The photos do not do this place justice! Rooms are fantastic, clean, comfortable and well stocked with all the basics. Pool was super clean. Food was some of the best we had during our entire holiday. Staff especially the host Mandul were so friendly. We even spent the evening drinking with Mandul and learning about his family and Sri Lankan culture. Cottages are a little way from the main strip of restaurants if walking in the dark but we were given a ride on the back of their scooter and got a Tuk Tuk home easily. An unbeatable experience!

We had contact with the owner prior the the arrival and organized a safari with him. The safari was good, we saw many animals and the driver left the animals space if they needed or wanted to cross the road. The place itself is nice, very big houses and a huge bed. With AC nice temperature in the room. The area around the houses is well cared for and there is a nice pool and even the possibility to walk to a lake nearby (we didn't do it, as it was dark). We ate diner there and it was very nice, also the packed food for the safari was delicious.

Sadly the driver of the organized safari had very limited english skills. The place is a bit off the main part, but to be honest, there aren't more restaurant in the 'city' so eating at the hotel is perfectly fine. The mosquito net was too small for the bed, but with AC we had no problem with them anyways.

This place is a true heaven in sri lanka. Its like jungle style with beutiful pool and wonderful garden. We didnt eat but tripadvisor says they have one of best restaurants. Rooms are big, beds are comfortable and everything is very clean. Also pool is big and clean for swimming. Owner can arrange you safari in yala (but yala safari for my opinion is waste of money, overcrowded and we hardly saw any animal).

No card payment (like in most other srilankan hotels). Far away of everything (but this is maybe a good thing)

If you want a quiet stay in the nature, this is an ideal place- its literally in the middle of rice paddies and fields around. Within a short walk you can get to the lake to see crocodiles- we didnt see any but nature is beautiful and we saw crazy many hornbills and peacocks as we walked The staff is nice and helps to organize safaris, food etc- anything you need

Really nice pool on the property which is great after a safari. However tiles in the pool are not concrete/silicon sealed and have sharp edges, ive cut myself several times so families with kids mind that

Staff were super helpful and friendly. Took us on a walk around the lake, organised a safari and kept our 2 year old constantly supplied with banana's. The room was also bigger than expected with and additional small room we didn't see in the photos with a fridge and kettle.

Bumpy ride to get to the place and a bit out of the closest town but it didn't matter as it was a great spot to relax and eat anyway.

We have had a great stay: we loved the staff, food, pool, cottage and we had an excellent day safari to Yala. We saw many jeeps chasing the roads like crazy, but we were so glad ours was not one of them. We discovered Yala at a relaxed pace, enjoying all we came across. Our guide driver pointed out lots of animals, big and small. We loved all of them. As a bonus on top off a great day, we saw a leopard. Though even without the leopard it would have been excellent too. Highly recommended!

Yala peace cottages were ideal for our stop over to go on safari. We stayed two nights and it's set in a beautiful rural location. Just sitting in the restaurant or by the pool we saw so many beautiful plants and animals. Manju the owner is a legend and took us for a walk to the lake on the first night and showed us all the different types of animals... He is super knowledgeable and it was a great experience! Manju also sorted out safari out and we had an amazing time with a great guide and saw crocodiles elephants jackals, leopards, mongoose buffalo and some really rare birds ! It was a once in a lifetime experience... Manju dishes out many welcome drinks 😂 and chatting to him on an evening was one of the highlights of our holiday... We had freshly caught Mullet fish for dinner and it was delicious. If you're after 5 star luxury this is not the place but if you want a great stay in the wild with friendly helpful knowledgeable staff in great surroundings and a lovely pool then you should definitely book here ! One tip though... Save manju phone number as our driver got lost but luckily by chance he happened to have manju number saved from knowing him years ago ! Thank you manju and all your staff

A very quiet jungle type accommodation. Lovey cottages with lots of space and a veranda. Nice clean swimming to relax after a trek in the Jungle. One of the staff took for an evening tour around the lake. No charge, it was nice to all the wild birds. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Manju, the owner, is an official Tour Guide, so if you need help in visiting places, Manju is your man.

The location is rural and very peaceful which is what we were looking for. Ther is a nice pool where you can swim while watching the wildlife and listening to birds. The rooms are nicely designed in a rustic style with great beds and a/c. The owner is very helpful and can organise a great safari for you.

The food in the restaurant was nice but not a lot of options for vegans (which we are) but its not far to some other places to eat if you need to.

Manju was really helpful and organised a great safari for us as well as transfers by keep to the road as it was too muddy for our van. They also woke up super early to give us a packed breakfast to take. The food was tasty and the kids really enjoyed the pool.

It was extremely muddy due to the ongoing heavy rain but this is not the fault of the property and they were working hard to keep the paths walkable. We could see how wonderful it would be to walk around and down to the nearby lake if there wasn’t so much mud!
