1) Brad the boss is really friendly, guided us on the different facilities in the hostel, and was really responsive on WhatsApp. 2) we opted for a private room with ensuite toilet, the room was really clean and beds were comfortable, quiet too. We had well rested nights. 3) conveniently located next to a supermarket and a self service laundromat is just a 2 mins walk away 4) Brad let us park our rental scooter right at the front door of the hostel (as per Taiwanese style) and helped us move the scooter to park it correctly 5) Brad knew we were going to visit Taroko and shared tips like its opening hours so as to not waste our limited time as tourists. He also shared useful suggestions like there’s more than just Taroko We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Hualien, part of which was the impeccable service by Brad and his hostel’s services.

It’s spacious and clean, with an interesting design! Close to shops and the station. The owner is the only member of staff and is really friendly.

I rarely saw the owner for my whole stay, it would have been nice to have someone there to ask questions to. I also got badly bitten by mosquitos in the room on my last night, I mean like a hundred bites, which has never happened before and is still uncomfortable days later. Maybe spray the rooms, a fan would also be good! The beds are very hard unfortunately.

We arrived 2,5 hours later than expected around midnight. Although the host left the hostel at 9pm already, he opened the door for us and told us what we needed to know. Thanks for this exceptional flexibility. The location is very good, in the center of Hualien close to the train station. The beds were very comfortable, the room was well cleaned, the common area was a nice place to chill. the next morning we left early to Taroko National Park. We were able to check out early without any problems. We had a great stay and the best sleep in a long time!

Hostel is located in a walking distance to the train station. There is a self help laundry mart only 2 mins walk which is very convenient for the backpacker. Along the street which there are lots of restaurants and convenience stores run for 24 hours. If you wanna have a taste with Taiwanese food this is a good place to stay. About the hygiene of the hostel is clean and the environment is cozy and comfy. I strongly recommend this hostel to everyone if you wanna have a reasonable price to stay !

Not at all

Brad is the best host I've ever had. As soon as I arrived to the hostel he kindly asked what my plans in Hualien were and helped me arrange the whale watching tour and later rent a scooter. Also, as the Moon Festival was approaching, he gave me to try a few samples of traditional snacks. In addition, I enjoyed chats with him about the Taiwanese society - Brad is a great conversationalist. As for the hostel, I loved the interior design and facilities in general.

The mattress was perhaps rather thin, but I also understand that everyone has different tastes.

Really close to the train station and convenience stores, easy to find, the owner was really kind and helpful with recommendations and I really appreciated the tea/coffee/snacks provided. Rooms were comfy and loved that each bed in our twin room had it's own TV, though we didn't really need to use it. It was nice to have some space to sit downstairs.

Slightly annoying having to go down a full flight of stairs to use the toilet and showers, especially if it's the middle of the night. Close to the station but a bit futher from the town centre, but can easily get on a bus from the station over the road.

It is quite near the Hualien station. There's a coffee shop in front of it. Even the room that I stayed in was small, but the bed was spacious. There's a locked locker outside and inside of the room (near the bed). And what I liked the most was, there's a bidet in both toilets, upstairs and downstairs. As an Asian, I really appreciate it. One more thing, the plug socket near the bed is a universal plug. So, you don't need a travel adapter to use it. If you are sensitive to dust, don't be worried because the place is clean, including the bathroom and toilet.

The size of the room was quite small.

The hostel is located in a great spot, it's just a 6 min walk from the train/bus stn and is next to a grocery store for any other items you might need. Brad, the hostel owner was super nice and helpful. I went to the recommended food spots and was not disappointed. The bathroom area is also very clean. The lounge area to eat/drink/hang out is small but clean and tidy. Really appreciated the free amenities provided (instant coffee, some small snacks, etc)

I stayed in the 4 bed mixed dorm and it's really tiny. There was basically just enough space to open the door. But it wasn't a huge problem since I was just there for two nights.

The owner was friendly and provided instructions on how to get to hostel prior to arrival. Our quadruple room was on the top floor and as there was only stairs, the owner was kind enough to carry our luggages up. The bedroom was clean, modern and comfy, with all bathroom amenities provided. All the basic amenities were provided in the shared kitchen on the ground floor. Coffee/tea/biscuits were provided. There's a shared balcony where you can hang your laundry. Accommodation is walking distance from Hualien station.

Bedroom was a bit small for four people. Only stairs in the accommodation. You have to take a bus to the main shopping/eating area.

The hostel was clean and I liked the layout and space downstairs. Brad was also very helpful and quick to communicate, especially with recommendations for food and activities. It was really easy to walk to from the train and bus station. The mixed dorm on L3 also had it's own bathroom and shower.

The bed isn't the most comfortable but the bunks are private and cosy.
