Location was very handy for access to the Hoe, Barbican and city centre on foot. On - site parking adequate, but charged as an extra.

When booking the option of a continental breakfast was not mentioned, only the full breakfast. However, we had the continental breakfast, but paid on each occassion. There seemed to be a reluctance to take a card imprint and charge things to the room. It would also be useful if a sketch map was available as access to the car park is not obvious on arrival, but no problem once you have found it.

Stayed several times - it’s central to shops and seafront -warm and comfortable and good food.

Pool was cold this time which they forewarned about in foyer as problems with temperature last week. Mainly choose the hotel for the swimming pool and sauna - and had I been emailed about the cold pool I would have tried to rearrange to visit at a later date. However - food is always good and the hotel itself is great. The staff have always been wonderful - a real asset to the hotel. One I didn’t recognised this time and slightly upset a friend I was staying with by what could have been seen as sarcasm - but I chose to consider that perhaps they were neurodiverse and intended humour. Every member of staff I have come across in the years I have stayed have always been beyond wonderful so this was a bit of a shock - but not representative of the rest of the lovely team

Second time I've stayed at this hotel. Ideal location, less then 10 mins walk from the main centre. We usually stay when coming to performances at the pavillions. The room is really quiet, (when the windows shut) has all the basics, beds are really comfy. Good value for money. Room service was very quick and pizzas were very yummy! All the staff we have spoken to both times have been lovely. Parking at £7 for the whole stay plus a little after check out was ideal, not a bad price at all, overall very happy!

Having to go down to the bar to order room service isn't ideal but the food was yummy and brought up within 20mins so can't really complain!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My stay at the New Continental Hotel in Plymouth was absolutely fantastic. Everything from the moment I arrived was superb. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to help. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with modern decor and all the amenities I needed. The leisure facilities – the indoor pool, sauna, steam room and gym – were excellent and well maintained. Breakfast at Steve’s Brasserie was delicious, with a wide choice of fresh, tasty food. The location is ideal: central, with easy access to shops, the theatre, and the waterfront. I couldn’t find anything that really went wrong — it was just a very satisfying stay. Highly recommended, and I’d happily stay here again!

The only small downside was that there is just one lift and it can be a little slow at busy times. Apart from that, everything was great, and I would definitely stay again.

Such friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable and beautifully clean beds. Lovely soft towels and clean bathroom with soaps and shampoo. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with good choice of cereals, pastries and fresh fruit. Fabulous location.. 16 mins walk to the University, 10 mins to town centre shops and 10 minutes to the Hoe. Car charger was a bonus.

The car park was a little tricky for a big car but this hotel provides excellent value for money in a city centre location. Some traffic noise prior to midnight but actually we all slept really well. Room was big and comfortable.

The location is very good for visiting The Hoe and the town centre. Plenty of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Safe feeling area. The room was clean and comfortable. Car parking for the length of your stay for £7.50 each day. Nice bar and good selection of drinks on offer. The pool is small but ok for a quick dip.

We stayed in the Four Poster room. The photographs on the hotel website are very deceptive. The room is so much smaller than it looks on the pictures. Unable to pay for early check-in. Predominantly, men in the gym and sauna which could be a bit intimidating for lone women.

We had a truly pleasant stay at the New Continental Hotel in Plymouth. From the moment we arrived, the charm of the hotel was evident—beautiful original features have been thoughtfully maintained, giving it real character, while everything remains modern, clean, and well cared for. Lovely big room with high cieling. Very comfortable. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the pool, steam room, and sauna after a day out exploring. It was the perfect way to unwind. The highlight in the morning was the lovely full English breakfast—fresh, tasty, and served in a welcoming setting. Overall, a great experience. We'd happily return!

The hotel itself was fantastic. The staff were friendly, both upon check in and when I called to discuss my booking. The facilities were great, there was everything you needed in the room; you were also given access to all of the sauna and swim facilities, sadly the purpose of our trip didn’t allow for this - but will definitely keep this in mind when we book again. The best part for us was the location - we were attending a gig in the pavilions and it was quite literally on the doorstep!

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like, though a lock on the bathroom door would have been a bonus.

It's a very nice hotel with friendly staff and good facilities. The bar was a nice place to hang out. The location is ideal for quick access to the town centre. Parking was easy and on site, which was appreciated. The cooked breakfast was of good quality with lots of options. The room service fries were nice. I wish I had packed some swimming kit to use the pool.

Some of the room service food had a certain tang to it. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but it was not very nice and I could not finish my meals. This "tang" was on 2 different types of meal (burger and pizza), ordered on separate days. I suspect it was down to a certain oven being used or an oven tray perhaps? I don't know but I think you should investigate it. Neither the cooked breakfast nor the fries had that same "tang" if that helps you narrow it down. Disappointing because they had the potential to be really tasty. The sash windows rattle and I had to put some folded paper in the gaps to stop this, however it was a stormy weekend so may not always be like that.

Had a slight delay in arriving to the hotel but when I called to inform them they had no problem with me arriving late as the reception at the hotel is covered 24 hours. When I did arrive I was greeted with a kind and welcoming smile and was asked how my evening had been which after having a rocky start to the evening was great to hear. From the hotel was a short walk to the ceremony venue and only a 15 minute walk to the reception venue which was amazing as was helping to take photos of the wedding. The hotel is right near the city centre and is only a twenty minute walk from the train station.
