Great setting close to Yala national park. Well spaced luxurious bungalows , where you feel you are at home with nature. We did an early morning safari and as we were about to go out from our bungalow at 5am there was an elephant walking by our terrace, it was a surreal experience. In the lake at the resort there are lots of crocodiles and it was amazing to see them so close by.
Only thing we didn’t like was having to pay for water with our half board evening meal. Understandable with alcohol or soft drinks but not water, but we still rate the place 10 out of 10.

This is such a special place to stay! We saw loads of wildlife around the property and out on the Safari. We booked two jungle family rooms for our family of 4 and they were spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was decent, drinks were yummy, and the service was great. They don't play music at the pool or restaurants and so you become attuned to all of the nature sounds around you. It's a wonderful place and great value!
The hotel doesn’t have a shop to buy things like sunscreen and stores are quite a ways away. Make sure you bring everything you need with you. The road in is bumpy as people have said but it's like that for all of the hotels in the area.

The location of the hotel was stunning and very peaceful. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant upstairs were delicious. A breakfast package was prepared for us which was great for the day we had safari starting at 5am although tea/coffee and snacks were also available from 5am in the bar for early risers.
Dinner on the second night was put in the outdoor bar downstairs with minimal lighting, no floor fans available and a greatly reduced assortment of food compared to the dinner in the restaurant the night before. No real explanation could be provided. It was no way near as pleasant and given the cost of staying, was somewhat unimpressive. There were next to no starters and the desserts were all very warm. This was made worse by local cricket being projected through a few tables onto a giant screen - not a single guest was watching and it made it feel like a sports bar, not an exclusive hotel at Yala National Park. That was a real shame.

We chose this resort for our last nights in Sri Lanka and could not have chosen better when going on Safari. The jungle huts are stylish. You really feel like you are on safari. We were woken up every morning by monkeys on the roof and they were everywhere. A beautiful experience. We could watch the crocodiles and buffalo from the pool. The pool staff is very nice and friendly. He always let us know what to look at. It was a short walk to the beach. Every day we enjoyed a coastal trek. You can't swim here, but the views are breathtaking. A big thank you to the staff at the restaurant. We have travelled to luxury hotels in Sri Lanka but the choice and quality of food here was one of the best. Yummy Honey Hoppers for breakfast. Special thanks to the girls Danu and Tharuka who were very nice and helpful. These girls have a great future ahead of them in the hotel industry. Very much appreciated the breakfast box on the morning safari. The stay at the resort is perhaps better than the safari itself. We will definitely be back.
Some of the older male waiters should take a lesson from these young trainees! I won't go into the details of what we saw, but it certainly wasn't a good example for young waiters.

We had a large comfortably furnished room. There is a nice pool in a scenic setting. We had an early start for a safari and they provided an excellent boxed breakfast to take with us. The staff were friendly and helpful. They identified the gluten free options on the buffet which is always a source of anxiety for those needing a gluten free diet.
Nothing to dislike except that they insist you have to be escorted to the dining room at night and you might sometimes wait a bit for someone to come.

Being within the wildlife and the kind staff who volunteered to cook special meal for my child, Udaya Lagantha and Lalith who was so flexible to open the rooftop bar for us and the room boy, Tinath who put the unique flower designs on our bed everyday.
Lack of food options and stray dogs not being so taken care or respected by staff

Our stay at Cinnamon Wild Yala was truly unforgettable — a perfect blend of adventure, comfort, and exceptional hospitality in the heart of nature. The resort itself is beautifully set among the trees and by the water, where wildlife is never far away. The atmosphere is peaceful yet exciting — you really feel like you're in the wild, but without sacrificing comfort. We were blown away by the wild dining experience, which was one of the absolute highlights of our stay. Dining under the stars in such a unique setting was magical. A massive thank you to Ananda, whose warm, thoughtful service made us feel like the most important guests, every single time. He made the whole experience even more special. Huge thanks to Head Chef Manjula, who created incredible menus using fresh, local produce — every meal was a treat. And to Chef Oshan, who prepared a stunning feast for the wild dining — the flavours, presentation, and setting all came together perfectly. Our room attendant Dilhara, also deserves a special shout-out for going above and beyond to make our room feel so special and welcoming every day. It’s those personal touches that really made a difference. We also went on two safaris with Rohan, our guide, and Supun, our driver — and they were both absolutely amazing. Rohan is clearly an expert in his field — full of knowledge, passion, and an incredible eye for spotting wildlife. We were lucky enough to see two leopards, elephants, a wide range of birds and reptiles, and so much more. Supun was an expert behind the wheel — navigating the tricky terrain with ease and always managing to get us into the best position when wildlife was spotted. His driving made all the difference in getting the most out of the experience. Cinnamon Wild offers something truly special — the chance to connect with nature without giving up comfort, and to be looked after by a team that genuinely loves what they do.

Cinnamon Wild Yala offered an unforgettable safari experience! The resort's strategic location within the national park allowed for early morning and evening game drives, where we spotted an array of wildlife. The chalets were comfortable and stylish, blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings. The staff were warm and welcoming, providing exceptional service. A perfect blend of adventure, luxury, and nature – highly recommended!
While Cinnamon Wild Yala's location is stunning, our stay was marred by a few issues. Firstly, the lack of room service was inconvenient, especially after a long day of exploring. The air conditioning in our chalet didn't quite live up to expectations, struggling to cool the space effectively. WiFi connectivity was also spotty, with frequent disconnections. Most concerning, however, was the safety aspect – the area seemed less secure after 6 pm, making it difficult to venture out. Hopefully, these issues can be addressed to enhance the overall experience.

Loved the location within the national park, lodges are great. Staff were amazing. It was a really cool experience to stay here
Slightly felt like there was little value for money. The safaris are more expensive here (although we were comfortable with their explanation for this), the food was more expensive than everywhere else we have stayed in Sri Lanka with very little cheap options and their transport charge to go elsewhere was astronomical and they refused to help us with other options

The proximity to the Yala National Park. The chalet was comfortable enough while giving the sense of staying in a forest. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent with a wide range of items to eat. Excellent service and attention to detail from the staff at the restaurant
The approach road is terrible and worse than some roads inside the National Park. The lunch options are very limited. We didn't come back to the hotel by 10am and breakfast was closed. One option could be extending the breakfast to 1030am
