Large well equipped room. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Excellent breakfast.

No full length mirror in room. No shelf for toiletries in bathroom. Very poor water flow from shower. Easter Sunday evening was a lot of very loud noise and music coming from the bar below our room until midnight. Easter Sunday is usually an early closing for bars etc. Also patrons were extremely noisy when leaving. There was also what sounded like a fire alarm went off very late which woke us up with a start and it stopped after a few seconds but had already disturbed us.

From the moment I arrived nothing was too much trouble, the staff were very friendly and made me feel very welcome. After booking in their was a minor issue with my room , so straight away the staff found me an alternative room for my stay. The Lady on reception booked me a table for dinner even though they were very busy that night with several functions going on in the hotel. Food was excellent, my room was clean , tidy and the bed was very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep despite the hotel being busy and the functions going on. In the morning I had a Welsh breakfast that was excellent and the ingredients were top quality. I didn't get her name but the Lady on the reception and front of house at breakfast was a credit to the hotel. I would happily stay at the Tredegar Arms again and would recommend it to any one staying in the area.

From booking in until morning breakfast you are met with a smile, staff are enthusiastic and very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. We had dinner the evening we arrived and were pleasantly surprised by the gastro pub twist to the menu, some very interesting and tasty dishes all at very good prices and you certainly will not go hungry. Breakfast was in a similar vein, very filling if not a little off putting due to the sheer size of the challenge (Welsh Breakfast), smashed avocados with bacon and poached egg was not something we expected to find on the menu, very nice!

If you are noise sensitive avoid rooms at the front, the town clock goes off on the hour. The only other slight negative is that due to the location parking can be difficult.

The staff were exceptional! So friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I came out of area and they were so lovely telling me what was about in terms of local amenities if I needed anything. Always service with a smile, could hear someone singing jurassic world over breakfast from the kitchen too 🤣 The room was gorgeous. The heating was great and controllable. The shower pressure was fab too which I find hit and miss in most hotels nowadays! The pillows were so comfortable 😍

The only thing I was a bit nervous about was there seemed to be adjoining door between my room and the room next door but I couldn't lock it from my side so I ended up stuffing a towel just under the door so it couldn't be easily opened. (It may well only open from my side, I admit I didn't ask) And it's not a negative just an annoyance that the mirror isn't at the seated desk level you have to stand to see in the mirror, which is annoying if you're a woman doing your hair for a party 😅

There is nothing but praise for this venue/accomodation. The staff are absolutely brilliant nothing is too much for them . The venue itself is fantastic , very clean and so so welcoming ... The decor is fantastic too . The food is superb, IV never had a bad meal here and we have had a few always consistently beautiful . The hotel again , nothing bad at all to say everything was perfect, the room was beautiful, exceptionally clean, the decor was beautiful this should be a four star ⭐ it's excellent , the decor throughout the building is beautiful. The staff as I said above are exceptional they go above and beyond in everything they do. Breakfast this morning was beautiful , lovely coffee too really enjoyed. Had two functions there this week and every single person on each night thoroughly enjoyed it . We will be back and definitely staying again too !, Thanks you Tredegar Arms for a fabulous night (both nights )

There was nothing to dislike it's perfect every aspect of it is 100% positive

Very friendly staff. Very helpful. Great food including breakfast. Went the extra mile and put my motorcycle inside where it was safe. Great location for exploring the Brecon Beacons.

Central Tredegar is very noisy until the early hours of the morning. Cars racing up and down the road and people shouting in the street. We were told by the locals more than once that if we left the motorcycle outside then it would be stolen. Big Police station just around the corner but absolutely no sign of any police presence. Very sad that such a great Hotel is compromised by anti social behaviour (but no suggestion of violence) and the prospect of loosing my transport.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy, presented well. I was nice having a sofa to sit on rather than a chair. the TV was moveable so could be watched from the sofa or the bed. Bedding was comfortable and the breakfast was lovely.

Noise, through no fault of the hotel. It was a very hot day, the room was hot. So I had all the windows open to try and get the cooler night air into the room. Due to the location of the hotel being in the centre of the town. When people were kicked out of the Wetherspoons over the road at closing time there was a group of people loitering and shouting etc for maybe half an hour after. Also the odd car driving passed in the night. This would have been reduced if I had the windows closed.

Great value for money and the onsite food was delicious (both in restaurant in the evening and breakfast in the morning). Staff were very accommodating

Although it says parking is available to reserve, I didn’t get a response on the request through booking.com and couldn’t get through on the telephone on the one occasion I called. We were able to park on the street outside which luckily worked as we checked in late and parking is free after a certain time and on Sundays so it worked ok for us. Also no gluten free alternatives offered on menu and at breakfast only dairy milk, we asked and no alternative milk was available.

The staff Team were great, nothing was too much trouble! There was a slight mix up arrival but this was rectified quickly. The food was excellent, breakfast was brilliant we ate dinner there all the evenings we stayed..the high standards were maintained throughout our stay. The hotel was clean with very modern touches..and was busy throughout our stay with locals using it ( the sign of a good hotel! )

Leaving..

Good location in centre of town. Parking available. The food and drinks at the bar were of good quality and very inexpensive, a handy couple of pubs near by. All the bedrooms we booked were very comfortable, and you must have the full Welsh breakfast its fantastic. Not to far away from the Brecon Beacons for walks.

Sad public transport is very poor, not much of a bus service and no train station. Rhymney or Ebbw Vale railway station in near by valleys then taxi / bus.
