This hotel is superbly located for the Munich old town, being only a few minutes walk from Marienplatz. It is also very close to the HofBräuhaus, and lots of other bars and restaurants. We had a lovely short break stating here. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were very good. The hotel is welcoming and quirky, and excellent value for money. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Munich.

This hotel would not be suitable for people who cannot manage steps. We stayed on the 4th floor which is accessed via an amazing, central spiral staircase, which we loved. But, for others, this may be a problem as there is no lift.

The staff were amazing! After issues with my flight I arrived after well after midnight. Check-in was swift and friendly as the bar was open till 1am. My room was great and the bed was one of the most comfortable ever. I have eaten at the restaurant on various occasions (always so wonderful and a true vibe), but I wasn't aware until recently that they had a hotel upstairs. Well designed retro-inspired rooms.

I was on the 4th floor (no elevator), however it was a great opportunity for some exercise, and the gentleman who checked me in had offered to help me with my case, which I declined but I thought that was a nice service touch.

Hotel Lux in Munich is an absolute gem! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (especially Yassin), offering great recommendations for places to visit around the city. The breakfast was a real highlight — the granola was delicious, and the fresh fruits were simply amazing. It was the perfect way to start the day! I also have to mention the cocktails, which were top-notch. Each one was crafted with care and tasted fantastic. I could have easily spent all evening enjoying them in the cozy atmosphere. Overall, Hotel Lux exceeded my expectations. I was genuinely sad to leave and can't wait to return!

The hotel was unique and inviting. It has a beautiful spiral staircase that leads to the rooms. No elevator but staff is very helpful getting your luggage up.I loved the bar and restaurant on the ground level. We had dinner ( food was really good) and drinks from the bar and they were good as well. I can.t complement the staff enough they were always friendly and so helpful with all our question. The location is wonderful walkable to a lot of Munich’s must sees. Highly recommend

Weekends can be a little noisy if your room is facing the street

I really enjoyed this place. It was extremely well-located, hip, well-appointed, and clean. It was central to the old town—so very convenient—and had friendly, accommodating staff. I was only one travel, and the room was efficient, quiet, and everything I needed for a comfortable stay. It was so nice to be able to swing back into my room to drop something off or change quickly while visiting the old town.

Not so much what I didn't like but observations for others. The bed, for me, was not as comfortable, but OK. Check-in is through the staff at the bar. There isn't an elevator, which was not a problem for me. I didn't take advantage of the wi-fi - I didn't ask for it. Last bit, my room door card reader was different for me, so it took me a couple of attempts to figure it out - once you do, it's very easy.

Staff!! Kindest, most personal, and service minded staff. Style and uniqueness of the old building while it being in great condition. Bed! (Some might find it hard, I loved it.) Cleanliness of room.

There was no air condition, and even with two good fans it was simply too hot. This however will only be a problem in the summer. We had a room facing the street, and the partying outside made it impossible to have the windows open, which could have helped. (Note here however the plus in this: the windows were very good at noise isolating!) A room facing the other way will probably have less of an issue because of this. No actual hand soap? We used the shower gel.

Easy to get to from train and walking distance to Marienplatz and other restaurants and beer halls. Fun and quirky decorations inside, and a really cool cocktail bar in the lobby. Bar staff during check in and check out were very kind and helpful. Note to other travelers- there is no elevator, but as long as you are traveling light it's not so bad to walk up the stairs. There is no AC but fans are in each room, and with the windows open the temperature was still comfortable. May want to bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as you are located downtown and can hear street noise.

The room’s interior is lovely, comfortable, and clean! The location is excellent, just a stone’s throw from the main square. Everything is within walking distance, and I had a wonderful time. A big shoutout to the two staff members, Mr. Yasin and Ms. Katharina, for their assistance with my booking.

They could improve the pillows, as only one is provided, and it’s quite soft. Also, there’s no lift, so avoid requesting a higher floor like I did. However, the male staff is very helpful and will assist with your luggage.

Perfect location, was right in the heart of everything but still quiet and comfortable! The incredible restaurant and cocktail bar in the hotel was a huge plus. Staff were exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond. Loved the decorations all through the rooms and stairwell.

Our rooms bathroom was very small. Only fit one person at a time. The bathroom was a little outdated also with the wooden door having a whole in it. Also no elevator however, the staff took our suitcases up for us.

Quirky little place with very comfortable and nicely designed bedrooms. The spiral staircase was a fun addition. Staff were very welcoming. Extremely well located for all the attractions of old central Munich.

A little noisy at night, even though we weren't facing the street - the double glazing worked well to keep out the noise but the aircon unit provided was itself too noisy to sleep with. But we managed by leaving it running for a bit to cool the room before sleeping. And you have to expect a bit of noise for such a wonderful central location.
