The hotel was a nice surprise. Right on the sea front made for a special vibe, and the design was modern. Nice looking and good standard building. Some of the best hotel beds we can remember, and no sounds waking us up early which is such a plague with many hotels (from doors slamming, people shouting). With good, quiet AC sleep was good which is so important. Adult international clientelle so no sun bed hogging, and no one staring. The included breakfast was good and plentiful. The pool bar food was however as with most of tavernas in Crete very average. The main restaurant had dinner buffet, but we never tried it. Good parking.

To be picky there was a slight smell in the bathroom, but we bought a bottle of chlorine to rinse the bowl and pour down the drains which fixed it. Another negative was a bit weak and uncozy lighting in the living room from a single overhead lamp.

Wuiet place clean and very helpfull and good atuff service and every thing was excellent the pnly issue is the closer to the airport and u hear the flight airplan traffic but for me its ok when u in the beach or the pool u feel the loudness of the engine when u at room its all good Facilitis in the room the stuff Good fridge and good air condition very comfortable beds and all the hotel are close to pool and to the food restaurant and the view is amazing from the balcony with full or sea side view amazing close to the beach for morning walking and relax closed to a good local restayurants and shops too verry good coffee and local patisserie highly recombded if u have small kids and u looking for quite place to relax No need for slides and big pools there is a very closed water parks u can go u can ask me if u needd any other information Regards and hope to come back again Amazing stuff ritta rania abd the housekeeping and room service and the reception disk and the poil bar stuff jouzafune and jouzef And the biliiard area amazing thank uuuuu

For me it was the first time being in Crete Golden Bay was an amazing place to start my trip . We arrived early and we were welcomed. The breakfast is really nice and every day you get something different The staff were amazing. The rooms were clean and we got the most comfortable mattresses and clean sheets. The pool and the view are amazing and perfect for a chill and having your kid wandering there with no problem the restaurant near the pool is so nice and as a family feeling. The perfect place for to chill and enjoy with your family They offered us nice deals on car rental around and recommended where to go and travel around the area Tanks

The experience was perfect. Kind and attentive staff, always smiling, speak well English. The breakfast is generous and tasteful. The hotel, as the view, are beautiful. Really. The pool is stunning, sunbaths are large and numerous. The hotel is clean. The access is easy. The pool bar is nice and perfect for a small meal, with great cocktails. Our small apartment was clean, roomy and well-stuffed. The bed was comfortable. They offer many services and activities. Our car rental was fast and simple. One of the best hotel near Heraklion.

Our bathroom configuration wasn't really good, the door should open in the outside direction to not obstruct the way to the shower. Also, the shower could have a door to prevent the water to splash outside on the floor. We didn't like other people taking own of sunbaths for their family, despite they were not present around the pool. The staff should control this.

The hotel overall looks very good, the breakfast was nice and quite varied, and the staff was very friendly. The location is very nice also, with the sea in front, and very close are very good restaurants, taverns and also a very nice beach.

The room we stayed in was not exactly what I expected – it was quite small compared to what I saw in the photos. It was strange that the sink was not in the bathroom but in the bedroom, not even in the kitchenette area. As for cleanliness, I would rate it 8.5–9 out of 10.

Just one suggestion: add nets to the windows, I had to hunt down some mosquitos in two nights. We shut the windows after that and the problem was solved, but it is nice to be able to sleep with windows open during the summer..

The hotel was lovely. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms were clean. The beds were very comfortable. There are a few restaurants within a few minutes walking distance which sell nice food. The beach is only a few minutes walk away too. There was a lot of choice at breakfast time and this was alternated each day so there was always a different choice. The pool area is also very clean and tidy. The pool bar area does snacks through the day time. Overall I would stay at Golden Bay again. We had a really lovely holiday.

There is only air conditioning in the main bedroom so the lounge area is always quite warm. You have to pay €8 a day for the AC but it is worth it. We hired a car and if we hadn't we would have struggled in terms of transport. The bus stop was around a 20 minute walk away from the hotel. I would recommend hiring a car as the area is quite small and there isn't much to do. We didn't use the kitchen area of the apartment. I feel this is probably unnecessary to have in the room and the space could be utilised for something else. We used the fridge but that was it. There was no iron in the room. I wouldn't say there was anything I didn't like.

A really nice low key hotel which massively exceeded my expectations and was excellent value for money including a great buffet breakfast.

When we stayed, the hotel was under the flight path into Heraklion airport so great if you enjoy plane spotting and don't mind a bit of jet noise. The flights stopped for most of the night but picked up again early morning. It is a shame as the hotel can't do anything about it, but it is the one blemish on an otherwise excellent place to stay.

Great location, with lots of little beaches nearby. Days by the pool were lovely, with great service from friendly staff, great food and delicious cocktails from the pool bar. Comfortable and spacious room for two people.

There was a small kitchenette with very basic equipment. Not really suitable for cooking a meal, but we prepared salads etc for lunch a few times and it was handy to be able to do that. It was a shame the restaurant wasn't open for dinners. But the lunch we had there by the pool was very good.
