for restaurants and things to do in the area, as well as extra towels for the beach.

We didn't have enough time and would stay even longer next time :)

Very well located for our NC500 vacation. The room was very comfortable. Antoinette was so warm and welcoming. She made us feel right at home. The breakfast was very tasty and good value for money. An ABSOLUTE highlight of our stay was meeting her Highland Cows!!!!! oh my word - cannot tell you how much that meant to my husband and I! Being able to hear all about them and their stories and being able to brush them and see their unique personalities! LOVED it. Would absolutely recommend staying at Valleyview. The garden is gorgeous and you can sit outside and enjoy the tranquility.

The best property, by far, in my whole trip. I was greeted and felt welcomed. The room was impeccably clean. I am a clean freak and not one hair in the bathroom! The bed was superb! Comfortable, smelled good, great pillow selection! The bathroom (like I said, beyond clean) was very nice, shower pressure excellent and very hot water. They had a fan for my partner who like to sleep very cold. Milk was provided. I felt very safe, parking was available and also felt safe. Great location. Did not get breakfast, cannot comment on that.

The location was ideal as we were catching a ferry from Gills Bay the next morning but it is only a short drive from Thurso so could easily accommodate people travelling on the Thurso ferry. Valleyview is a special place which has beautiful decor and the most comfortable en-suite room. Antoinette made us feel most welcome and advised us on some local places to visit in the evening. We were also very fortunate to meet the highland cows. Our breakfast was tasty and also the tea/ coffee and biscuits in our room.

The room was very nicely furnished with lots of lovely details and very clean. Our hosts had tips on where to eat at night and which spots we should not miss. At morning we were spoilt with a typical Scottish breakfast and we were also introduced to the B&B's own Scottish cows. We learnt a lot about them. The kids were allowed to feed and brush them. It was amazing! More over this we were given freshly baked banana bread to take with us on our journey. So thank you very much for your hospitality.

We loved the country location of the property, with its beautiful views and lovely garden. Antoinette and Steve were wonderful hosts, generous with their time and knowledge. Our room and ensuite were perfect: enough room to relax and unwind after a busy few weeks and cosy enough to be very homely. We were warm and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We just wished we could have stayed longer! We highly recommend Valleyview House.

We couldn't fault this property.

One of the best places we have every stayed in. The hosts were amazing, the breakfasts were superb, the room was gorgeous with a stunning view over Dunnet Head, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom lovely -- everything about it was great. The hostess has a pet Highland Koo in the adjacent paddock (Coco) and she had given birth to a calf (Maisie) on the mornign we arrived. This added a unique dimension to our stay.

Nothing not to like.

We were running late but the host was good about it even though she was going out. She was very hospitable and had great stories to tell. Breakfast was very good - cost extra, and needed to pay in cash, but very good value when added to the room cost. We had everything we needed in the room, including wine glasses, and it was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Overall, the place feels like home - a very nice home. It put to shame some other places on our stop, which charged outrageous prices and had no idea how to deliver quality, service or value. This was a lovely stop and my friend (from the USA) and I both thought this was the best of all the places we stayed, even though it was the least expensive.

A beautiful space on a lovely farm. The hostess, Antoinette was very welcoming and full of information on where to eat and what to see on our drive further on our trip. The bed was the most comfortable we’ve had all trip. Breakfast was delicious, especially the bacon, and served in a room with a lovely garden view. Antoinette was even able to introduce us to her favourite Hairy Coo and her two day old calf. That was a real treat.

Beautiful house and setting, lovely spacious room, very clean, extremely comfortable bed and pillows; lovely welcome from Antoinette, and great to meet the Highland cattle after breakfast. Perfect location for staying overnight before catching the ferry to Orkney.

Perhaps a little more choice at breakfast but the vegetarian breakfasts we had were very tasty and well cooked and presented.
