We had a superior room, it was a good size and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed with a good shower and plenty of towels and soaps. Breakfast was good, continental style with some hot options if wanted. Also the coffee was good. There is a big garden area along with a smaller pool area with a bar handy for drinks and snacks. The location is very good with a short walk to Certaldo train station, where regular trains get you to Florence,Pisa and Siena, also Certaldo itself is a short walk, where you can get a funicular to the hill top village with its choice of nice restaurants and beautiful views. All in all we had a fabulous stay, and special thanks to all the staff who were so helpful and welcoming.

The most pleasing aspect was the service - the staff were amazing - particularly the lady who looked after the bar/food area (I believe her name was Francesca), she was constantly attentive and available. The other staff were great, but she provided quite simply the best customer service that I have ever experienced in a hotel. The rooms were modern and spotlessly clean. The aircon was very welcome; the weather was very warm outside. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

The only negative point was around the hotel being quite isolated. There are not many amenities close to the hotel. I did not have transport and taxis are not really available.

We stayed 3 nights to have a rest, room was very nice, big enough, clean. Hotel staff was kind. You can rest by the pool or in the garden. Very close to Florence.

Breakfast could be better, not so many choices, which I expect in 4star hotel. Because of thin walls with next room we could hear one night the guests next to our room like they were in our room, which was pretty uncomfortable in the night, while they were watching TV and talking …

From the welcome to the check-out, everything was perfect. The room was very spacious and immaculately clean. We spent a peaceful night without any noise or anything that could disturb our sleep. The area around the hotel is very pleasant and picturesque, from the swimming pool, to the gardens, to the small river that runs past the main building. The breakfast was well above our expectations and the lady who welcomed us in the room was extraordinary, giving us suggestions of places to visit in the city. An experience to be repeated.

The internet connection could be better but nothing that have jeopardized our stay

Location was good and the hotel was lovely. What made it more special was the staff. We brought our 8 month old baby and they were very accommodating with assistance on cleaning/sterilising the bottles and providing mineral water as one of many examples.

Hotel window looked out to abandoned building with what looked like road works along the bridge.

If I compare the price with other hotels we stayed in, the price is too high but the personnel is extremely good. Especially Francesca, Serena, Jessica and Mauro made our days really comfortable. So sweet, kind and always trying to make it better for you. We felt very welcomed by them. To management; these people deserve to stay and please, treasure those people. They are gold for this hotel. Pool was great. There was no cook so Mauro took over and tried to make the best of it.

Hotel is a bit outdated and could need some paint at the outside. I would make the set up in the garden more welcoming. Set all the tables with napkins and candles as there is potential. Nice furniture and seating. Again, Serena and Jessica as well as Francesca gave us every time a warm welcome when we came for breakfast and dinner. Thank you for that.

We loved restaurant manager, his care and talking to him. We loved the pool. The room was very nice and internet was working very well. The town Certaldo is very nice and we like the walk from the hotel to historical part.

What could make our stay even greater and more memoriable - if we could find nice musical events or cultural festivals nearby. For us it was hard to find them on our own and the hotel manager, although did a research, didn’t find events for us. So our idea to improve - to monitor such concerts, event and share with the guests.

The food was superb, complementing a fine chef. The staff especially Maurice was so helpful they even kept the restaurant open just for us one evening went we arrived back late. The weather has not been kind recently with lots of rain so the grass is longer than usual but the hotel can’t conduct the weather. All in all a lovely stay where at the staff can’t do enough for you. We had a little one with us 19 months old and he was treated like a VIP

A delight. I arrived quite late, but I booked a dinner in advance. Prosecco......mmmmm We were delighted with the service, breakfast (if you want vegetables or an omelette, just say it) if they have products, they will definitely serve you. We were very pleased with the employee Ecaterina from Slovakia Piestany who offered great recommendations to visit around, thank you very much. San Gimignano, Volterra, Oriveto.

The kindness of the staff was extraordinary. Just one example: in many parts of Italy, restaurants are closed in the early afternoon. Certaldo is a small, charming city, but there were no restaurants open at 3:00 p.m. The staff invited us to their (also closed) restaurant, where we had a delicious lunch and excellent prosecco. They can be rated as 10+, Grazie!
