Location is stunning, view from infinity pool is beautiful, hotel beautifully designed and staff go out of their way to make your stay a good one

Through no fault of the hotel or it's staff the monkeys are a real problem. They are very skilled at stealing food from the room and their persistence in trying to get food is fuelled by the guests that feed them despite being asked not to. They did get into our room and made an incredible mess and stole all the food and some drinks from the minibar. The hotel were very understanding in it being an accident. However I am surprised that given the monkeys are clearly a problem and becoming more aggressive I don't understand why the edible food is not stored in the minibar fridge and why the fridge is not locked

Pictures did not lie: the Gran Melia is located square in the middle of the Iguazu National Park, on the path towards the lower and upper trails around the waterfalls (think 5-minute walk to the start of the lower trail). The hotel itself is magnificent, with an outdoor swimming pool with a view of the falls (soaking in the pool while admiring the waterfalls is an experience to remember!), very comfortable lounging chairs, a nice restaurant and a rooftop bar. Rooms are well-equipped and comfortable, and staff was efficient, if not particularly friendly (some spoke no English, so interactions were sometimes difficult). But, all in all, a great stay in the heart of the Iguazu Park, with a splendid view of the falls.

The restaurant offers many options, but all are a bit pricey for what they are. Also, the quantities seem unbalanced between two different dishes: the meat options are enormous, while the pasta dishes were tiny...

Rating: 10 (Only because of Mayla and Selva) I’m giving this a 10 solely because of the exceptional customer service provided by Mayla and Selva. They truly went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable and deserve full recognition for their professionalism and care. However, if it weren’t for them, I would have rated Hotel Iguazu a 0. From the start, our booking details were incorrect—what we received didn’t match what we had reserved. That was already disappointing. On top of that, for the price we paid, we expected high-quality amenities. Instead, the towels provided on our first day were old, worn out, and even had holes and rips. When I called to request new towels, someone came to the room—but instead of bringing towels, he came to show me how to use the safe, which I hadn’t asked for. It was frustrating and felt careless. I also requested conditioner because the in-room shampoo and conditioner made our hair dry and brittle, but that request wasn’t fulfilled either. The Red Level service was very inconsistent. On our first day, Selva, Mayla, and Sebastian took great care of us. The next day, however, the service completely changed. The server stood by doing nothing, and only became attentive when a couple who spoke his language arrived. This inconsistency and preferential treatment were disappointing and unprofessional—not what I expect from a luxury hotel. Again, huge thanks to Mayla and Selva. Without them, our stay would have been a disaster.

The service throughout the hotel was impeccable, from the reception to the restaurant and pool areas. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The rooms were spotlessly clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with stunning views of the surrounding nature. We especially appreciated the peaceful ambiance, the luxurious setting, and the dedication of the team to make each guest feel special. Iguazú Gran Meliá is the perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and genuine care. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an extraordinary stay near the falls!

The best hotel in Argentina for seeing Iguazu Falls. Probably the best view I have ever had. We were facing the falls. Probably the best dinner I have ever had. We got the half board. The infinity pool was very nice, probably 50 meters long. Access to lower falls, upper falls and Devils Throat was right out the back of the resort. The monkeys visiting our porch.

Probably the most expensive hotel I have ever stayed at. Advertised as the best hotel in Argentina. It is not. Lobby, hallways, rooms were OK, not the best. It was the best hotel in Argentina for seeing Iguazu Falls. You must have tickets to enter the National Park to get to the hotel. The monkeys visiting our porch.

The view was amazing! Room was comfortable and quiet. Facilities in hotel provided range of different activities and places to relax. Breakfast included a wide variety of options. Service was friendly. Sometimes communication in English was difficult, but we're in a foreign country, so to be expected and all staff were polite.

Hate floral arrangements of asiatic lillies - quite allergic to them. Alstromeria on other tables were lovely. Confusion over airport pick-up. Driver wasn't there to meet us as arranged. Was told this had been cancelled, but I had confirmed this by email. A driver was sent when I rang the hotel. Could have been a language issue, but wasn't happy with the excuse provided.

I loved that it was in the Iguazu National Park and we were able to walk from the Hotel to the falls, we hike the upper and lower circuits 3 times while staying here, we also at at the restaurant in the hotel each night, the food was fantastic, the included breakfast was amazing there were so many options to choose from, there is a bar on the roof were we ordered some food and drinks and just watched the falls from there, the staff was amazing even during check in we received a cool towel and complementary drinks, everyone was super friendly, I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back

Absolutely magnificient! The location, the view of Iguazu Falls and the infinity pool. The staff, professional, helpful and entertaining at the same time. It is hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at and the experience is worth every dollar. I also really liked the fact that the hotel has taxi drivers affiliated who are professional and their rates are very competitive. Airport pick up and drop off should be arranged directly with the hotel not through third party!

Well where do I start!! IT WAS AN AMAZING hotel!! LOVED LOVED LOVED!!! There are some special hotel experiences on the planet - this is one of them. To walk into reception and see the mist of the falls blew us away. To swim in the beautiful pool and gaze over at the falls in the close proximity is unique. Great service all around and the restaurant food was equalloy top notch! A great experience and one I shall never forget.

The price!! £1500 for one night as it was Christmas holidays - prices inflated so top tip - don't go at Christmas!!

The hotel is amazing! The location is exclusive and it provides excellent service! The rooms are great with the views. Though we booked a room with forest view, at the check-in we were offered a discounted upgrade to the waterfalls view with Red Level which was totally worth it! The breakfast was the best we had in our 3-week trip around Argentina and Melia did not disappoint us as always! The exclusivity this hotel provides is that you get 1 hour advantage to get to the park and see the waterfalls before the crowd, though it is not advertised (for a good reason!). We had the park for ourselves from 8 am for 1 hour which is totally worth the money the hotel charges, but provides par service for that money! We definitely would recommend to stay there for its excellent service, location and quality. The spa onsite, the pools and terraces are all great too. The animals around the hotel are just amazing and friendly. The final touch - a gift at the end of our stay was just a cherry on a cake. Thanks to all in Gran Melia Iguazu for this great stay!

The communication before arrival could be improved - we had some lack of understanding that we had to buy the tickets for the entrance to the park in advance. As the hotel is situated inside of the park the tickets for the park must be purchased in order to access the hotel which was not clear for us as we thought we could buy the tickets upon arrival. Purchase of the tickets upon arrival is possible (still with a credit or debit card only), but it would have taken us time on our arrival to the hotel as we would not be able to access it. If this could have been explained clearer we could avoid a number of exchanges of the emails. Otherwise, everything was great!
