Friendly staff, great food, lovely room.
That Booking.com said it was located half a mile from Birdlip, in reality it was 10 miles away. Very inconvenient as we were Walking the Cotswold Way and The Green Dragon Inn was the opposite direction.

We didn't stay for Breakfast but Dinner was good with good service. Room was compact but had everything needed and we loved the fresh milk on offer in the ice bin. Loved the location in the middle of no where but so handy for everything in the Cotswolds. Lovely Pub and a great shop.
Nothing I didn't like and I would recommend this place, but perhaps it would have been nice to be asked if we wanted dinner or breakfast. Although its nice not to be pressured the Green Dragon perhaps could have sold their facilities a little bit.....more of an observation than a criticism.

Great Atmosphere, I had dinner which was lovely, Burger and Chips and Sticky Toffee Pudding with ice cream for desert... both delicious. Staff very friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay again and recommend this place to friends and family. Chilled Fresh Milk for your room and tasty Scottish Biscuits!! bring on the Borders.. Towels and bedding smell amazing. Also I checked the Green Dragon Shop, where you can buy a whole host of goodies and they even have their own cafe - staff friendly and helpful, I picked up some tasty bits before heading out for the day.
Nothing..

The Green Dragon Inn and Pub was oh so charming and cozy. The atmosphere in the pub and bar was wonderful and full of character. This inn is dog friendly which made the experience even more enjoyable. We didn’t bring our pet, but it was great to see how accommodating the inn is to pet owners. The little shop is great and very convenient since there isn’t much around the immediate vicinity. We went in late December and still found plenty to do nearby.
When we arrived, there was a mixup with the room we booked. We booked two rooms on the same level with garden views for both, but when we arrived one of the rooms was already taken. So we had one room upstairs and another downstairs. It worked out ok because the room upstairs still met our needs. We’re not sure if it was Booking.com’s mistake or the GDI’s. Also, there is a precarious corner turn to get in and out of the property. The road is very narrow and you can’t see cars coming from the opposite direction.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Cowley, between the charming towns of Cheltenham and Cirencester, lies the delightful Green Dragon. This traditional Cotswold village exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the Green Dragon is no exception. As you step inside, you are immediately greeted by a sense of hospitality that is hard to find elsewhere. The accommodation at the Green Dragon is located in a separate building at the rear of the pub, ensuring a peaceful and comfortable stay. During my visit, I opted for a Double Room, and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of comfort it offered. The bed was incredibly cozy, providing a restful night's sleep, and the combination of soft and firm pillows catered to my personal preference. One unique feature of the room was the shower enclosure, which was conveniently located within the bedroom itself. While this may seem unusual, it could add an element of intrigue, especially if you are sharing the room with someone. The Green Dragon also boasts ample parking spaces for its guests, both at the front and back of the establishment. This thoughtful provision ensures that residents have no trouble finding a secure spot for their vehicles. As you make your way to the restaurant, you'll be delighted to discover a menu that showcases a wide range of delectable dishes, all crafted using locally sourced produce. While the prices may be slightly higher compared to other pubs, the quality and taste of the food make it well worth the investment. Keep an eye out for the charming wooden carved mice adorning the table legs, as these small details add a touch of whimsy and make the Green Dragon a place you'll want to revisit time and time again.

The staff were all fantastic - service throughout was faultless. Room lovely, bed and bedding super comfy! Full English both mornings- great. Food choices at night - had marinated pork in oregano and the fish pie. Both delicious, as was the creme brulee and sorbet... Superb shop on site. Nice atmosphere in the bar area - neither noisy or crowded.
As it's not a hotel - was missing a comfortable seating area to relax after dinner but it was ok sitting on at the dinner table till bedtime! A little biit remote location wise.

Too late for dinner, but kitchen produced supper for us. Room extremely functional, super comfy bed. Breakfast excellent. Parking next to accommodation and secure. Very difficult to better this establishment excellent value. Staff extremely welcoming and this includes all bar staff and the delightful lady preparing rooms.
Not sure I can answer this as we found everything to be first rate. Having to write reviews, we never do this.

Room was very comfortable, although the ensuite was small but as we we were only staying for 1 night this wasn't an issue. Setting was beautiful, with access to a communal garden for residents to soak up the greenery and listen to the birds. We ate in the pub restaurant and our meal was great.

Breakfast was good, with lots of choice; hospitality tray in room also very good, and nice decor.
Slightly disappointed with Sunday evening meal; veg were nice, but meal overcooked and gravy very salty. Found prices a little high, but then this is the Cotswolds, and I always get stung by the single occupancy thing. For someone in my position, this was a major treat, and a couple of things could have been better.

Very pleasant dinner and breakfast options. The rooms were well arranged, clean and of a high standard. The manager was very helpful. The location is very quiet and rural.
As visitors to the property it could have been beneficial to advise us in advance about the time at which the kitchen was closing, as all other options for food in the area were also closing at the same time (early evening). That said, we were very happy that the manager accommodated our slightly late food order.
