This entire area serves the local Safari park - the takeaway breakfast for the safari (which starts early) was very good. The restaurant staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was varied and tasty. The hotel layout is very pleasant with a nice pool area by the dining room. The room was comfortable, functional and tidy. The bathroom was clean and functional as well.

There was an issue with cockroaches in the room. We live in SEA and are aware they can be a common problem, but this was the only place we stayed in Sri Lanka that had this problem - not a major issue at all.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort, and it was an experience worth every moment. The resort itself is immaculate, with spotless rooms and well-maintained common areas. Its proximity to the main attractions is incredibly convenient, making it an excellent base for exploring the local sights. What truly sets Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort apart, however, is the exceptional hospitality of the staff. A special shout out to Ayenaji and Surangi from the front desk, and Iresh, Janith, Gihan, Wathsala, and Pavindu from the restaurant for their outstanding service. Additionally, a heartfelt thanks to the many other sweet and most attentive hotel staff who went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Their service was unmatched, combining professionalism with a warm, personal touch that made us feel right at home. Initially, we only signed up for the bed and breakfast deal, but the quality of the food was so impressive that we ended up dining at the hotel for both lunch and dinner. Every meal was delicious, showcasing a variety of local and international dishes that catered to all tastes. In summary, if you are looking for a place to unwind and soak up the natural beauty of Yala, look no further than Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort. Do yourselves a favor and experience the outstanding service and serene environment – you won't regret it.

We had a noice problem in the room at the upper floor from the roof, first night we have not slept. They laughed about it and for them the problem was solved without nothing to do

The resort was lovely. The staff were helpful and attentive. We had early check in and late check out included in our booking and we did get that. The room was very comfortable, bed was massive and it was honestly the best shower I’ve ever had. The aircon was so strong, so with only a sheet it did get cold at night. The food was lovely and the pool was nice. The crocodile in the lake was cool.

The water and food was expensive, especially as there wasn’t much near by for you to have any other options.

Beautiful property, serene and quiet. Pool is clean and decently big. Rooms were also super comfy and overlooks the pool and a vast field. The breakfast is very lovely - buffet spread and live counter for eggs. Meal/menu options were good and tasty. Staff were very kind and helpful.

Bathrooms could have been slightly bigger. Besides Chef Lady restaurant (must visit), there is a shortage of good/decent restaurant options in the area but that's not the fault of the property.

Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, nice amenities (nice pool, bar & restaurant) with easy access from every room, good breakfast & dinner buffet with various options, restaurant offers a lot of choices and has good quality, good & quiet location when visiting Yala National Park, when you are going on an early morning tour the hotel provides you with a great lunch bag instead of breakfast, easy check-in & check-out process

Hotel was nice, clean and the staff are really friendly. The reception team arranged all our safaris for us on arrival, there’s no need to book these in advance. They also provided breakfast for the morning safaris.

No music at dinner or around the pool area. No where to sit and relax after dinner so everyone just ends up back at their rooms.

Very comfortable and smart hotel, with friendly and helpful staff who arranged a packed breakfast for safari. Room was very comfortable with a great view across the small lake (with resident small crocodile!) and a nice balcony to enjoy the sunset from.

WiFi signal was not reliable and kept dropping. Also, while the bathroom was clean, it could do with a spruce up.

The location is stunning, so peaceful with lots of wildlife to watch from your balcony. The room was a nice size, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good - so much food!

Bugs got into the room given its so close to fields, just need to keep doors closed.

Great hotel used as a gateway for those doing the safaris. Amazing staff, good location and very reasonably priced. Take a tuktuk around the lake to see the bats at sunset. Must do
