Third time we have stayed here over many years. Always home from home feeling. Beautiful quiet country environment. Beautiful decor and comfy king sized bed looking out on a quiet balcony. We rode our bikes on the Warburton rail trail from Lilydale and stayed the night. Only a short walk to Warburton town. Home cooked breakfast and a great welcome from Cathy and her husband in the morning. She was so caring and helpful. The river at the bottom of the property is the place to relax. Away from it all. Will be back as soon as we can.

Nothing. Maybe a bigger TV screen in bedroom. To small for size of room. Another bedside lamp as when one goes to sleep disturbs the other when reading.

It was lovely and tranquil and staff were absolutely amazing. Due to some unforeseen circumstances we couldn’t check in until midnight and they were so accommodating even when I asked if it was possible to get some food. Five minutes after entering our room a beautiful antipasto platter arrived. The property backs onto the Yarra River and there were chairs and seats along the bank where guests could sit and just relax. It was so beautiful. The room was comfortable and we were lucky to have a balcony facing the river. Breakfast was fantastic; homemade granola with fruit, yoghurt followed by a full hot breakfast.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

I spent two nights at Oscar's on the Yarra, from 11 to 13 December, and had a truly pleasant experience from start to finish. The hotel exudes charm with its heritage style, elegant details, and welcoming atmosphere, tastefully furnished in a way that evoked old-world charm and immediately brought to mind some of the elegant country estates one often encounters in adaptations of Agatha Christie's works. My room, though small, was meticulously clean and thoughtfully appointed. The added touch of coziness and vintage ambiance gave the place a character all its own - both timeless and inviting. One of the most pleasant moments of our stay was spent on the balcony overlooking the hotel’s peaceful scenic grounds, with a great view of the Yarra River. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring, enjoying the quiet surroundings, and listening to the soothing sounds of nature. Each morning began with a fresh, delicious breakfast, thoughtfully prepared and served with great attention to detail. Dinner with Christine and Jason was equally delightful, and the engaging conversation made the experience even more memorable. Many thanks to Christine and Jason for their warm hospitality and wonderful company during my stay. Their friendliness and dedication to creating a comfortable, welcoming environment made all the difference. I had a fantastic time and look forward to visiting again.

This place is so tranquil, cosy & delightful. Brian, his wife, Christine, Rosie & the charming young man who took my breakfast order have all been nothing short of amazing. They ensure you feel welcomed, comfortable & treat you as a valued family member. We hadn't even gone to our room yet, but were so beyond delighted that we extended our stay on the spot. I could happily stay here for weeks. Beautiful venue, staff, rooms, warmth literally & figuratively. ♥️

Can't fault a single thing!

I loved the scenic views! Christine was such a wonderful host. My husband and I got to chat with the family. The staff took really good care of us at this gorgeous property. The breakfast is amazing, cooked to perfection. The love poured into it is quite evident. We loved the granola, yogurt and fruit bowls! It’s definitely one to stay at for anyone who wants to rest and rejuvenate! I personally enjoyed my quiet time by the Yarra River that runs beside the property. We look forward to going back there.

Nothing negative to say!

Oscar’s was such a welcoming place to stay with my husband and toddler. The room was generously sized and there were lovely spaces to relax in if you wanted to get out of the room. We enjoyed using the pool table whilst the baby had plenty of space to crawl around. Everyone we came across during our stay was so friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the delicious cooked breakfast each morning. All the little touches made it a comfortable place to stay like the baby cot being set up ready for us and a high chair out out for us each morning when we arrived for breakfast.

Christine and Jason were exceptional hosts, always keen to make sure that we were comfortable and that our needs were met. The home made breakfast and coffee was great and the grazing platter on arrival was generously prepared with cheeses, dips, crusty bread and pickled vegetables....scrumptuous! The local Cab Sav suggested by Christine was a perfect accompaniment. Our hosts were helpful when we required any tips on what the area had to offer. The rooms were clean and very comfortable with a glorious view from the balcony to the Yarra River.

Loved the home cooked breakfast and the location was simply beautiful! What really made it was the owners and staff who were so accommodating! We loved our stay and will come back regularly now we have found this beautiful place to stay in the heart of Warburton! The location is second to none and even has picnic rugs and cushions so you can picnic by the river, have a swim and enjoy a champagne picnic and cheese platter from a local cheese shop. It was just wonderful!

Although the room was small, it was lovely, but very nice and cozy. All we needed. There was a small deck out to the garden which was nice to sit on. The bed was very comfortable and the room was really clean and modern. We were able to watch netflix in the evening. There was a pool table and lots of board games provided. All the maps and directions were available which really helped with our driving trips. Breakfast was fantastic, one of the best we have had at an accommodation. Kept us full for the whole day on our driving trip. We stayed for dinner on the Saturday night, and it was great. Avoided the Easter crowds. Before dinner we took a bottle of wine down to the rivers edge with supplied pillows and picnic blanket. It was so peaceful and lovely. The management could not do enough for us. They thought of everything. There was even an Easter egg at our door on Easter Sunday! Easter bunny must have come!!?

There was nothing that we did not like, even the weather was brilliant. Town was a bit too crowded so we were very happy with where we were staying.

What a beautiful setting, everything about Oscar's on the Yarra is perfect. Christine and her team are amazing and very accomodating. I was so impressed, I started writing the review in my head as soon as we'd arrived. Was going to say the only regret I had was not booking another night, but we ended up staying another night anyway. Did I say the team is gracious? Nothing is too much trouble. Great rooms, amazing breakfasts (as you'll hear in other reviews), and exceptional hosts. With just a 5 min drive to Warburton, Ocars' on the Yarra enjoys an enviable position away from the highway, and is the perfect spot for relaxing by the river. See photos. What more could you want?
