The best thing was the hot tub and swimming pool. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing and stargazing in the evenings. There is also a beautiful flower garden with butterflies and lots of places to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Spacious driveway to park right outside accommodation. Wonderful hosts, Wendy and Mike were warm and welcoming and provide a binder full of recommendations for restaurants, tourist spots, contact info and more. A generous selection of tea, coffee, fruit, spreads and cereal were provided. Lovely spacious living room, bedroom and private bathroom and walk in wardrobe! Very comfortable large bed Close to Hobbiton, Cambridge and Hamilton.

Nothing to dislike!

Everything about this stay was excellent! It was lovely to have a pool and a spa after a long journey and we felt welcomed by our hosts. Swimming towels were there for us- an example of the attention to detail in providing for our comfort that was apparent in everything! We had all we needed for breakfast in the kitchenette and we were lucky to have the weather to enjoy sitting in the garden.

Everything was so good, I would have liked to stay another night! We hadn't realised that the property was quite a distance from Cambridge centre and so we needed to drive back there for an evening meal. Next time, we'll factor that into our plans!

The accommodation had everything and more that we needed. The hosts were very thorough in showing us around and how everything worked. It was a bonus to walk with Wendy around her lovely garden and especially enjoy her roses. Everything was presented to a very high standard. The location to Cambridge was very convenient and their recommendations for restaurants were very helpful. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone needing accommodation in this area.

My room at Applecross Sanctuary was spacious and comfortable. It was very clean and cosy. The hosts are extremely friendly and thoughtful, making sure the heat pump was on in the evening, for example, so I came home to a warm room. The location out in the country side is peaceful but you are still close to Cambridge and also Mystery Creek was only about 20-25 minutes away most days. The wifi and tv options were excellent.

Just to note that there are no kitchen cleaning facilities but the plan made by Wendy and Mike to help clean any dishes or containers worked seamlessly for me.

Great place to stay, the owners are very invested in making sure you have a great stay. We were arriving around dinner and we asked them for dinner options, they were very helpful and even checked if the restaurant was full. The gardens are lovely and a pool and spa are also a great bonus:) The room is very comfy and we were provided with 4 breakfast options, fruit, yoghurt, bread and different spreads:) Coffee pods, filtered coffee and normal coffee plus a range of teas. Bed was comfy and the place was fabulous, really enjoyed it:) Would definitely come back:)

Not really much to say here:) My wife thought it was interesting to have detol handdwash in the shower compared to bodywash...but that is such a small thing for all the positives from our stay.

Wendy and Michael were the consummate hosts and were discreet, but available when needed. The room was clean with everything needed for my short stay, including a private ensuite. It was too cold for the pool, but I enjoyed a lovely quiet afternoon in the sun, sitting on the deck, listening to the cows in the nearby paddock. The property is an easy 7 minute drive from the middle of town, but why bother with town when there’s so many beautiful views to be had nearby. It’s conveniently located within less than an hour and a half of everything the region has to offer - Rotorua, Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Hobbiton, Bridal Veil Falls and much more.

The hosts were hospitable, kind and friendly. The room was amazing with a comfy bed and an amazing ensuite that included toiletries as well as a few bonus toiletries you won't always expect. There was adequate space and a variety of pillows to choose from as well as extra blankets. The breakfast selection and coffee were great. The place was clean and tidy and super cosy. The hosts even had an amazing book filled with ideas on where to eat locally and activities.

Sad we couldn't use the spa or pool due to bad weather.

Loved that it was quaint and sweet. Mike and Wendy are lovely hosts and respected our privacy as it's a lot these days being in the public eye. That we didn't stay 2 nights. We didn't realize it was a bnb and we haven't stayed in one before..always motels hotels so was a nice change

We stayed here for 2 nights and were completely satisfied. We have been traveling for 6 weeks, previously 3 weeks in Hawaii and it was one of the best places to stay for the price. The beds are comfortable, the host very friendly. Everything was clean and nicely furnished. It's nice and quiet on site and you can hear the birds chirping. We also liked Cambridge, where the host gave us good tips for restaurants and excursions.

We really loved this property. It is located amongst rolling farmland but is less than 10 minutes drive from Cambridge centre. The accommodation is spacious and has everything you need. Wendy and Mike are excellent hosts. We would most definitely come back!
