Bar was great value - great atmosphere - large bed rooms if ours was anything to go by (4)decent layout - overlooking the street - comfy bed - good size bathroom /shower - easy access to bedrooms - free secure car park amazing breakfast - quality hash browns absolute bargain of a place - good location ideal for York - would always stay here when visiting the area

Safety rail in bath needed - bath a bit too high to negotiate getting out around the shower glass safely - otherwise I would imagine people use the towel rail for support (too weak )

Great location in Selby. Chose it as less expensive than York hotels and was close to the bus station, where buses to York are frequent. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar food was decent, breakfast was hot and choice of fruit and cereal if wanted it. Parking is free once registered at hotel, Beds are fine and everything is clean.

The hotel is a bit tired and needs a face-lift.However, this did not spoil our stay and it served its purpose. Thanks to all the staff who we came across. We would go back.

We've been numerous times and always been really happy with everything. Food, drinks, staff, amazing. Prices always reasonable. Will continue to come on our random nights out from Rotherham

Really love being on the lower floor for rooms as both me and hubby struggle with stairs. This time was up on the higher floor with a sliding door straight at the top of the stairs. Felt a little unsafe. No towels in our room, but spoke to staff who got them straightaway for us. But this was just a small issue. On the whole,, enjoyed every minute. Thanks "The George"

The room was very spacious and had plenty of storage including a wardrobe with hangers, shelves and drawers in the bedside tables. The room was warm and cosy and we had an additional heater should we need it. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with towels and shower supplies. Tea/coffee facilities were much appreciated, as was the additional milk cartons on request. Breakfast was superb - plenty of choices for both continental and cooked options and the service was excellent.

The tea/coffee area in the room wasn't clean. The main light was a bit dim but this was not a problem as there were 4 other lights in the room!

We travelled to Selby to meet up with family members and the town met our requirements. The 'George Inn' is ideally located right in the centre, giving easy access to where we wanted to go. the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Being in the centre of town this lively pub came with its own issues of noise until the early hours. To be fair we were warned about the noise but the promised ear plugs were nowhere to be seen. The other issue was about the shower which was more of a trickle than a proper shower.

Very good location (easy parking, near Boots etc), food was very nice and amazing value with very good and tasty vegetarian options (kids’ menu was super good at an amazing price), comfortable beds, clean, staff was very friendly, breakfast was also very nice and amazing value; recommend!

A tiny bit noisy, but it is a pub and the property did warn about this and therefor offered ear plugs, but honestly not even an issue as we had kids with us who were loud as well :-) it also didn’t last long into the night either so can’t really complain :-)

The staff were friendly and welcoming, there were added touches that were unexpected and thoughtful. Our room was clean and warm, the bed was comfortable and we slept well during our stay. We enjoyed a lovely roast dinner when we arrived and the breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The George Inn is situated in Selby town centre which has a train station only 5 minutes walk away, the town itself has plenty of shops and restaurants.

The only thing was that the shower wasn’t particularly powerful but we were situated on the top floor.

Nice pub with good seating areas and outdoor space. Decent pub food with good choice. Friendly staff who were helpful with booking in and car parking. Great breakfast with helpful staff. Clean bedroom, felt recently decorated with good carpets. We asked for quiet rooms and got them - absolutely no noise at all when we went to bed at 11pm.

Bathroom smelt like the drain needed sorting out - it had an odour. Whilst sink, loo & shower were clean, the bathroom looked like it needed a good refresh and deep clean - areas such as top of skirting, outside edges of shower base and round the plughole needed a good clean. Other than this I would have rated it as excellent.

Always stay at the George Hotel when visiting friends and family in the area, centrally located, free on site parking, the staff are friendly and helpful, although the rooms are basic they are clean and comfortable, there is a friendly atmosphere in the bar area on an evening, plus a bonus of a 10% discount on food and drinks whilst staying at the hotel, there is an excellent breakfast included, overall great value

Great stay no negative comments

The room was a nice size, and the beds were comfy. Breakfast was really good, with a good menu and quick service. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Although there was tellyvised sport on in the bar, the room wasn't noisy The location was good as we didn't need to use the car, as there was a good bus service and plenty of eateries within walking distance

The shower was very dissapointing, although the water was lovely and hot the flow of water was pathetic, and just a bit faster than a dribble
