The Riad has a very authentic atmosphere, cool, spacious, carefully designed and decorated in the traditional Riad style. The garden is lovely, with a careful choice of plants and an attractive pool, deep enough to really swim. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous and well-presented. The bar offers wine and beer, very welcome after a day of sightseeing! If arriving in Fes by train, it is helpful to ask the staff to arrange a taxi, as like most riads it is not otherwise easy to find. The riad arranged an excellent guide, Raschid, for a day trip around the medina.
We only discovered the rooftop by chance. There are great views of the medina and the landscape, and there are sunbeds and mattresses for sun worshippers. A plus which could be mentioned on the website maybe?

Beautiful Riad, with a gorgeous well maintained courtyard and small garden area with pool. The staff were really lovely and very helpful. Pre arrival communication good and pick up from airport arranged smoothly. The breakfast was excellent and our room well equipped and very comfortable. All in all an excellent week
The only thing about Riad Norma that is not 10/10 is the distance from restaurants and the main area/blue gate. It's not massively far but is a 10/15 min walk and there is really only one restaurant close by so you need to pace yourself if you're going out all day and in the evening. We took the advice on where to eat and had some lovely meals.

Stunningly gorgeous riad with a kind-of old-school elegance to it. It is aging gracefully, a few cracks here and there, but a truly beautiful riad. The staff was kind and welcoming, the fireplace was always going in the afternoons with some pleasant music playing, the breakfasts were delicious, the water pressure and temperature were the best we experienced in 2,5 weeks across Morocco. Our room was quiet and comfortable.
A water kettle in the room would be a welcome addition. This has nothing to do with the riad itself, but the location: every day, without fail, on our way back to the riad, we would be approached by young men telling us the road is closed, or we couldn't go a certain way because we aren't Muslim, or some other tactic intended to play on tourists' naivete or ignorance...DON'T LISTEN, just continue onwards. Yes, Fes is a labyrinth, and it is easy to get lost, but the roads/gates are never closed, they will just take you on a roundabout tour and expect money in return.

For the American tourist, it's difficult if you do not speak French or Arabic to navigate Morocco generally. Because of the talented team that Proprietess Monique has assembled, we could understand pretty clearly and arrange all sorts of things to do without trouble. The pool area was overused by us! We loved our experience living like royalty in her palatial riad. Our rooms far exceeded our expectations as well. The food for breakfast was great and the quality exceptional. Oh, and the morning coffee! Wow.
It is a 20 minute walk into the main part of the souk. I think that if we'd been closer in, it might have simply been too noisey. We found getting away from the souk was fine for us, but it meant if we did want to see the souk, we had to plan to walk meaningful distances up and down hills.

Absolutely everything from the moment we arrived we felt at home and made to feel like part of a family. All of the team were so friendly and helpful and Younes gave us great advice . Breakfasts were So delicious and presented by such a wonderful person whose name we didn’t get but the most warm smile. In the evening after getting back from supper we are always greeted with a flask of hot water and the same when we came back in the afternoon. The room was huge comfortable bed and so cosy and warm when it rained . All in all we couldn’t have picked a better Riad just a shame that it was the wrong time of year to enjoy the pool and garden but another time Thank you to the whole team at Riad Norma it made our trip to Fez so special and we will miss our first night not in that fabulous bed !! Please thank all of the staff for us and apologies for not getting their names Julie and Tony London

This place is magical. We had three wonderful nights in the Norma Suite. The building itself has been beautifully restored and our room was huge and extremely comfortable. The property is on the edge of the medina near a gate and about a 10 min walk from the main part which made it easy to find and also a peaceful retreat after the busyness of the medina. The proprietor Monique was very welcoming and the manager Younis and the rest of the staff were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble! I highly recommend this riad and would definitely stay here if I was back in Fes.

Stayed at this beautiful Riad during our visit to Fez. The Riad itself is tastefully appointed and conveniently located near one of the city gates. The room was very clean and comfortable.
The breakfast didn't have much of a variety. Also, staff (except for the manage who was not visible on most days) spoke only french, so communication was a challenge. There is a 20 min walk from the Riad to the main blue gate area where you get the restaurants. It is not safe to walk back in the night after dinner. The safety of the locality and Fez in general is questionable. My husband and I were accosted by thugs more than once. The attitude of people in Fez towards tourists has much to be desired. They are unfriendly, arrogant, and opportunistic. Fez is not a tourist welcoming city, unlike Marrakesh.

The Riad is absolutely stunning, decoration and ambiance amazing. Staff is great, super friendly and helpful.
The room we got was not comfortable at all. The beds were one floor lower than the bathroom, so you had to go up a floor (think middle of the night…) if you needed the toilet… The bathtub was high and you had to maneuver to get over, and then while you are showering water goes everywhere because there is no curtain. You have the option to sit down in a “chair” in the tub, but it is awkward to shower that way. The bathroom has a constant bad smell.

This was by far the most comfortable room we stayed in during our trip to Morocco, our room was very spacious and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast was impeccable too. The Riad itself is beautiful, you can tell Monique put a lot of effort into the design and decoration of the whole place.
Some of the staff does not speak any English, so I found some difficulties in communication when they asked me a question as my French is very rocky. So prepare yourself. Furthermore, there was no shower curtain in the bathroom so the water splashed everywhere when taking a shower.

Riad Norma was the best choice for Fes ! I had chosen another riad but days before my arrival I read the comments of this Riad and I ended up choosing Norma. Very close to Bab Ziat that makes access so easy. At the same time very close to restaurants, coffeeshops and souks. A special THANK YOU TO YOUNES who went out of his way to make my stay comfortable and providing info any time needed. The suite Norma was a gem, very shinny and with garden view. I could easily spend a whole month in this riad that is a small paradise considering the full of life city. Thank you so much again Norma Team !! 10 ++++ for all of you. Christina
