The hotel’s location was good, it’s clean and well maintained, the breakfast was good with plenty of food options.

A member of the catering staff hovered over me when I was standing at the table to toast my bread. I knew what I was doing and watching over the toaster but she repeatedly stuck her nose into my business. It was so annoying that I eventually told her to stop @fussing over me” and I knew what I was doing. It left an unpleasant feeling that was a spoiler for my breakfast! Other than that the staff were friendly and helpful.

Friendly people. Loved meeting locals in the attached pub (it only opens on Saturday though). Simple and fresh breakfast. Had dinner once in the restaurant and enjoyed it. The simple view from the room was also a nice touch. The staff was very helpful and we partied with them in the pub on the night we arrived. Mr. Negi, Colin, the other bar keeper, the young girls, were all staff who we had a great time with in the pub. The locals: the lovely couple who gave us advice on local sight, Mr. Murray, they were all lovely people to meet and talk with. I wish they all were my neighbours. Mr. Negi also gifted us with a bottle of the local distillery Wolfburn's whisky on the day of our departure. We would always cherish these memories.

The room felt a bit small, though it was cozy. Overall there wasn't much to dislike. It is a simple motel like property after all.

Lovely hotel. Lots of free parking. Clean comfy room with a big bathroom. Good food lots of choice at breakfast. Friendly helpful staff who went the extra mile. We left our bank card in our room when we left but fortunately it was found by a member of staff who ran after us as we were just leaving the car park and returned it. So a big thank you for saving us the worry of having to cancel or look for it.

It would have been nice to sit in a separate lounge area after our evening meal but as there wasn't one everyone had to just sit at their tables if they wanted another drink which wasn't very comfortable for any length of time.

The hotel was easy to access from the main road,with its own parking.You could walk into town in 5 mins.The room was very comfortable and a brilliant bathroom, all exceptionally clean. The staff are very friendly however not in your face.The meals are just amazing, I loved my breakfast ! and good value for money. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to those who want to explore the north of Scotland.

The only thing would be a lift to the first floor for those who require it

The hotel restaurant was of good value and the reception desk was friendly.

(1) We found that the prices shown on the hotel restaurant menu were different from the ones shown on the menu in our room. We raised this problem with waitress but were questioned of our integrity. With solid proof, the reception desk solved our concern, but the waitress never served us welcomingly hence. (2) The rooms were advertised to be equipped with coffee/tea maker, but in the room we stayed we found neither coffee/tea packet nor kettle.

The location was perfect and the staff were lovely

There was no tea/coffee/kettle in the room. The bathroom lock was broken and I managed to lock myself out of the bathroom unable to use the toilet- staff assisted and were lively but unable to open it- a friend managed to opened it with a ear bud but nothing was done to fix the lock at the time during our stay so, we didn’t want to shut the door in fear we would be locked it! However makes a funny story to tell, memories made!

The staff was EXCEPTIONAL. After two long days of travel & so excited about finally being at our destination, I left my purse on the train. At the hotel everyone jumped into action to help me get it back! (It was delivered to the hotel by the conductor himself.) I really cannot thank the staff enough for saving our holiday. Also, the room was spotless and cozy.

Its location is convenient for the Caithness show in both Thurso and Wick. Staff are attentive and happy - service with a smile. It is always spotless. Food is exceptional. Tunnocks Caramel Wafers!

Minor inconvenience for us, as we decided to stay on a second night, but it would be useful if some other staff members were trained in your room booking system.

Rooms were comfortable, breakfast and dinner was lovely. At dinner time they put us in a seperate room so that our son did not have to interact with fellow guests as he has aspergers. A lovely touch that allowed us to have a stress free meal. The staff were very accomadating and nothing was too much. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The staff were very friendly, the people on reception were very helpful , the food was excellent and the menu varied and interesting . Beds very comfortable .

The admin through booking.com was challenging when we had to change our arrangements due to a family funeral but the hotel staff were very helpful sorting this out for us .
