The Norfolk is in a superb central location and within walking distance of the river, the castle, restaurants, shops etc. The building is of Georgian origin, with later additions, hence the quirky, pleasing element to the structure. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The free flow element to our room certainly exceeded our expectations. I would most definitely stay here again.

I think this is the first time I have stayed in a hotel that has monetized the car park! I appreciate car parking is at a premium in Arundel but at £7.50 a day, whilst not a vast sum, was irritating and would certainly mount up over a short stay. On the upside I was only there for one night and was able to leave the car until 1.00pm allowing time to visit the excellent Saturday farmers market in the square. I was repeatedly asked to fill out an online check in, which I did, but at the actual check in I still had to fill out various forms, which seemed a little odd.

The staff at breakfast were really friendly and helpful, and made the stay a really positive one. They went over and above to ensure that we had everything that we needed. The facilities were clean and comfortable and easy to access for the person in our party who had mobility issues. The atmosphere was really laid back and not at all pretentious and the building was lovely.

It would have been helpful if the bathroom facilities were slightly more updated - a walk in shower would have made our stay better as one of our party couldn't easily use the bath.

The room was clean and well appointed, the shower was excellent! A selection of books in the room was a nice touch, and there were two occasional chairs which was nice. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and we liked the guest lounge. There was a good choice of breakfast, all of which was good quality and delicious.

For our taste the bedding was uncomfortable- the pillows were hard and the duvet was too big and heavy. We also didn't find the tv controls straight forward! We were surprised that dinner wasn't available, but there are plenty of options nearby, as the hotel is very central.

Upgraded to a room with a huge four poster bed. A lovely surprise as it was our wedding anniversary. Very comfortable. Great location in the centre of the high street. Live entertainment in the main road, such a good atmosphere on a sunny Sunday afternoon. A coaching inn with a history so expect wonky floorboards. All staff we met were polite and helpful especially those at reception who we had most interaction with. A fabulous place to stay for a couple of nights. A visit to Arundel Castle and the museum is a must.

We were asked to check in before arriving but on arrival check in was slow due to a dozen people checking in at the same time and the desk area being small. Numerous stairs to rooms as no lift. The room was large, but the bathroom was very poor a shallow worn bath and no shower ! This caused us a huge problem, we were able to run along the corridor to share a family members shower, not ideal, at 8pm we arrived back from dinner out and asked if we could have coffee in the snug and were told they don’t really do coffee at that time, but would on this occasion, I waited 15 minutes and carried each cup as it was made to snug, none of it was consumed as it was basically hot milk.

Historic and interesting building, very central location. Comfortable room, even some books in the room for a guest to read, bath as well as shower.

I am nearly 70, and 6 foot. I didn’t notice the message saying my room was on the third floor (no lift) with a low ceiling, until the day before I arrived. Phoned up and was given a normal ceiling room, but still on 3rd floor. When I arrived I asked again to move to a lower floor, but was told no other rooms available. But all the time I was there, there was a ‘rooms available’ sign outside the hotel!

Location

I wanted a drink in the Lounge but no one around so I tried in the nearby Snug. A note on the Bar there directed me to Reception. The guy at Reception directed me to the Tap Bar outside. The Bar person there didn’t have draft Guinness so sent someone to the Snug to get it and bring it back to the Tap. I took it from the Tap to the Lounge. The three members of staff involved in my quest were charming, all the rooms I used were comfortable and I liked the place but it was a lot of bother for a half pint of Guinness in the Lounge.

We were very happy with our stay here, from the huge bed, the lovely courtyard, friendly staff and beautiful breakfast room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to spend time in Arundel for its proximity to the castle and the town itself. Everything you need is on your doorstep.

There was nothing we did not like! If we had to say something, we would mention that there is not a restaurant for dinner but there were plenty of choices nearby so not an issue.

We love this hotel, having stayed there several times now. To us, it is what we call a proper hotel. Plush carpets and beautiful staircases.

The price. We felt that £156 for the room we had and then £15 each for breakfast (we didn't have to have this, but felt we should). That all said it was our choice to stay there at that price. It was a special occasion for us as it marked a very important anniversary. We will still come back as we have a milestone birthday in September.

The building expands and is full of beautifully decorated nooks. I received a message that the bath did not have a shower and that the ceilings were low due to the room being in former staff quarters. My bath did however have a shower, and the room was huge and tasteful and comfortable. Location excellent to explore Arundel. Would recommend

The check in is late and the check out early so for a 1 night stay I did not really get to enjoy my room / the hotel fully.
