Breakfast choice was great, lovely staff. Always friendly and helpful. Parking on site was very useful. Great location at the edge of the Aldstadt (Old City) to explore Freiburg on foot. Convenient to reach Europa-Park and Rulantica by car, and train station is at the end of the street - a cheap regional day ticket can take you as far as Basel for a day trip (€36 for family of four). Room was spacious, air conditioned, nice view onto the adjacent park with the cathedral spire over the Aldstadt. Beds were comfortable. Traditional German-style pillows take a bit of getting used to (single large, square, squishy pillow). The feel of the hotel was very in-keeping with the city - modern and traditional aspects complementing each other, bookish but friendly.

Would be nice to have coffee and tea making facilities in the room.

This is a very well located hotel between the train station and the old town and it is easy to get around. It is very well run and the staff were excellent. A shout out goes to the Italian guy on reception who checked us in and remembered our room numbers instantly every time we collected our keys! Everyone was very friendly, from reception to the staff in the breakfast room (an excellent breakfast) to the cleaners. There is fantastic attention to detail in this hotel, with books and information, fresh fruit and snacks in reception. I highly recommend and will absolutely stay here again.

The train station is very close as is the old town and shops. There’s an Edeka supermarket across the road. The hotel has fruit, Haribos, sweets and chocolate in the foyer for guests plus complementary sparkling or plain water. They have umbrellas for rainy days - we had a few. My husband asked for a kettle for the room. There is a choice of room cleaning preferences because the hotel is trying to be green, which we loved. We also bought daily train tickets for use in the Black Forest , to which the hotel pays half. The staff were lovely, especially Stefan. Will definitely stay again!

More tv channels please- needed when it was raining g.

A very pleasant, stylish smaller hotel with extremely helpful staff. The room was standardly equipped and perfectly clean. Great location for people traveling by train, just a few minutes from the main station and still close to the town centre. Breakfast was excellent, but we also appreciated the large EDEKA supermarket directly opposite the hotel. Right next to the hotel is a beautiful park with a vineyard, although sometimes occupied by various strange people, but we still felt completely safe. After check-out, there was no problem storing our luggage.

As tea lovers, we would have appreciated a kettle in the room, but unfortunately there wasn't one. We also found the price a little higher than for the same standard elsewhere.

Location is excellent for the best parts of Freiburg. The room had a great view towards the hills and the minster (Munster). The radio in the excellent bathroom is a fun feature. Convenient for the centre, restaurants, wine bars etc and a good walk to be had up the Schlossberg Tower. The parking garage under the hotel is another great convenience if you're driving there. The people were all warm and helpful. Great place.

The only comment for us is the absence of tea/coffee facilities in the room, which seemed a bit odd, given how good this hotel is.

Location is a short stroll to the old town. Also is near the train station. Underground parking was available. Elevator to upper floors. Breakfast had a nice variety and lactose free options. There is an Edeka market across from the hotel.

The parking garage is tight so a larger vehicle will have issues. The breakfast room is a bit small for the number of guests during our stay. The breakfast staff, while pleasant, seemed understaffed and food took some time to get replenished.

The hotel offers lots of small details, like Christmas cookies, a fruit basket, chocolates in the reception area. I also liked it had a mini bar in the room, although we didn't use it as there is a supermarket across the street. Location wise is perfect, just some steps away from the central station form those looking to explode the black forest but also close to the city to enjoy a stroll and get lost in Freiburg's small but lovely streets. I was here with my mother and felt quite young as this hotel serves an older crowd. Breakfast was ok, but a bit old fashioned (only few vegetarian options, none vegan options other than Müsli).

Our room only had one window and the room was a bit smelly when we first got there.

Its location is unparalleled. It’s only 5mins’ walk from the Freiburg Train Station, has 2 supermarkets nearby, and only takes 5mins’ walk to the Alstadt. Each room is individually furnished, clean, comfortable and very well-equipped (yay for heated towel racks). The wifi is strong and consistent. It feels classy with the literary-themed furnishings. To top it all off, there’s a choice of a free drink from the fridge and they further offer you a bottle of water when you check out. These little things really make a difference!

Charming, clean and conveniently walkable to main train station, trams, cathedral, restaurants, old town. Hotel has associations with many German writers and intellectuals and the decor features walls of books. We were in one of a kind room 113, a lovely high ceilinged room with a balcony, big windows overlooking park, view of Munster spire. Very nice breakfast in bright morning room with lovely coffee. Friendly helpful multilingual staff. We were able to safely store our bags after checkout at noon on our last day because we were taking a late train to Frankfurt.

Nothing not to like! We were visiting our son who lives in Freiburg and we were so comfortable at the hotel, we plan to stay at the Park Hotel Post when we come again.

Very close to the old town and many restaurants, 4 min walk to train station. Clean facility. Comfortable bed. Big large windows that could be opened. Beautiful view. Very easily walkable.

Had an old fashioned key, not key card. They preferred you to leave the key at the front desk so you don’t lose it. However, when coming back, they would just ask you your room number and give you a key without confirming your identity. Anyone could ask for my key and gain access to my room. Very safe area though. Just a little strange.
