We had stopped in multiple similar b&b establishments over the last few nights and this was our favourite by far. The stay exceeded our expectations. The room was larger than it looked from the online photos, very clean and very well stocked with amenities, including lots of towels, robe, teas, coffee and biscoff biscuits! There was a fridge down the end of the corridor with real milk, plus a few beers which were very welcome! The landlady is super friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was lovely. This was probably the most reasonable price we had paid for bed and breakfast, which made our stay even more of a pleasant surprise. Because we stayed on a Sunday, there was no food available in the evening (we had already been made aware of this, so it wasn’t a problem at all) but the menu and the chalk board with specials looked great, also with very reasonable prices compared to everything else we had encountered in Cornwall. We wouldn’t hesitate in staying again next time we have a road trip, perhaps staying for longer and using it as a base because there are lots of places nearby to visit. This is a real pub with friendly locals who made us feel very welcome. We will be back!

The car park is very small and there are outside tables using some of the space. It wasn’t a problem for us as we got a spot, but if the pub was full, it would have meant finding a space on the street….not the end of the world!

We had a lovely stay here, it started with the prompt and friendly communication with Sally prior to our stay. The very warm welcome she extended to us on arrival. A free upgrade of our room which was clean comfortable and homely as well as Sallys genuine desire to chat and interact with us. We were lucky enough to stay on a Tuesday evening and be invited to join a very long established community quiz night. The atmosphere was great, we throughly enjoyed being part of it. The parking available was essential to us and the breakfast included in the price, cooked by Sally was well presented, tasty and plentiful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this 17th Century coaching Inn and Sallys very warm hospitality. Thank you very much Sally 👍

It is a proper pub stay and very cosy. The landlady Sally was exceptionally lovely and welcoming, she even upgraded us when a better room happened to be available. We were there for one night and one of our party got sick over the stay, Sally was extremely accommodating, made toast and coffee, and let us have a late check out to ensure we were okay to travel. The facilities were clean and the bed extremely comfortable, it was a perfect place for us to stay!

Something to bear in mind is that it is over a pub so during the opening hours there will be some music audible from the rooms, but this shouldn't interrupt sleeping hours.

The toilet has a macerator fitted and it "activated" every time any of the taps or shower were in use. The pull-cord for the shower/extractor is very short. Being of diminutive stature (5ft tall) I difficulty in reaching it!

An early drop-off for my bag was made available to me and I was greeted warmly upon arrival. The room was pleasant and comfortable with an abundance of tea/coffee and biscuits and access to a fridge outside the room with a supply of fresh milk. Bathroom facilities were good, although external to the room. I enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast which was included in the price.

The out-of-hours access to the room was easy but a little unusual, via an external fire escape staircase.

Sally and the team here at the Kings Arms are excellent. From the moment we arrived to when we left they couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. There are a lot of little touches such as a table in the corridor with little extras like a clock, sewing kit, fresh milk, extra teabags, card games etc etc. We ate here with family the evening before the wedding and the food was excellent and very good value prices. You pre-order the breakfast and it was lovely.The drinks prices are very reasonable too. We wished we could have stayed longer and will return.

The full English breakfast was substantial and meant we didn't need much for lunch. The beds were extremely comfortable.

Nothing specific about the property itself, but the 'garden view' turned out to be a bit of grass on the other side of the main road that contains a toilet block decorated with flowers. The pub itself does not have a garden, just a tarmaced outside drinking area. Stratton itself is a small village containing 2 pubs, a church and a general stores that doubled as a post office. There isn't much to do there, but that was fine for us as we only wanted to use it as a base to explore Cornwall and Devon.

A very convenient stay in Bude on our way to walk the coastal path. The staff with incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and well provisioned, and excellent value for money.

Be aware it’s above a pub. This was not a problem for us at all as even on a Friday night there was no noise after 10pm.

Great pub and staff. Nice little village and a short drive to the sea. Really comfortable room. Loved it here.

Not the Inn's fault, but taxi's are limited and very pricey if you want to go to Bude on an evening for drinks. Something other travellers should be aware of
