The staff was very nice. The room and facilities were clean and cozy.

My main qualm was the overpriced dinner for less than mediocre quality. I tend to try salt and pepper squid everywhere, these were by far the saddest servings I've ever had. Far from fresh, overcooked, and the salad was too old to serve. The Gnocchi were ok, slightly overcooked, and the chicken was very dry. Again the room was lovely and mostly clean - some unpleasant stains on walls and carpet weren't great though.

Have stayed several times before. Great location,in the grounds of the old Crichton Royal Hospital. My home town,ideal for exploring the area. Fantastically spacious room,with everything you would need. Great shower,exceptional products(shame body wash pump in shower didn’t work) Ample free parking a bonus.

Breakfast poor Selection of options not very appetising…hot offerings very greasy . Disliked shared marmalade,chocolate spread etc jars..not everyone will have washed hands or sanitised prior to coming into restaurant. Large open bowls of yogurt disliked for same reason..people with long hair leaning over them. A large open bowl of apricot jam…. All not acceptable..need to consider individual yogurts and small jars of jam,marmalade etc. Room and set large tables could have been cleaner.

Good parking options, clean spaces, comfortable room and very friendly helpful staff. Asked reception for a fan and this was promptly delivered to the room. Great parking options. Restaurant on site with nice food too. Plenty of breakfast options with fresh fruit, hot food, pastries and cereals. Evening meal was also nice with good options to choose from.

We had the Half board option so could have done with info on what’s included etc regarding drinks & courses as this wasn’t explained anywhere. Had to ask the waiter in the restaurant to explain further. Also, the Phone didn’t work in the room so had to go to reception for my requirements but the staff were great and faultless. Not enough sockets near the bed, only one on each side of each single bed which the lamps plugged in to.

Tastefully modernised and comfortable. Our room faced the front and the views of the harbour were excellent. The room was clean with good facilities, plus a comfy bed. There was a wide choice of tasty food in the restaurant and the prices were good. The staff in the restaurant, bar and cafe were helpful and friendly, even the dog had no complaints. Lastly, there is a large carpark at the hotel with Tesco within walking distance if you forget yoir toothbrush

There is no lift in the building and staying on the 2nd floor made us reluctant to nip out frequently

This hotel was a great place to stay overnight on our way up to the Highlands! We checked in late and was greeted nicely by a member of staff. Our room was an executive room, really big, massive bath and shower, bathroom really clean. Chocolate bars and water in the fridge to consume. Bed was a super king and really comfortable. Kids in the sofa bed, slept well, many pillows to help make them extra comfortable. Breakfast room was in a really nice area in the older part of the building and breakfast was so plentiful, lots of options and everything available, a peaceful, quiet experience, we did get in there early morning. Would stay here again and definitely recommend. Great value for money, a family room on a Friday night around £70/80 and that included breakfast! Amazing!

A separate bar area with comfy seats to relax was only thing missing. Dining room set up not quite the same for a drink. I will be travelling a lot to Dumfries and that is the one thing that stop me staying more than a night

This Hotel is in a beautiful location and ideal for a peaceful walk after dinner in the grounds. Not many Shops or eating places nearby and needed to drive to find others mainly in the Town. Room was quite large, however, lacked somewhere to hang Jackets and needed comfortable seating as there wasn't any. Also Carpet required changing due to wear and a quite large hole in it. Good breakfast with adequate choice although wasn't to keen on the dinner menu on the first night. We had a Pizza which was not very good, lacking on topping with a very thin cardboard like base and for the price we would have been better getting a Dominoes delivery which would have been tastier and cheaper. Staff very friendly, helpful and would stay again if in the area as ideal for a mini break but wouldn't stay long term.

Dinner menu choice and not having much nearby by way of Shops, Cafes, Restaurants etc.

Only stayed for one night as a stop on the way to the Cairnryan ferry port. We arrived mid evening, around eight pm. Check in was easy, the restaurant was open so I asked the restaurant manager if I could take some food to the room as my husband was there with our dog. I was delighted to find that we could come to the restaurant with the dog providing we sat at the one of the first two tables. We also had breakfast at the hotel which was buffet, hot and cold and very good quality. The hotel is in lovely grounds for walking. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Loved the large bed, and bathroom facilities. The building was lovely the lounge area was a nice relaxing place to sit. I'm glad the accept dogs so I could bring my little pooch. Mini fridge was handy with chocolate bars and bottled water. Beautiful view from room, garden view executive room. Bonus shaving sets room service pillow service Restraunt service to bedroom was good however £5 delivery for it to be walked to your room. Dressing gowns available on beds to.

Advertised as a indoor and outdoor play area for kids however there is none! Board games and books available in lounge area however these are all mismatched and we could only use one game. Wasn't keen on cooked breakfast not very tasteful or appetising to look at (no Scottish breakfast) however the continental selection was satisfactory alot of choice.

Rhiannon quickly replied to our request for two rooms close to each other which gave us peace of mind immediately. The size of the disability room was excellent and the beds were really comfy.

I did raise the issue that we found the rooms cold and that there was a leak on the carpet when entering the bathroom in the disability room, when we first arrived, I didn't catch the name of the reception staff, I just felt that we should just deal with it ourselves, not really the 'over and above' service we normally receive when staying with you. We mentioned the leak again when we left and a different reception person said they would pass that on. (Re the heating, we ended up turning off the air conditioning and using two plug in heater to keep the disability room warm. )
