Loved everything! The staff is very very kind and always smiling, especially Petro who welcomed us, they really care about making you feel well and relaxed :) The place is beautiful and the location is perfect, away from the more touristic areas but still strategical to go to all the interesting places in Zanzibar. Stunning beach with coral reef. Every night they come to open the mosquito nets and spray mosquito spray, and they perfectly clean every morning. We also booked the snorkeling and dolphin swimming tour through Villa Kiva and had an amazing experience with Ali, who would dive with us and make wonderful videos. 100% recommended!! I would for sure stay here if visiting Zanzibar again

The staff were so friendly and always available for anything we needed. They all had a great sense of humour and were just amazing. They went out of our way to help no matter what. The rooms were spacious, aircon worked extremely well, no mosquitos as they sprayed every evening and provided mosquito nets on a 4 poster king size bed. Great cupboard space to store all your clothing, and a decent size easy to operate safe using your own combination code. The dining room had a fantastic breakfast from a cold buffet of yoghurt, fruit, salads, and breads to hot food which was delicious and perfectly presented. Lunch and dinner menu was extensive, catering for all, and all meals were really tasty, and served timeously - kudos to the chef!! Swimming out to the reef at high tide was a huge highlight for our group, and the two swimming pools were a great treat to relax and cool off. The Spa treatments are highly recommended! We will definitely be back!

The dining area was very hot when there was no breeze - I would recommend fans. Everything else was perfect!

VENUE/TRIP WAS AWESOME!!! This is the best place to relax away from a busy work lifestyle. Staff were truly amazing. Particularly the reception team, waitresses, bar men (they were the best) & spa lady were friendly and delightful. Reception were helpful in assisting us with our itenary of activities on the island, particularly with transport & details of placed. Friendly environment. Felt like home.

1. Menu is extremely limited. We were there for 5 days so breakfast was a headache forcing us to order the same things over and over again. More variety over lunch breakfast and supper would be appreciated. 2. Bedrooms great. But bed rather hard. Have a bit of back pain by the end of the trip. Lastly shower geezer a bit small, ran out of hot water quickly.

1000/10. This is incredible place. You will not regret it. Calm place, beautiful interior design, warm and kind hotel staff, really helpful manager, the best beach - wide and clean, two swimming pools, yummy food, comfy beds, yoga classes! I was in many hotel around the world and I am rather picky but this place should have the rate closer to 10 for sure! I liked it so much that I decided to come back here for a second stay. In Matemwe - the best place to stay for a couple of nights!

All was perfect. We were there twice!

Matemwe Beach must be one of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar. You can walk for kilometers on beautiful white soft sand. The beach is fairly quiet so you are not disturbed by the "beachy boys" all the time. You look onto Mnemba Island and doing a snorkelling excursion there from Kiva is very easy and accessible. Being on the eastern side the sun rises are magnificent. Breakfasts and dinners were good at Kiva with staff happy to assist with any requests.

Very friendly staff, great sand at the beach. Quite windy tought. Excellent lunch and dinner - however breakfast is average. Two pools are great and nice outdoor area.

Breakfast starts only at 0730 which is late for some activities (e.g. diving starts at 0800...). Beach and terrasse are exposed to wind.

We had a very nice welcome to this nice Hotel. Staff are very friendly. The Breakfast is good with a lot of different food. Also, dinner was very varied. This hotel is recommendable!

Everybody should do his best, to protect this beautiful piece of beach. Please don't touch any starfish or take them out of the water for just one stupid picture. They are going to die! The Beaches are very clean just close to the hotels. But the further you go, the more plastic you will see. That's so sad!!

The rooms were really cosy. The breakfast and dinner were really good, with variety of choices. I would recomand booking both breakfast and dinner because there are limited options in the area. Having 2 pools and multiple locations with sun beds was really appreciated. The stuff was really nice and friendly. They make you feel at home. I loved the beach facing restaurant, it had a wonderful view to the ocean.

There was a 4 meters difference between the high and low tide, so be to enjoy the ocean for just some hours. In the area there is a reef that you can walk to in the low tide, but there are lots of sea ​​urchins to get there.

The hotel is located right in front the beach and the restaurant is very pleasant because you can see the ocean while eating. The staff was very kind and the quality of the food was very good.

The shower was a bit small and the bathroom floor in front of it got wet

On the beach, the personal welcome by the staff and the extra measures they took for us to enjoy our trip. Fabulous holiday

Air Tanzania's lateness on all our flights which had nothing to do with Villa Kiva.
