Lovely hotel. It was lovely to stay in a cosy, immaculately clean local hotel. The hotel it’s self was spotless and I mean spotless- although furniture isn’t ultra modern it was decorated lovely, everything you could need and in perfect condition. Created by friendly staff on check in, the food at the restaurant was good quality and very reasonable, waiting staff friendly. My room was lovely and had an en-suite bathroom, again immaculate. Flat screen TV, kettle and teas/coffee. The double bed was so clean and fresh and the bedding and soft furnishings were of excellent quality. I had a lovely sleep and on departure again very friendly staff. In the centre of Wick, parking and lovely cosy rooms - what more could you want.

Nothing to dislike

The Breakfast was the best I've had as far as I can remember. Fantastic choice perfectly cooked. Only one downfall.... the plates aren't big enough for that much choice. It would have been nice to spread things out as opposed to pilling things up. Also a great shower. A couple of negatives below but on the whole I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Nothing really, it's a bit tired but it's spotless. The linen, could do with changing or bleaching. It's clean and fresh but it's going yellow. And against the backdrop of the new bathroom wall covering its really noticeable.

Everything, really. I was travelling from Aberdeen by train, and this was on the day Aberdeen FC won, and so there were delays, I was already tired and I managed to check in just before it hit 22:30. But Margaret was super considerate about it and said that it would have been OK if I was a bit later, in case things happened. She is so lovely. She had hotel business to attend to, and she made time to speak to me for a good 30 minutes. She was so hospitable and welcoming, just a very likeable person. If you meet her, you will get along with her, she's just so kind. Then I went to my ensuite twin room. It was so clean and tidy. Beyond my expectations for the price I paid.

The staff were excellent, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The location was also fantastic, with a beautiful running trail right nearby, perfect for enjoying the outdoors and staying active. It really added to the overall experience.

The stay was good overall, but there were some areas that could be improved. It would have been nice if the space felt a bit cleaner and warmer upon arrival, as it was freezing and took a while to heat up. The pub could use some renovation, and unfortunately, the piano room with a fire, which was advertised, was non-existent.

The Norseman is a great place to stay. A young waitress was an exceptional hostess in offering to help sit with my dog while I went to the buffet, she was also really attentive to our needs throughout dinner. I wish I knew her name to pass on my thanks. It really made our arrival and experience a very good one. The food, room and general helpfulness of the staff is consistently good.

The room booking I made was for a twin not double and although this was changed with ease after check in the receptionist could have been more communicative and offered to help make the swap. Having a bell available at the reception desk would have been more helpful than trying to find staff.

Out of the seven hotels I stayed whilst doing the NC500 this was by far the best value for money! Exceptional quality room, dog friendly, though ten pound per dog, I have two, they provided throws, dog bowls as and treats! Exceptional buffet breakfast, with lots of choice. Cannot comment on bar or evening meal, having two dogs and being a solo traveller difficult to get out in the evenings. The staff pleasant, friendly and helpful, would highly recommend.

Nothing to dislike

the staff although many of them were very young far exceeded my expectations of friendliness, professionalism and were very helpful with sharing local knowledge of the area to improve our overall stay, places to visit what's on and where to eat outside of the hotel, not that we really needed to as the dining was lovely with many locals using the restaurant every day testament to how popular the food is. breakfast is hearty with plenty selection and from fresh local produce. would certainly recommend.

i can honestly say there was not a single disagreeable moment in my stay, centre of town yet quiet cosy lounge with a view over the river loved every thing about this hotel.

Nice big public rooms , very busy which is better than an empty hotel. Nice friendly bar staff and waitresses, breakfast staff were happy and cheerful.

Reported to reception that there was a problem with the bathroom basin, the push down plug wouldn’t work. This caused a problem, as my wife wears a contact lens and needs to have water in the sink to prevent losing it. We were told nothing could be done that night and we again mentioned it in the morning, but it seemed as it was a nuisance reporting it, if only for the next guest at least to have it repaired.

1) we like the staff serving breakfast. We went for breakfast at 0930hr not realising it was passed the breakfast. But the staff was so helpful. They set up a spot for us and made sure that we got breakfast. They were patient, friendly and made us feel attended to. 2) though we have to pay for our dog to stay over but it was nice to come to the room, seeing that there was treats, blanket, towel and a bowl for him.

We didn't see the other room so not sure if they are all the same. But do feel that the room is a bit small for 2 persons and a furbaby.

Excellent location handy for the A9. Staff were friendly helpful and welcoming. Rooms were warm spotlessly clean and comfortable. Dinner and Breakfast had an excellent range of choices and we’re both delicious.

I am disabled and have difficulty with stairs. They put me in a first floor room (no lift) Bed was comfortable but a bit on the small size Inconveniences rather than problems
