On catching the ferry to Terschelling I looked out to Harlingen and figured I should stay there a few days to explore and learn of the charming looking town. I found and booked a few nights at Homestay Harlingen when I got the chance. Upon return to Harlingen I walked about ten minutes from ferry to Homestay Harlingen. I was welcomed by Gerda. She is hospitable and nice to talk with. The sub-level room featured good natural lighting when the curtains were open, and blocked out light when closed. It had a pleasant bathroom with a large walk-in shower with a soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser. Towels and robe provided. And one of the most comfortable of beds I've slept. Outside the door was the communal kitchen. It had a large refrigerator for the guests, plus utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, microwave... coffee and tea provided.

Excellent. Very clean and comfortable. Location close to the town centre. And, not least, a very friendly and welcoming hostess offering more service than what one expect. It would definitely be my first choice for another stay.😊

A really nice comfy room, everything was clean and was on a great easy to reach location. The host was also very welcoming. Contact with the host via chat beforehand went really smooth. The host responded quickly to messages.

There wasn't anything I didn't like, it had a good system for returning the keys as well. So, me checking out early in the morning caused no problems.

Location and view was wonderful - reminded me so much of a smaller version of Amsterdam ... canals and flowers!

Everything was a little 'cramped' for space ... BUT, the 'flair' of decorating (mosquito net!!:) off-set the 'tightness'. As a Canadian, the small spaces are a novelty compared to our bigger rooms in our homes - it was fun!

I loved this place. The location was great, the owner really helpful and the room was so comfortable with a great shower and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in whilst working away.

The breakfast was nicely laid out and plentiful but the items I didn't eat were removed from the fridge shelf so I couldn't have them later in the day.

The room was not that big, and that’s no problem. But the decoration is to dominant.

Gerda the host was helpful and welcoming. The room and ensuite were impeccably clean. The breakfast was good. Great location for seeing the pretty town of Harlingen. I would gratefully use Gerda's lovely 'homestay' when I come here again. Thanks Gerda.

The property had absolutely everything you would need! The bed was super comfortable and it was spotless.

Everything was perfect. The room had all facilities The breakfast was well organized and really too much. The name is perfect because you really feel at home. The location is central, near the port to go to the island and near all shops. I will recommend this accomodation and come back again. Thanks Gerda for your hospitality.
